Taehyung was showing both the couples around a famous shopping street. Every now and then he'd turn around to either find Yoongi and Hoseok giving each other kisses or Jin snuggling up to Namjoon.
"I'm so single... " Taehyung whispered, exasperated. The boys spent their time having fun and looking around when they all stopped for some ice cream as they decided to return.

"Give me a few minutes. I'll be back." Yoongi smiled at Hoseok who smiled back and nodded. Yoongi left and the boys began eating their ice creams. After about 10 minutes he returned and kissed Hoseok's neck softly.
"Hi, baby. Taehyung has your ice cream." Hoseok looked at Taehyung who froze as he was busy eating both the ice creams alternately.
"Oh--" he stuttered and Yoongi laughed.

"It's okay. I went to get this." Yoongi took out a ring. Hoseok gasped and hugged him tightly.
"Oh my god! It's like an official 'official' now. " Jin beamed at the two and Namjoon hugged his brother while smiling.
"Oh--um.. Con-Gra-Tulations" Taehyung tried to clap with hands full of cones and a mouth full of ice cream.
"Thank you!" the couple smiled. They all soon began walking back and Taehyung spoke up.
"I didn't know you guys were engaged. Long relationship? " Taehyung smiled.

"Um.. Yeah. Almost a decade." Yoongi kissed Hoseok's knuckles.
"Woah!" Taehyung gasped.
"Same with you two?" He asked Namjoon and Jin.
"Yeah.." They blushed.
"How'd you guys meet?" Taehyung asked oblivious.
"Oh um.. I we met at the strip club where I worked." Hoseok said and Taehyung was obviously taken aback.
"And I met Joonie when my family disowned me." Jin explained.
"And Namjoon, Kook and I met at the orphanage you came to attend the birthday party at." Yoongi explained. Then on their way back the boys explained their whole situation to Taehyung.

"Wh--I would've never guessed. You guys seem so positive and so happy, I wouldn't have thought behind such big smiles is such a dark past. You guys are amazing! " Taehyung shook his head and beamed at them.
"Hardly.. The past is the past. Are there things we wish were different? Sure! But there's no point crying over it." Namjoon explained.

"But.. Isn't it hard? To move on?" Taehyung asked timidly.
"Sure, it is! And honestly some things hurt for a very long time. Then one day it stops and you just let go but sure, it is definitely hard but it happens. It does get better." Jin smiled at him.
"Man.. I thought I had problems." Taehyung laughed.
"You do! Your problems are valid! Definitely valid! Just because someone has had it worse, doesn't invalidate your current pain." Hoseok said sweetly.

"Yeah but sometimes it's good to admit that people have had it worse, we're all social animals, we all crave love. And to admit someone needs this more than you, nothing is braver than that. But it's also necessary to tune out because if you can't help yourself, you can't help them. " Yoongi ruffled his hair and Taehyung beamed at him. He respected them a lot more now.

"Baby.. You're so sweet." Hoseok said smiling and rubbing his nose against Yoongi's who smirked and kissed his lips softly. Literally everyone around them began blushing, and the singles had never felt more single. They were the typical rom-com couple, the serious one meeting their sunshine, but it was true for them and they had been through a lot when they found each other.

Jungkook and Jimin were laying in bed naked and tired after their shower sex. Jimin had a blanket over them as he snuggled up to Jungkook and kissed him playfully. Jimin was on top of Jungkook and kissing his neck and jaw softly. Just when Jongin came home, he did knock but the two were so busy making out no one responded.

Jongin opened the door and found his baby brother on top of Jungkook, kissing him and giggling.
"IT'S DINNER TIME!" Jongin screamed and the two got startled.
"Hyu-hyung!" Jimin got off of Jungkook.
"We--I might be leaving soon... So... " Jungkook tried.
"Oh give it a rest, I've caught him doing worse, like the time he said he need to play his guitar but was just playing with himself." Jongin shook his head and walked off laughing while Jimin covered his face in embarrassment.

"Really?" Jungkook smirked at Jimin.
"Oh shut up! I was 17." Jimin threw a pillow at him. Jungkook laughed and pulled him closer.
"At least I don't hump things when I sleep." Jimin laughed and kissed Jungkook as he straddled him.
"Not things anymore, you know." Jungkook kissed his neck.
"Let's just get dressed for dinner." Jimin chuckled making his boyfriend pout.

The two of them got dressed and walked out to find Jongin on the phone.
"Is everything okay?" Jimin asked worried.
"Oh yeah. It was the doctor, he said eomma and appa are doing well but they usually wake up around the time when the visiting hours are over, so they're missing us, we'll meet them tomorrow. It's fine. Appa wakes up for an hour or 2 only, so he's resting again. Eomma is much better. "Jongin reassured his brother who nodded.

"Let's go meet the boys for dinner?" Jongin beamed and the two nodded. Jongin was just a happy kid, he had always been a lot better with his emotions than Jimin and he even managed to take care of everyone around him. And that's why Jimin always looked up to him, but the distance and time apart had definitely made things awkward.

The three of them drove to the hotel where they found the boys waiting in the restaurant. It was a big round table as they all sat, Jungkook and Jongin on either side of Jimin, Taehyung next to Jungkook, Yoongi next to Jongin, Namjoon next to him, then Hoseok and Jin. They ordered food and were talking about random things when Jimin spoke up.

"Hyung. I was thinking you guys can go back now. We'll handle it here and they're okay now so.. They'll be home soon." Jimin tried and Jongin nodded.
"Oh.. Are you sure?" Jin asked.
"Yeah.. I am." Jimin said nervously.
"We'll leave in two or three days. It's fine." Yoongi reassured Jimin who smiled. They all resumed talking about lighter topics and ate delicious food.

"Also, Yoongi bought me a ring." Hoseok said and Jungkook and Jimin gasped.
"Show me!" Jimin clapped and Hoseok took it off.
"Pass it on, I'm busy eating." Hoseok pouted looking at Yoongi who laughed hard. Hoseok gave it Jin who passed it on to Tae then Jungkook.
"It's so pretty." Jimin beamed and showed it to Jongin who smiled and held it.

As he turned his wrist to face him, Jimin saw a bunch of horizontal scars on his wrist. It looked faded but there were a lot. It suddenly hit Jimin about how he hadn't seen Jongin's arms in years! He always wore full sleeved shirts.
"It's beautiful." Jongin smiled at Jimin who snapped out of it because he didn't want his hyung to feel awkward and smiled back, Jongin gave the ring to Jungkook and put his hand down.

Jimin bit his lip as his heart raced. Jungkook was passing it on when he dropped it making Taehyung cover his face in shock, Jungkook bent down to pick it. It had gone slightly under the table so he sat on his knees and got it out, as he lifted it up to give it to Taehyung who smiled at the ring a hand on his chest as he breathed out in relief, the people around their table began clapping thinking he was proposing to him.

"I--" Jungkook was shocked.
"What--" Taehyung tried as the whole restaurant including the staff clapped.
"No, we--" Jungkook tried as a waiter poured champagne for Jungkook and Taehyung.
"CAN THIS GET ANY WORSE? First last night now-" Before Taehyung could finish complaining.
"Woooo!" Jimin cheered as did the boys and they started cheering and laughed hard as the hotel gave them champagne too to celebrate. Jin pretending to cry in happiness but in reality was crying from laughing too hard.

Jungkook and Taehyung covered their faces in embarrassment and returned the ring to Hoseok who was laughing hysterically. Taehyung and Jungkook hit each other playfully as their ears turned pink, Yoongi high fiving Namjoon and Jongin. Jimin looked at all of them and their happy faces as they laughed in this moment.

That's when it hit him, it was so easy to mask pain. So easy to cover up the past, he looked at the people in the restaurant beaming at them, nobody could have guessed how much pain all of them had endured and it was the same for these strangers. He looked at Jongin and realised how easy it is to cover up scars even from family, Yoongi and Hoseok's smiles hid their history of abuse, while Namjoon and Jin never showed how much they had struggled trying to complete this family. Jungkook never talked about his lost childhood, while Taehyung never showed his heart break. As for Jimin never showed his actual anxiety and how immobile it made him feel. It just took a smile.

He saw how all these people he was surrounded by had been through hell and back, but their laughs would never tell you that. Their smiles so precious and all the love they gave, you'd never guess how many times all of them had cried alone. In that moment Jimin was grateful that he had them. Jimin knew he has to move on too. Maybe, it was time to let go of all this hurt and leave it in the past.
