mini rant to get this out of my system-

you know when you call someone a friend and they're always there for you and always help you through the shitty times? well that means you should be there for them as well. not just be friends with them because they benefit you or whatever but actually tell them that you're there for them and be there for them. do what you say.

like, okay, i get that sometimes things are too much to handle, especially on certain days and that's fine, no one expects anyone to be able to handle everyone else's problems on top of their own 24/7, but at least try to be there for someone.

a couple words of reassurance can help someone not feel so alone, can help them not do something they'll regret. a couple words of reassurance can mean everything.

so don't fucking ignore your friend if you know they're going through a bad day, unless there's an external reason as to why you're doing that. be. there. for. them. because they're there for you when you can't handle your problems.
