gabs — her parents brought her up calling her gabs, so she's used to it. but only from them. nobody but her mother and father tend to call her gabs, just because it's reserved for them.
gabri / gabi — similar to gabs, only her two younger siblings call her this. when he little brother was young, he could only pronounce gabri and it stuck, though she doesn't mind.
gab / gabi — her friends, but only her extremely close friends call her gab. she loves this nickname but that doesn't mean she wants everyone calling her gab.
elle / el — gabrielle detests this. detests. she absolutely cannot stand it. people occasionally try calling her this and she will snap back and say that she hates it. so, most of the time, this is used to tease her by her friends and family.
ellie — okay she will admit that this one is kinda cute. but ever since her ex cheated on her, since he used to call her this, she doesn't like it especially from his mouth.
bri / brielle — nobody calls gabi this, but she lowkey likes it. not that she's going to go around telling people to call her brielle, she sure prefers gabrielle from strangers, she just thinks it's pretty.

from afar, gabrielle seems like a sweet, introverted girl which is why people tend to like her from a distance and attempt to get her to help with homework. she's nothing like that at all. just because gabri has a small friend group doesn't mean she's introverted. she can talk to anyone, she solely just prefers to keep her group small so that she can have a few people that she trusts instead of a million fake friends. she lost definitely has the best sense of humor out of everyone around her, although she also tends to use the most sarcasm. in her case, sarcasm is a second language. although she does tend to remain calm in the most stressful situations, which is the exact opposite of what people would expect when they actually get to know her. when someone upsets her, disappoints her, and especially insults someone she loves, she will put them down in the scariest way. word by word, her insults enough to tear someone down without raising her voice. yes, that way, she can be a little malicious. but that's mostly because she loves her friends and family to the moon and back and will do almost anything for them. if she had too, she'd probably kill for those people. of course, she'd rather not. in that way, although she remains calm in those situations, she can be extremely short tempered. she won't let it show, not in the way expected — lashing out and yelling or even getting aggressive — but rather in her own way. her calm words echoing around the room. because of her intelligence, her insults are also elite. to say the least, she's creative with everything. including them. no one else would be able to come up with some of them, that's for sure. obviously, she's extremely intelligent, both street smart and book smart (though admittedly more book smart). her work is always done to perfection, even if procrastinated to the last minute. yes, she is a perfectionist that way and will never do anything to less than perfection. besides that, gabrielle's also persistent. like so persistent she'll never give up unless she does it. that way, she's also stubborn. she won't stop until she gets it. nothing more has to be said. and she doesn't need help to do it. no, she's stubborn enough on her own and she can definitely do it on her own. she helps others often but she hates accepting help from anyone who isn't super close to her because she doesn't want to come of helpless. even though anyone who knows her knows differently.

𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒔
—will always always stand up for her friends and family ; this makes her a great friend to have and if she trusts you, betraying her trust is one of the worst things you can do.
—loyal ; again, if gabi trusts you, she'll stick by your side through the thick and the thin and no matter what, she'll be there for you. even when you try to push her away.
—creative ; she's probably one of the most creative people you'll meet. in anything, she'll have something completely unique because she just thinks of ideas that nobody else does, that just stick out. she's kind of like that, though.
—persistent ; if this girl wants to achieve something, you bet she will do it. and she will not stop until she does.
—calm ; she's probably one of the best people to have by your side during a stressful situation, because she knows how to remain relaxed under a pressing situation and it helps comfort those around her.
—a born leader ; this girl will not be a follower but rather a leader. no matter what, she'll always be the one in control of a group. she's not a follower of what others say and never will be.
—humorous ; gabi has pretty much the most elite sense of humor. nothing more needs to be said.

𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
—takes a long time to trust ; to be honest, it depends who you are but if she doesn't know you, she'll probably take a little longer than one would expect to open up and actually start trusting you.
—stubborn ; it can be both good and bad, because maybe she's a little too stubborn. at times, she just gets stuck on one thing because of this trait.
—doesn't let herself breathe ; not always, but at times, gabrielle is just too hard on herself, her perfectionist side tends to show a lot of the time. and during those times, she tends to not let herself even have a break.
—holds a grudge ; if gabri doesn't like you, she doesn't like you. and unless you redeem yourself in the best way possible, she'll hold a grudge to the last day she lives.
—insulting ; even if you annoy, hurt or insult her or her family or friends in the smallest way, she won't hesitate. even if you didn't mean it. though this is a good thing in small amounts, she tends to pop off easily.
—her own rules ; unless you're her parents, gabrielle won't follow the instructions or rules you give her. she'll do it by her own terms and own rules. it's not disobedience, she just does it her own way. and sometimes that can be annoying to others. she can be annoying to others but if you know her, you deal with it.

𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔
—reading ; as her role suggests, gabriella loves reading. books are her comfort, her escape from harder times and books will always be her go too, when others would rather watch a movie.
—movies ; just because she likes books doesn't mean bri can't find comfort in movies. she loves watching them, especially with her friends or family.
—her friends and family ; pretty self explanatory? she loves these people with her whole heart and would do absolutely anything for them.
—hairstyling ; despite what people would think, gabi loves doing people's hair in intricate styles. and she's good at it. when her sister has a big event or just whenever, gabrielle will usually be doing her sister's hair to perfection.
—marshmallows ; she thinks they're delicious. there's nothing more to say to that.
—s'mores ; look above. they're even better than marshmallows to her.
—winter ; although many dislike the cold winters, gabrielle loves them. she adores the snow and the chilling wind against her skin. and playing in it is just as fun.
—sarcasm ; it's basically her second language, even before the second language (spanish) she actually speaks.
—the beach ; although she loves the snow, she also loves the beach. weird to most but walking barefoot in the sand gives her comfort. and the salty water against her skin adds to it.

𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔
—parties ; they're too much for her. she prefers smaller things, like a sleepover with her friends, pigging out on chocolate rather than eight hundred drunk people surrounding her.
—art ; gabi may be creative but she's the least artistic person you'll meet. and so she doesn't enjoy doing it.
—coconuts ; ew. nothing more has to be said here either.
—the viola ; she just doesn't like the sound and the one time she attempted to play it, she failed miserably. unfortunately, her sister plays.
—her brother ; occasionally. sometimes. but she also loves him. it's like that with brothers.
—purses ; for some reason she just doesn't like them. or carrying them around, for that matter.
—mosquitoes ; maybe it's because her admin has one too many bites right now but she hates them. they can go burn in hell where they belong (i'm sorry i'm sorry)
—semicolons ; they're a disgusting type of punctuation
—pineapple on pizza ; while she loves pizza and pineapple, she absolutely cannot stand pineapple on pizza. they don't belong together and that's on periodt.

𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
gabrielle lydia holmes was born to two extremely busy parents — marlene lucia holmes and christopher jacob holmes — as the eldest of three siblings. because their parents were so busy, she treasured her time with them but also became a second mother figure to her two little siblings. this made her mature quickly but also made her a little protective. as she got older, this only increased, though none of them blamed their parents for it. when older, she dated someone before he cheated on her and they broke up. she had fallen in love with him and tried her hardest not to fall apart when he did this to her. thank god, brielle's friends and family were there to help her through and she decided he wasn't worth it. that didn't mean she didn't close herself up more, though. she shut herself out, only opening up after a while.

𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚
—mother, marlene lucia holmes ; marlene and gabrielle have always been close. gab gained a lot of her qualities from her mother and for the longest time, her mother was her best friend. of course, the woman was busy, but that didn't mean the two didn't hang out. in fact, marlene and gabrielle set out friday nights for the two of them, mother and daughter dates. gabi knows she can trust her mother with anything and most of the time, her mother is the first person to go to for advice. especially since she doesn't have a big sister.
—father, christopher jacob holmes ; christopher has admittedly always been closer to his two younger children, but that doesn't mean he's not close to gabrielle. unlike the typical, chris is usually the stricter patent and he's the one who'll always help gabi study but give her a present or such if she does amazing on a test. unlike with marlene, he and gabrielle don't have heart to hearts or anything, but they're still close and can both sit in a comfortable silence and read together.
—sister, estelle amelia holmes ; estelle is three years younger than her sister, gabrielle and the two are extremely close, to say the least. they have a typical elder sister younger sister relationship — bickering, stealing clothes, watching movies till three am, gossiping about boys, all of it. since the two girls share a room, they spend too much time together and love each other to bits. it's the sister relationship so many people envy and want.
—brother, adrian caleb holmes ; adrian is the youngest, eight years younger than gabrielle and he's the baby. the baby of the entire family. they all tease him, to the extent that he gets mad and stomps of like an eight year old would. but he's adorable and everyone loves him. except his sisters at times.
