[An hour later, you hear a knock on your door. You open the door and close it. 'Not Again,' you sigh.

Jungkook got distracted from what he came to your door for and now he just wanted to see you again in those big reading glasses, messy bun, and homeless people clothes. You had your nerd mode on, totally his type. He wanted more than just a glimpse.

So he knocks again but you ignore it.

A minute of silence was enough for him to bring his mind on track and focus on the situation he was in.

"Sorry, I didn't wanna disturb you by knocking like this but you ignored my text and it's important so I had to," he says from the other side of the door. When you don't respond he adds, "It's about Jennie, I think she needs your help," he waits for a few seconds hoping you'd open the door now but you don't. He continues, "She's been crying continuously for the past twenty minutes and I don't think its the drink this time."

You finally open the door. You peer over his shoulder to get a view of the world behind his broad stature to look for Jennie but she isn't there. "Where is she?" You look him in the eyes and ask.

Jungkook needed a minute to focus. Your attractive homelessness was distracting him from worrying about Jennie.

"Jungkook?" You ask him again.

"Yes?
I mean- Sorry-um- what was the question?"

"Where is Jennie?!!"

"Oh. she's outside she said she needed a minute alone."

"Jeez what'd you do?" You walk out of your room and Jungkook tags along. He tries to explain himself in the background as you make your way towards the patio outside of your apartment. He tells you how they were just having food and she went from making fun of him to crying whilst making fun of him to only crying. He said he asked her if she was okay and she said she didnt know why her tears wont stop and went outside. You had to stop before going out to process his story.

Jennie hears you open the door behind her. She turns around and walks in.

"Im fine," she says before you could ask anything and goes to sit on the couch in your living room, which had a table in front of it with all of jin's food. "never mind, im not," she adds as she fails to hold back her tears. "I don't know what Im doing anymore, I dont have a real job and I spend my days working at a bar for free?" She rants.

You exchange a look with jungkook. A look, a side eye, a bombastic side eye, that said you understood what it might be.

Quarter Life Crisis.

"No, you're right im overreacting," she says even though you said nothing to her, "not like im gonna work there forever," she adds. "Did I tell you i got a summer internship in Daejeon? It'll boost my résumé and I might finally get job offers," she rants, still crying.

"Maybe it is the drink," you whisper to jungkook to which he replies, "i hope it is."

A few minutes later Jennie stops talking but her tears dont. She goes back to eating her food. You and jungkook decide to sit next to her, you to her left, him to her right. You whisper in Jennie's ear something you didnt want to ask in front of jungkook only for her to reply, "No, I am not on birth control!" You are sure your landlords, who live on the floor above you, heard her. Jungkook whispers a question in Jennie's ear too. "No, it's not about Namjoon." She states, loud enough for you to hear. "Ok maybe it is," she adds.

"I knew it!!" Jungkook exclaims and earns death glares from Jennie and you. You stand up, irritated by namjoon's existence, "I warned that douche-

Jennie stops you from embarrassing yourself again. "He didnt do anything, it's just... never mind it's embarrassing," she adds. She asks jungkook to explain and you kinda feel jealous how he knows more about your friend than you do which seems like an irrational thought so you let it go.

"so," He starts, "everyone was revealing their secrets and we found out namjoon's been going out with someone for a month," he ends with a tight lipped downwards smile.

Considering her feelings for your nemesis, you try to comfort Jennie by bitching about namjoon but jungkook ruins it.

"I am sure there are better men and women out there."

"nah, i dont think so," jungkook blurts out. He realises he said his thoughts out loud and immediately regrets it.

"You bi, my guy?" Jennie asks, raising her brows.

"Ignore what i said, sorry about that," jungkook replies with an embarrassed fake laugh, "im not bi, it's just that i look up to him a lot."

"Yeah sure we believe you," you reply sarcastically.

"No, for real, it's only respect in there," he pats his heart and explains.

"Okay, sure," you reply in a high pitched voice, which was very unconvincing for him. Jungkook realises he's given you a new reason to bully him.

"You know what's funny, i was gonna ask him out later tonight," she laughs as tears roll down her cheek. "On a bright side, i think it's good that you guys were discussing secrets or I'd have made a fool out of myself," she rambles, "i wouldnt have been able to go back to work again i mean imagine being rejected by someone and meeting them again and again. I'd be an idiot to voluntarily get myself into that kinda situation," she pauses and turns to jungkook, "no offense," she adds.

"None taken."

Jennie heaves out a sigh of relief. She says she feels better after venting her thoughts out and feels relaxed. "I think I'm gonna go to bed," she announces.

"You should, you ne..." Jungkook starts but gets interrupted by something that makes him wince in pain. "You need some sleep," he continues.

"You okay? getting cramps?" Jennie jokes, her eyes still watery from crying earlier. You snicker a little at his confused face. "Yeah... I mean No, I mean yes, I'm okay and no, I'm not getting cramps," he explains himself, "it's just my ear... it hurts sometimes, which is nothing," he replies and tries to brush the attention off of him. To his dismay, your med student senses tingle and since it involves your specialization, you couldn't help but ask, "How often does it hurt?" bringing the attention back to him.

"Quite often."

"Does it hurt on the inside or outside?"

"I think both."

"Oh... Do you get sharp waves of pain or is it like a thumping eardrum sort of pain?"

"The sharp one."

"I see..."

"I'm sure it's coz of my earphones, I've switched to headphones now so it'll go away."

"Girl, No," you declare. "Don't put anything in or on that ear," you state. "Do you mind if I have a look?"

His brows go up and his popular innocent-nervous doe eyes appear as he bites his lips, recalling when was the last time he cleaned his ear. When he remembers it was yesterday when his ear start to hurt again, he gains some confidence and agrees. You fish out your phone from your pocket and turn its flashlight on. You lean a bit over to your left as he leans to his right so his left ear could face you, blocking Jennie's vision with his shoulder.

"Am I third wheeling?" Jennie mumbles.

You give her a criminal offensive side eye after examining jungkook's ear. "Yeah, so, it's a bit swollen and I think you might have an infection on your outer ear," you diagnose based off of your limited textbook knowledge.

"Do you think the infection would go away if I stopped using headphones?"

"I don't know if it would but the pain would surely spread to your neck or lower jaw and that might be difficult to handle so it's better to get it checked."

"my jaw did hurt yesterday..." he drifts off to a moment of deep thought, "thanks, I'll get it checked tomorrow."

"Cool. Do you mind if I ask how often do you use your earphones? I am a bit confused about the cause of the infection coz the swelling couldn't just be coz of the-

"Aight, Y'all are so cute but I have to sleep so I'm gonna go to bed now," Jennie interrupts and stands up to leave. You slap her shoulder lightly for joking about your extremely professional conversation with a person you accused of being your stalker. You accompany her to her bedroom, leaving jungkook alone in the living room for some minutes.

"I don't get why you're being so toxic," you whisper to her as you enter her room. "I told you guys I wanted him to stay away from me and you bring him to our place???"

"Listen, you narcissist," she chuckles, "this isn't about you," she whispers. You didn't know if it was a joke or a fact masked by a joke or just a fact. "Your paranoid ass thinks he's a criminal, mine doesn't. I needed help so I asked for it," she shrugs, "unlike you," she adds. "He helped me come here and carry all that food. End of the story," she states, still whispering coz she knows the house isn't sound proof. She hops on her bed and puts her duvet on, "Also, next time, maybe try not being so compatible with his musician-with-ear-issues-you-can-solve-can-cook-and-clean-unlike-you ass so we could leave you alone," she snickers.

"Most people cook, clean and use ear damaging products 24/7 in this generation, that makes me compatible with everyone, what's your point?" You whisper-yell exasperatingly. "I'm starting to think you just want your bestie out there to keep his mouth shut so you could protect your namjoon situation."

"Yes and No," she shifts on her bed to lie down comfortably and closes her eyes. "Turn off the lights when you leave," she says out loud.

When you come out of Jennie's room, you find jungkook doing dishes in the kitchen. "Thought I'd help," he says and passes a tight-lipped smile. You turn to get some food from the the living room, which is just a few steps away from the kitchen, but find nothing but cleanliness on your table. "I kept the leftovers in your fridge," he informs after noticing your surprised form. He had cleaned up the entire area, which almost made your own place seem foreign to you.

You don't know if it's the guilt of making someone else do your work or shame but you walk back to the kitchen and decide to help with the dishes. You find out he's almost done washing all of them so you shrug your shoulders in your imagination and leave it up to him to wash the few left.

You open your fridge to serve yourself some food Jennie brought from Jin's restaurant. You take a bite of the food and couldn't help but appreciate it, "this is heaven," You exclaim. Jungkook turns around to find you in front of the fridge grabbing some more of what you just tasted. He looks over at the container in your hand and let's out a giggle. "No shit, Jin should be awarded for making it taste good even when it's cold," you comment, finally closing the fridge after filling up your plate.

"Actually," Jungkook starts to add but stops. He wants to say he prepared what you've been admiring for the past minute but he doesn't know if you'd wanna appreciate it without filter in front of him or whether you'd want to have it considering the fact that you think he's a shady person. "Nevermind," he turns around and goes back to washing the dishes.

"What're you hiding now?" You appear next to him. "what were you going to say?" You squint your eyes suspiciously as you chew on your cold bulgogi mixed with rice. You don't mind late night carbs at this point.

"I was gonna suggest you to heat it up but it's good when it's cold too," jungkook says as he goes on to clean your kitchen's counter after washing your dishes, avoiding all kinds of eye contact. Your sussy eyes get sus-ier as you observe him. Your gaze forces him to stop, turn around, exhale a sigh, and ask "what?"

"You don't even know me," you state, "You've never seen me sober, I am a very boring person. This," you say and point at your face, "isn't who I am." Jungkook pokes the inside of his cheek as he starts to understands where the conversation is headed. He leans against the kitchen counter, crosses his arms across his chest and faces you, who stood right next to him, to listen to your reality check speech. "I am always drunk around you so you have no idea what I'm really like," you push your glasses up your nose like an anime character as you put forth your argument, "therefore, you should reconsider your choices."

"Or... maybe this is who you really are," he suggests, "without a mask or a filter, free from what you should be or want to be," he adds, looking into your eyes making you introspect your existence. A weirdly long second of silence later, he continues, "or maybe not, what do I know?" and turns around to wash his hands.

"no, no, you're right, I believe you," you respond. "After all, you have great observation skills," you say with a smile, "All stalkers do," you add.

He lets out a "ah shib-" under his breath, stopping himself from cursing. He figured you were gonna convince him to un-crush you, which is a very awkward conversation to have but he didn't expect it go back to the hell hole he was trynna escape.

He wipes his freshly washed hands on his pants and faces you to continue. "I swear on my unreleased songs, Ive never stalked you or anyone in my life," he states.

"Oh Really? Sorry, I couldn't read it when you texted it like a million times today."

"Prolly coz you called me a stalker a million times," he states as a matter of fact.

"Because spamming women is creepy!"

"I know! I didn't think I wouldn't be blocked so I didn't think at all, I'm sorry!"

"what do you mean?!"

"I thought you'd just block me, move on, then forget everything. It'll all just die down some way or the other."

"Oh now it's my fault you spammed your ass?" You put your plate aside and cross your arms.

"I didn't say that. I'm just saying, I didnt expect you to text me back and then... when you did... i...," his eyes roll up and he stares at the ceiling as he tries to think of words and avoid eye contact at the same time, "kinda wanted it to be that way," he adds, still staring at the ceiling, "and... i thought..." his eyes shift down to the fridge, which was behind you but in a corner "i thought you liked talking to justin seagull coz he was like a bad boy that you were into and-

"Bad boy? Seriously?" You cut him off to give him 'the look.' "So you were literally pretending to be someone else?" You add, surprised and done with his scenarios.

"Well, not all the time..." he looks down and scratches the back of his head, "i mean, everything that i said that was cheesy or offensive, wasn't me," he looks at you and declares.

"But you said it"

"I normally wouldn't."

"But you thought of it."

"No, google did. I googled stuff. I saw how-to-be-a-bad-boy tutorials, not even kidding. I thought that'd help coz i heard women are into bad boys these days,' he explains. His brows rise up as his big eyes appear making him look innocent.

You blink.

You take a couple of seconds to comprehend

And blink.

You couldn't think of a response.

"Are you for real, dude?" You ask incredulously.

"I know, it's embarrassing," he sighs. "anyway, all I wanted to say was, I know i was being weird and creepy and everything you feel right now is my fault and that's why i have done nothing but apologized to you all day," he says, calmly, in one breath.

You look him in the eyes for a second. "I think you should leave," you state.

"Can't single people have some sleep in this house?!" Jennie immediately invades the conversation as her voice travels from her room to the rest of the apartment.

"Goodnight," Jungkook whispers and passes a tight lipped smile. He turns around to leave. You follow him to the door so you could lock it as soon as he steps out.

The moment he walks out of your apartment, he stops and turns back to face you right before you could close the door. "I think you should see a therapist," he says before you slam the door in his face.]
