We finally arrive at camp after jogging quietly through the dark forest.

'You guys have a cave?' Travis asks bewildered as we come up to the entrance.

'Yeah, we found it while we were out looking for food' I reply.

We enter the cave and take off our weapons.

'Jake, Mary, show our new friends around' I say as I take out all of my ammo and the ammo from the other two trams we took down and place them on the pile of weapons and ammo we made before.

'Holy crap, you guys are loaded! No wonder every team wants to be allied with you' Travis says impressed at our stock of weapons.

I smile sheepishly. 'Its nothing really, we took down a team after they took down another team and we took both their weapons and their ammo' I say.

'Still, its impressive' Travis says.

I nod my head in agreement.

'So, other teams want to ally themselves with me huh? I ask laughing.

Travis laughs, 'Yeah, Everyone knows that allying with your team is an assured victory' Travis replies.

'That's good, means they will try to eliminate the other teams before going against us' I say.

Travis nods in agreement. 'Or they will all gang up on us to try and take us out early' He says grinning.

I laugh. 'They gotta find us first' I reply.

Travis laughs and nods in agreement.

We make our way to the main chamber where the rest of our teams are at.

'Hello everyone' I say as I walk in.

'Hey sir' The Howlers say saluting me.

I give a wave of my hand. 'Please, no formalities while we are at the field. We are all equals here' I said.

They all give me a nod.

'So what's the plan Nicolas' Tabby asks.

FORTY MINUTES LATER...

Finally we have a plan. I gave out many ideas, and Travis kept pointing out the flaws in them. I could see where he was coming from so I didn't fight him on them.

We actually made a good team. I would voice a plan, Travis would find the faults and if they were too great of flaws then we would abandon it.

Finally we just decided to wait it out and see how many teams are left in the end.

'OK guys, let's get some sleep. Me and Tabby will take first watch at the entrance. We will switch off every four hours' I say.

Everyone nods and curls up to sleep.

Tabby and me go straight to the entrance where we bunker down.

'I've been wanting to talk to you alone Captain' Tabby says.

I raise an eyebrow. 'Just talk eh?' I ask smiling.

Even in the dark I can see her blushing. 'Yeah' She says.

I grin. 'OK what's up'

'I wanted to know more about you. You rarely ever talk about yourself in the mess hall' She starts.

I nod my head in understanding.

'There's not much for me to say. I didn't have a great and exciting life like everyone here' I reply.

'I don't believe that for a second. Has to be better than mine' She says.

'Not much better' I say. 'OK ask away and I'll answer honestly.

She thinks for a minute before speaking. 'Do you have any family back home'

I nod my head. 'Yeah, a younger sister, older brother and my dad' I reply.

'Really? Tell me about them' she says.

'Not much to tell. I'm close to my sister, or I used to be until this happened. I always hated my dad, ever since mom died, he would blame me for it. Its probably because I have her eyes, or because she died trying to save my ass' I say.

'I'm so sorry, it must have been hard growing up. I know what it feels like to lose your mom' She says.

I shake my head. 'I lost my mom AND dad that day, along with my brother' I reply, tears starting to run down my face.

I go to wipe my tears away when I feel Tabby's hands do it for me.

We stand there, Tabby wiping my tears away for what seemed like eternity.

Then Tabby kisses me softly in the mouth and hugs me.

I was not expecting that at all.

'I'm sorry' she whispers in my ear.

''Its alright, I feel better now that you know' I whisper back.

We pull apart at the same time and sit down, continuing our watch.

I feel Tabby's hand go into mine and I can't help the smile that comes to my face. I look at Tabby to see her smiling too.

We continue our watch, retiring to the inner chamber after waking up two Howlers to replace us.

I lay down on the floor and Tabby instantly comes to my side. I smile, wrapping my arm around her waist, bringing her closer to my chest.

I kiss her softly on her forehead and go to sleep, exhausted from the days work.

We wake up in the morning and find that it was raining.

'This is good, it will help hide the entrance to our cave' I stated.

Travis nods his head in agreement.

For the whole day we stayed inside the cave telling stories.

I finally got around to properly meet the Howlers members.

They had three boys and one girl in their team.

Their names were Travis, Leonardo (Leo for short) Olivia and Zack.

After introducing ourselves we start getting along much better. We start practicing hand to hand combat with each other, sharing our knowledge. I won against Travis and Zack, they were easy. I just played close attention to their movement, allowing me to predict where and when they would strike.

Next up was Tabby against Olivia. Travis goes to talk to Olivia and I do the same with Tabby.

'Alright Tabby, When you start, save your energy. Wait for an opening. And always pay attention to your opponent's movement. It helps you predict their next attack, its how I won against Travis and Zack' I whisper to her.

She gives me a small nod and goes into position. I back up and stand next to Travis.

'Your girlfriend is so going to lose' Travis says to me grinning.

I laugh. 'I doubt that, but lets see'

Tabby and Olivia circle one another, looking for gaps in each others defenses. Olivia then charges Tabby, throwing a hook to the face.

Tabby dodges it, countering with a quick jab to Olivia's face. Successfully connecting, Tabby continues with a left uppercut to the stomach. I swear I've never seen anyone swing as fast as Tabby did. Even I would have a hard time defending myself against Tabby.

Before we knew it the fight was over, Tabby had won.

I walk over, congratulate Olivia on her good thinking. 'I still didn't win' She says smiling.

I laugh. 'But you tried' I say and look over at Tabby who is right next to me.

'And good job to you as well, I barely even saw your arm move. I would seriously have a hard time standing my ground against you' I say truthfully.

Tabby smiles, slightly blushing at the complement.

Travis and the Howlers then walk over and congratulate the girls.

'That was THE FASTEST punches I have ever seen!' Leo says excited.

'Hope I don't have to go against Tabby any time soon' Zack said.

We all laugh. 'Thanks for volunteering Zack' Travis says.

We all laugh some more.

After a few more rounds we retire to the inner chamber of the long tunnel cave. Eating dinner we hear the speakers go off.

'This is Captain Anderson speaking. There are eight teams left. Those teams being, Sun Raiders, Red Suns, Spartans, The Howlers, Swift Runners, The Silent Wolves, the Omega Team and the Howling Giants' The Captain announces.

When the speakers shut off, we all look at beach other.

'We are going to win this' I declared.

Travis nods his head in agreement.

'But don't get cocky and don't let your guards down. And no celebrating until we win this' I say turning to face my team and Travis's team.

They each nod and start to get ready for bed.

'Travis, I need to talk to you. We need to come up with a different plan' I say walking up to him.

'Of course, lead the way' He says.

I lead us to the inner chamber and take a left to the armory.

I feel an arm going around my waist and turn to see Tabby walking next to me.

'Didn't think I'd leave you alone for a second did you?' She asks smiling.

'I hoped you wouldn't' I reply giving her a kiss.

I hear someone say "Yuck!" and turn around to see Travis.

'Get a room you two' He says causing me and Tabby to laugh.

'Sorry, forgot you were following for a minute there' I give him an apologetic smile.

'Its cool, just please keep your clothes on until the meeting is over' He says laughing.

Tabby couldn't hold it much longer as she bursts out laughing.

'No promises' I say walking inside the armory.

We find a good place to sit down and start brainstorming ideas. For over an hour I voice ideas and Travis voices the flaws.

Finally we settle for a simple plan.
