I wake up, feeling like I just got run over by a car. I look around and immediately find that I'm not in my room. There are other kids here, many kids.

I walk up to a girl my age. 'Do you know what's going on or where we are?' I ask her.

She shakes her head no. I frown. Someone has to know where we are.

Then I remember my dream, or at least I thought it was a dream. I got poked with something.

Just as I was about to ask someone else what's going on, the door to my left opens, revealing 4 people in dark green camp armor, assault rifles in their hands.

The man in front scans the room. 'Alright kids, follow me. And stay together, single file line' He shouts.

We are all startled and rush to make a single line.

He leads us through several hallways, through many rooms and finally stop in front of a set of double doors. 2 of his men step forward and open the doors, allowing us to enter.

I can't help but shiver in fear. Where am I? Who are these people? I kept asking myself.

When we enter the room, it looks like a giant dome, with roll after roll of chairs with a stage in the very middle.

In the middle of the stage are a man and a woman. As I look at them, I can't help feeling like I saw them before. I shrug it off and keep moving until a man shoves me into a seat.

'You don't like to pay attention, do you boy? Don't worry, we will be fixing that soon' He yells in my face.

I feel my eyes tear up. I want to go home. Why are these people doing to me. Where's my mom and dad?

I look up at the stage as the man starts speaking.

'Welcome kids, to the alpha base. This will be your new home. My name is Richard Reed, and this here is Dr. Phillips' He says pointing at the woman in a lad coat next to him.

'From this moment on, you are all property of the BlackWatch Military.

You will do as your told, failure to obey orders will not be tolerated. You have all been hand picked to be the greatest soldiers that ever lived. You will be instruments of war, the right hand of the BlackWatch. Now get up and follow the instructors, they will take you to the barracks where you will sleep. Training starts tomorrow' Richard finishes, waving his hand and walking away.

I get up from my seat and follow the armored instructor. Walking out of the Dome Room, We walk for what seems like ages before we arrive at a large room filled with bunk beds.

'This will be your home. You will take good care of your new home, You will keep your home clean. If you decide to make a mess, everyone will get down on their knees and clean the entire room inch by inch, do I make myself clear' The instructor yells.

We all nod our heads.

'When I ask a question you will all say "Yes Sir" so I ask again, Do I make myself clear?' He asks again.

'Yes Sir' We all shout.

'Good, pick a bunk and go to sleep' He orders.

I go to the nearest bunk, aiming for the bottom one when a girl goes for the same one.

'Go ahead, I can take the top bunk' I say quietly.

'Thank you' She mumbles.

I climb up to the bed and lay down, Falling asleep instantly.

THE NEXT MORNING...

I wake up to loud sound. I jump out of my bed, falling on the floor with a thud.

'Oh good, since your in the floor already, give me 15 push ups' The drill instructor yells over me.

I scramble to push up position and do 15 push ups, counting them aloud.

I get up from the floor and stand next to my bunkmate.

'Good, now listen up. Today you will all be taught how to stand at attention and so on and so forth' The instructor yells.

It went on like that all day, the instructors teaching us stuff and us trying to learn the stuff.

The second day was harder than the first. We had to do exercises all day.

'30 Jumping jacks, GO!' the instructor yells.

All you here is kids counting aloud, '1 jumping Jack, 2 jumping jack, 3 jumping jack' and the sometimes a loud thud as a kid passes out in the formation.

SIX YEARS LATER...

We all run through the compound, headed towards an obstacle course we are supposed to run.

As we pass through the entrance to a fenced area, we see the beginning of the obstacle course. 'Looks impossible to beat' I hear a kid say behind me.

I ignore it and keep running, stopping in front of the course.

'Alright, now listen up because I'm only going to explain what to do once' The instructor orders.

We all turn our heads toward him.

'The objective of this course is to get the red flag at the end of the course. You will be split into teams of four, since there are so many of you. In order to win, you must make it through and retrieve the flag and bring it to me. The last team to return will be made to clean the barracks without supper' He finishes.

After that he splits us into groups of four.

I get stuck with two girls and a big kid.

'Hey, I'm Nicolas' I say offering my hand to my team mates.

The boy just looks at it and turns away, I look at the girl in the left and she scoffs and looks away. I was about to say something when the other girl takes my hand, 'I'm Tabitha' she says shaking my hand.

I smile. 'Let's win this' I say with enthusiasm.

She smiles. 'We are definitely going to win' Tabby says.

My other two teammates ignore me and tabby, looking at the course. I look at it to, selecting the fastest route to the flags. After finding one good one, I share the information with my team.

'Hey you, I say pointing at the boy, Me and you are going to get 4 paddles for the row boat.Tabby, are you fast? I ask.

Tabby nods her head, 'And you, are you fast as well? I ask the other girl.

She nods.

'Good, I need the two of you to secure us the rope over there' I say pointing to the rope. 'Don't let the other teams get past you two' I order.

They both nod their heads.

We approach the white starting line and get in running position.

The horn goes off and we take off.

Tabby and the other girl are way ahead of everyone. Damn, they are super fast I said in my mind as me and the guy run to get paddles.

Stopping at the paddle pile, me and my partner take 2 paddles each and run towards the two girls. As we get there 2 guys try to push past the girls. I run up and push one away while my partner pushes the other.

'Nice work girls' I say handing a paddle to Tabby, while my partner gives a paddle to the other girl.

'Let's go' I order, getting a grip on the rope and swinging off, landing in the other side of the giant sandbox. I throw the rope back and wait for the rest of my team to swing over.

Once Tabby's feet land on the ground we take off towards the boat. We climb in, and start rowing. Once we get to the big pole in the middle of the water I look up and see the flags in the middle of the pole.

'You' I say pointing at the boy. 'Hold on to the pole, so the boat doesn't drift off' I order. He looks like he is about to reject the order when I continue.

'Girls, be on the lookout, I'm going to climb up, toss down a flag and take the rest of the flags higher up the pole so it takes everyone longer to get them, I need you two to catch the flag' I say.

They both nod and I begin climbing. Climbing was pretty easy, for me anyways.

As I get to the flags, I lock my legs so I don't slide down. I pick up a flag and toss it to the girls. Then proceed to getting all the flags and climbing higher. Once at the top I tie the flags to the very top and slide down to the boat.

When I hit the floor of the boat, we start rowing back to where we got the boat.

Then we take off back towards the starting line where the instructors are waiting.

I come to a full stop in front of the instructor, breathing heavily. My team stops right behind me, Tabby giving the flag to the instructors.

We won! I said in my mind.

The boy then comes up to me. 'That was a great plan Nicolas, My name is Jake' He says extending his sweaty hand to me. I take it in mine and shake it, smiling. 'Thanks Jake' I say friendly.

The girl then comes to me. 'I'm Marian, but you guys can call me Mary. And its us who should be thanking you. I hadn't thought of any plan until you started ordering us around. Your a good leader' Mary says.

I nod at her. 'Thanks'

For the first time in my life, I actually felt good about myself. My team and I were led to the cafeteria where we were given special treats for winning the challenge.
