"So that's it? No more karate?" Demetri asked.

It was now their free period and the group was spending it in the library studying. Sonny had Romeo and Juliet open as she sat across from Miguel and Demetri while Eli sat at the head of the table between Miguel and Sonny.

"I guess so." Miguel said and Demetri shrugged. "It's probably for the best. It was starting to boost your confidence." "Demetri..." Sonny warned, looking up from her book but he ignored her, keeping his eyes on Miguel. "Isn't that a good thing?" "No." Demetri answered.

"What has confidence ever gotten anybody except for a black eye and their backpack thrown in the trash?" Demetri spoke and Sonny scoffed, pulling her legs up to the seat and sitting criss cross on the chair. "Please don't remind me of that. It took hours to clean."

"Well, I thought it was kinda cool how you stood up to Kyler." Eli slowly spoke. Sonny turned to him and smiled, nodding her head as Demetri scoffed. "No! Are you insane? Let me ask you guys... What is the best superpower anyone could have?"

"Super strength." Miguel instantly spoke as Sonny tried to think of an answer in her head but before she could think of an answer, Demetri spoke up. "Wrong. Invisibility. A distant second could be super speed to run away fast."

"Run away from who?" A voice spoke up from between Eli and Sonny, making the group jump. It was Kyler and Brucks. Sonny shut her book in shock, slowly turning to face the two.

"Whom." Brucks corrected, making Sonny's face scrunch. "It's the object of a preposition. Remember in English class-" "We were just leaving." Sonny said, getting up from her seat and walking around the table the long way so she wouldn't have to pass Kyler and Brucks but Kyler got Eli which made Sonny stop walking.

"Hey, where you going? Oh, look at this freak." Kyler said, lifting Eli's head up to look at his scar. Sonny glared at the boys as Miguel slowly stepped in front of her and Demetri.

Brucks starts fake gagging as Kyler laughs. "What kind of girl would ever kiss this shit?"

"Leave him alone, Kyler." Sonny snapped and Demetri quickly put a hand over Sonnys mouth. Kyler looked to Sonny, pushing Eli away from him and walked towards her. "What'd you say, bitch?"

Miguel quickly got in between Sonny and Kyler, glaring at the boy. "Back off."

Kyler raised his brows at Miguel. "You haven't had enough, Rhea?" Kyler pushed Miguel, before pushing hi out of the room by the head. "Yeah. Get the hell out of here, man."

Sonny watched Miguel walk away and Eli scurry after him, leaving only her and Demetri with the boys. Before they could make it out of the room, Kyler grabbed Demetri's backpack. "Hey, you don't want this shit. Or this." Kyler said, grabbing the book out of Sonny's hand.

"No, Come on..." Demetri groaned, walking up to the boys but Kyler pushed him back into Sonny, the girl grabbing her friend so he didn't fall over as Kyler threw Demetri's backpack and Sonny's book in the trash. "I just threw a yogurt in there..." Demetri mumbled, making the boys laugh again. "Now it's double dip."

Demetri reached his hand into the trash, pulling his backpack and Sonny's book out. Sonny huffed at all the yogurt on her book, it falling into the trash open leaving many of the pages covered in yogurt. "Dammit." Sonny cursed under her breath as Kyler and Brucks walked away.

Sonny looked up to Demetri. "I'm gonna try to clean this." Demetri nodded and Sonny ran out of the library, heading towards the ladies room. She sat the book down on the little shelf they had by the mirror where girls do their makeup as she walked towards the sinks, grabbing a bunch of paper towels.

Sonny tried to softly wipe away the food but after only two wipes, the ink started to smudge and the pages started to grow soggy and rip. Sonny cursed under her breath, throwing the book on the ground. "Screw you!" Sonny screamed as the book hit the ground. She tried to catch her breath, bringing her hands up to her hair, gripping her roots tightly as if she were gonna rip them out.

Sonny tried to control her breathing as the bathroom door opened. Sonny looked away from the door, hoping whoever walked in would leave her alone but of course, they didn't. "Sonny? You okay?" Sonny shut her eyes tight at Moons concerned voice. Moon walked up to Sonny grabbing Sonnys sides in comfort. Sonny took one last deep breath before retracting her hands from her hair and turning to face the girl. "Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine." Sonny spoke, a tiny sniffle coming out between her words, making Moon shake her head. "You're lying."

"No, I'm not." Sonny quickly replied as Moons eyes fell on Sonnys yogurt covered book. She leaned down to get it, making Sonny huff. Moon looked down at the book in her hands sadly before looking up at Sonny. "Who did this?"

Sonny bit her lip, not knowing if she should answer but as soon as her eyes locked with Moons, she spilled. "Kyler." Moon shook her head, almost as if she didn't believe Sonny. "Why?"

"Because he's an asshole." Sonny muttered, making Moon sigh. "He's not that bad, Sonny"

"Yes he is! He just made fun of the way my best friend looks, called me a bitch, and then threw me and my friends stuff into a trash full of yogurt. He's an ass, Moon. I'm sorry. But you're friends with an ass." Sonny snapped, not meaning to hurt the girls feelings, which she didn't. Sonny dryly chuckled, leaning against the wall.

"I just... I don't get it. You're like one of the sweetest people but you're friends with complete assholes!" Sonny scoffs and Moon's face turns a little angry as she walked closer to Sonny. "Kyler called you a bitch?" Sonny turned to Moon, noticing how upset the girl was and shrugged. "Yeah. But it's fine. I'm used to it."

"You shouldn't be though." Moon whispered. It was quiet for a few seconds before Moon grabbed Sonnys hand, dragging her out of the room. "Woah, Moon. Where are we going?" Sonny asked as Moon threw away Sonnys book as she passed a new by trashcan. "Wh- Moon!" Sonny whined, going to grab the book from the trash but Moon pulled her harder, making Sonny run into Moon.

Moon interlocked their fingers and swung their hands as they walked towards the car. Sonny hopped into the passenger seat as Moon turned on the car. "So... are you going to tell me where we're going?"

"It's a surprise." Moon whispered with a smirk. Sonny rolled her eyes, trying to hold back a smile and turning to look out the window.

After about 10 minutes of driving, Moon finally parked. "We're here!" Moon cheered, making Sonny turn to see where they were parked. "Why are we at Barnes and Noble?" Sonny asked, turning to face Moon. "Well, since Kyler messed up your book, we are getting you a new one. Now, chop chop. Let's go." Moon said with a happy smile, tapping Sonnys hand and getting out of the car. Sonny smiled, looking down at her feet before getting out of the car as well.

"So, just Romeo and Juliet, right?" Moon asked as they walked around the shelves of books. Sonny hummed, nodding her head. "Yep. It's got a red heart on the cover with vines around it."

"I didn't see you as a Shakespeare reader. The only Romeo and Juliet I care about is Taylor Swifts 'Love Story'." Moon mumbled and Sonny shot her head to face her. "I love Taylor!"

Moon laughed, looking at all the books as Sonny sighed. "I don't even know why I'm reading the book. I don't understand like half the pages. 'Thy love shall flow through thee trees till it's meets its home in thou grass'. Like what?" Moon laughed, bringing a hand to her mouth to cover her smile. "Honestly, screw Romeo and Juliet. I should just find some book about a girl going to New York, meeting some other girl and falling in love. Yeah... I'm gonna find that." Sonny mumbled, walking away to another shelf.

Moon froze, following Sonny. "So, you like-" "I like both... but so far the only real crush I've had is on a girl, the only men that I have fallen for are fictional ones. You know, Steve Harrington, Bucky Barnes, Stiles Stilinski..." Moon cut her off, giggling. Sonny smiled, turning to Moon, she felt blush take over her cheeks, making her look back to the shelves.

"So... you're crush... who is it? Do I know her?" Moon asked with a smirk. Sonny felt panic rise as she awkwardly chuckled. "Uh... She goes to school with us. But that's all I'm telling you." Moon sighed, looking back towards the shelves. "Fine. Don't tell me." She spoke in a fake angry tone, making Sonny calm down a bit. Moon turned to Sonny, giving her a smile. "She'd be lucky to have you." Moon mumbled.

Sonny smiled, looking down at her feet before looking back up at the shelves. "Hey, have you ever read this? People always talk about the movies." Moon spoke a few feet away from Sonny. She turned to see what more was holding and instantly smiled. "You've never read Harry Potter?" Sonny gawked, making Moon look down at the ground shyly. Sonny walked up to Moon, taking the book out of her hands, putting it back in the shelf and grabbing Moons hand. "Come on. I have them at home."

"Can we watch the movies too?"
