Sonny and Devon didn't help the boys move Robby and Demetri's things into Miguel and Hawks room. The two girls met back up with Sam and they wandered the gift shop.

Devon dragged the older girls around the whole shop, practically bouncing off the walls in excitement at all of the cute knick-knacks.

They each walked out of the shop with at least one thing. Devon got a bag of whale gummies, Sam bought a sweatshirt, and Sonny bought two turtle stuffed animals; one for her and one for Moon.

They decided to head back to the rooms and check on the boys. Part of Sam didn't believe Sonny and Devon when they told her Robby and Demetri lost their room, but when Demetri opened the door for the three of them and she saw all of their bags spread across the room, Sam sighed.

"Well, this sucks." Sam grumbled, walking further into the room.

Sonny shook her head, making a beeline towards the bed Eli was laying on. "Not a very smart gamble, boys." She muttered, flopping onto the bed, landing on Eli's knees.

Eli let out a quiet yelp in pain, punching Sonny in the shoulder. Sonny whipped her head to face Eli, maneuvering to sit beside him as she punched him back. "Ow! Bitch!"

"Yeah. Somebody said it wasn't gonna be a gamble." Demetri snapped, eyeing Robby as he past by him.

"I didn't want to get involved, remember? I told you to stay away from Cobra Kai. It's so simple." Robby snapped, grumbling the last part under his breath. Sonny squinted at the boy and Eli sarcastically raised his eyebrows.

"If it's so simple, why didn't you follow your own advice?" Hawk asked and Sonny instantly brought her thumb to her mouth, nervously chewing on her nail.

Robby turned to the two, his eyes squinted and his head tilted, almost challenging Hawk. "What are you talking about?" Robby asked and Hawk looked around the room, gesturing his hands out.

"We all saw you talking to Tory." He said and as he started to put his hands down, he grabbed Sonny's sleeve and tugged her hand down with his so she'd stop biting her nail.

Sonny sighed as soon as her thumb was out of reach and shook her head. "Come on. I mean, she's his girlfriend." Sonny tried to defend Robby and Miguel, who was sitting by Hawk and Sonny's feet, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he's dealing with her decisions. Same as the rest of us."

"I wouldn't say that exactly." Sam muttered under her breath. Everyone turned to her and she looked up from her hands and to Robby. "You knew Kreese came to Tory."

Sonny turned to Robby, her jaw falling as she looked at him with a looked mixed with shock and hurt. "What?" She asked, her voice quiet.

Robby looked at Sonny, opening his mouth to speak and deny Sam's words, but he sighed, shaking his head and turning to the floor. "Yeah. I... I mean, I knew Kreese went to Tory, yeah, but it was before her mom died. And he was trashing Miyagi-Do, saying she wasn't gonna have a fair shot. She told him to get lost. Come on. I didn't know she was gonna do this."

"Really? This is what Kreese does! He played her and he played you. And you lied to us about it." Sam said and Sonny looked down at her hands. She wanted to bite her nail again, her hand was practically shaking to go up to her mouth, but she knew if she tried to, Hawk would just smack her hand away from her face again.

"Come on, guys. That's not fair. I didn't lie." Robby said, desperately trying to get someone to agree with him. His eyes moved to every person in the room, but no one had the courage to look back at him.

Sonny, after a couple seconds, did look up at Robby. She replayed what he had said in her mind and from the sound of it, Robby didn't know Tory was gonna go to Cobra Kai, only that she was offered it.

Robby's eyebrows raised, a sense of relief washing over his body as he looked to his co-captain. "Sonny?" He asked, hoping that Sonny looking up was her way of telling him she believed him.

Sonny opened her mouth to speak, whatever she was about to say would affect how the team respected Robby for the time being. But before she could get any words out, her phone started to buzz in her pocket.

When she reached for her phone, Robby's eyes closed and his shoulders deflated. Sonny nervously looked up at her team once she saw who was calling and started to get out of bed "I'm sorry, I've gonna go. This is Moon."

She started to walk out of the hotel room, making sure to grab her purse and her gift shop bag. She looked back at her team as she started to accept the phone call. "I'll see you guys in the morning. Please, get some rest."

Sonny woke up the next morning to all four boys repeatedly banging on her door. She tried to hide her face in her pillow but their knocks got louder and she started to hear them call her name from the other side of the door.

When she did finally let them in, they all walked inside bickering about how Demetri's farts kept them up all night. She ignored them, but they continued the entire time she got ready, Demetri and Eli even hovering by through bathroom door she was changing in so they could continue to fight.

When it was time to start the next round, Sonny stood beside Robby and Miguel on the edge of the mat as Gunther announced the next competition. "The time has come. Welcome to our first event. I hope you're all well rested and ready for a new and unique competition, We call it the 'Captain's War.' We told you how important your captains will be. So let's see how well you protect them."

Sonny nervously licked her lips, her hands fidgeting behind her back. Miguel bumped his shoulder into hers, trying to calm Sonny down a bit and she smiled.  

"Four dojos will take the mat. Only one will be left standing. If you hit the mat, you're out. If one of your captains hit the mat, your entire team is out for this round." Gunther raised his hand and gestured to the board with all of the team names behind him. "Check the board to see your group decided by random draw. Group A, you're up."

Sonny looked up to the board and immediately sighed when she saw Miyagi-Do was Group A with Cobra Kai.

"Cobra Kai, of course." Daniel tiredly laughed out, the rest of the team either groaning, or shaking their heads as they circled up.

"Okay, we've gotta let them come to us. Protect the egg and make sure Sonny and Robby are safe." Miguel said and Sonny nodded, that was exactly what she was going to suggest.

Robby shook his head. "I can be on the front line." He offered and Miguel immediately shook his head. "No. Just stay back and stay focused."

Robby's face twisted. "Why wouldn't I be focused?" He asked and Miguel shrugged as if it were obvious.

"You did leave the hotel room last night." Miguel muttered and Sonny looked eyes with Hawk across the circle. The boy shrugged his shoulders, silently telling her he didn't know what Miguel was talking about.

Johnny and Daniel stepped forward, making all the kids turn to their senseis. "I know it hasn't always been pretty lately, but no one could ever count us out. You hear me? Do it for each other." Daniel said, looking between the seven teens.

Miyagi-Do nodded to Daniel before turning to their other sensei. Johnny looked the kids over, a big smile growing on his face. "And wipe the smirks off their ugly faces."

Sonny stifled a laugh, her head dripping to try and keep some seriousness.

"Ready? Begin!"

Demetri looked around the three other teams and his eyes widened when he saw Tory heading right to Sonny.

"Sonny, look out!" He screamed. Sonny turned her head but it was and before she could get out of Tory's way, Demetri jumped in front of her, taking the blow of Demetri's hit and knocking him to the ground.

"Shit!" Sonny yelled, looking down at Demetri as Devon stepped in to fight Tory.

"Demetri's out! Protect the egg!" Miguel screamed, her whole team, including Robby, running to start fights.

Sonny wanted to jump in and help her team even if it wasn't the plan. She felt silly just staying back while everyone else fought, but her team physically didn't let anyone get past them and to her.

"Robby, stay back!" Miguel yelled and Sonny turned to Robby, sighing when she saw him fighting two people.

"Are you kidding me?" She muttered under her breath. Sonny ran towards Robby, jumping up and kicking one of the boys away from him.

Sonny ended up knocking the boy to the floor, the other one still fighting Robby when she suddenly felt arms wrap around her and lift her off the ground.

"Holy shit!" She screamed, and Daniel's eyes widened from the sidelines. "Guys, protect Sonny. We can't have her go down." He yelled as Sonny tried to kick herself out of the boys grasp.

"Sensei, I got my hands full!" She could hear Eli yell.

The boy holding Sonny suddenly threw her, hoping she'd land on her back.

But Sonny twisted in the air, and she stretched her arms out, her palms slapping the ground before her back could make contact. She pushed off the mat, turning the momentum into a back handspring.

When she landed, the crowd erupted into cheers and screams. Sonny's heart pounded, but she couldn't help the slight smirk tugging at her lips when she heard her team behind her cheering her on.

She glanced up at the boy that threw her and caught the look on his face—wide eyed, pale, and utterly stunned that she actually landed.

Sonny had never been more grateful for Moon forcing her into cheerleading.

Since he was distracted, Sonny darted forward, spun on her heel, launching herself into a spinning kick. Her foot connected with his jaw, and he hit the mat.

Sonny caught as she stared down at her opponent. She looked around the room and noticed the only people left on her team were herself, Miguel, and Robby.

Sonny's eyes continued to look around the stage until her eyes landed on Tory, just finishing kicking a Falchi Della Notte to the ground.

Tory looked up, locking eyes with Sonny.

Sonny thought back on the day prior, where she told Tory she wasn't gonna hold back. Her fists clenched at her side and she took a deep breath before running at the blonde.

Tory met Sonny in the middle, blocking her fists. Sonny took a barely noticeable step back to get some room to kick Tory, but the girl noticed and hit Sonny's leg, and throwing it back down.

While Sonny tried to regain her footing, Tory kicked her own leg out, hoping to hit Sonny in the head. Sonny yelped, bending down and just barely dodging the kick.

"Miyagi-Do captain down!" Gunther yelled, making Sonny turn her head, still bent down. She saw Robby laying on the ground, Kwon standing above him.

"Miyagi-Do is out!" Gunther yelled as Sonny started to stand up straight. She walked back towards her team, everyone looking bummed by there loss except.

She stood between Sam and Demetri, turning to watch the fight but Demetri looked down at Sonny beside him. "Hey." He said, making Sonny look away from the continuing round and up to Demetri.

He pursed his lips, struggling to look at Sonny now that her eyes were on him. "Nice back handspring." He muttered.

Sonny snickered, shaking her head as she looked down really quickly. She nodded, looking back up at Demetri and giving him a genuine smile. It's been a couple weeks since he's gotten one of those. He missed it.

"Thanks. And thanks for the sacrifice at the beginning of the fight." Sonny said and Demetri shrugged as if it were nothing.

"Just protecting my captain." He said, looking off to the fight.

"Falchi Della Notte captain down! They are out. Only Cobra Kai and the Iron Dragons remain alive!" Gunther yelled. Sonny looked away from Demetri and back to the stage.

Her eyes moved to the Iron Dragons, and her eyebrows shut up when she saw all of them still in the same positions they were in when the competition started.

"All seven of them are still standing?" Sonny whispered under her breath.

"How...?" Demetri muttered, absolutely shocked that none of them have gotten out yet.

Tory, Kwon, and Yoon ran for the seven and the five in the front row kneeled in sync, the only ones left standing were the captains.

The five students stood up and walked off the mat, letting their captains handle the fight.

The two Iron Dragons captains almost instantly took the Cobra Kai's to the ground, not even breaking a sweat.

Sonny watched the two of them bask in the audiences cheers. She licked her lips nervously and then trilled them. "I'm not liking this at all."
