Chapter three
'killing & flirting'

Berger groaned as the elevator had come to a stop, Lizzie was smart enough to hold onto the bar that was next to her in the elevator, but she still groaned, "how far down did we go?" Maya asked the group, her cheeks were still red because of what happened just a few seconds ago, "far" "i'd say were pretty far down" charlie whispered, while Liam had said this out loud, looking over at Maya who was still on the floor.

he held out a hand for her to take, which she did, "holy shit" dawn said out of breath, trying to catch her breath, her ponytail was almost gone as she started to walk out of the elevator, "yeah..i'm okay"Berger said, standing up last.

Lizzie took out her phone, turning on her flashlight as she tried to look around with it, as they started walking further and further, dawn looked in front of her, seeing the big space they had just discovered, "whoa this place is big" Maya said, dawn nodded, looking at the big space they had found, just as Maya said what she said, lights began to flicker on, "headquarters activating" an automated voice spoke.

echoing around the room, now that the lights had gone on Lizzie didn't need her flashlight from her phone anymore, doing the flashlight out, putting her phone back in pocket, dawn inhaled in excitement, before looking at charlie who was standing behind her, "come on, let's go check it out" she whispered, before moving her way to the stairs that wrapped around the place they were in

the rest following her, also walking to those stairs, "how- how far down are we?" Berger asked the group, looking into the darkness that just had a little bit of lights, "i don't know.." Dawn said, trailing off as she stepped on a stair, making a room light up, making it clearer for everyone, looking around in the space they saw all the cool stuff that they had now discovered, "holy shit" dawn said again, looking at the stuff that she was seeing, "holy shit indeed!" liam said, also looking at the stuff they had seen.

"this is so tight" Berger said, looking around, they were now standing on the balcony, they had a clear view over everything that was in that space, "this is beyond tight" Lizzie said, also looking around in the room they were in, "this is the tightest" maya said after that, also looking around, "look at that" charlie pointed before looking down, leaning on the railing, "come on guys over here" charlie said, something had appeared behind them making them run to the thing that had appeared, walking up to it, charlie made sure dawn was close by, he had wanted to protect the girl even if they weren't really in danger, "woah what's this?" Berger said

"okay how could he have built this? we're like a hundred miles underground." maya questioned, liam shrugged his shoulders, he didn't know how the guy that only had 2 knives could build that, charlie and dawn started to press buttons, a automated voice spoke up, greeting them, dawn hand quickly went off the controls, as she grabbed charlie's hand, not realising, and when she did realise she let go, charlie had again noticed dawn grabbing his hand, he had frozen in how he was standing before he noticed the missing warm contact that he was feeling, not wanting it to be noticed by anyone, moving his hand up, he went over to touch the floating earth that was shown to them.

charlie had clicked on the floating earth as it then started to play different stuff that had happened all around the world, charlie started to scroll more, only for him to stop, "current location: New Zealand" charlie said, reading what was shown on the earth, "that's far away" lizzie said, dawn cocked her head to the side as she nodded, charlie then zoomed into the mission, as everything started to show, "plane crash in Brazil" charlie read out, not believing what he was seeing, "nuclear meltdown in India" charlie said again, looking at everything that was playing infront of him.

Lizzie nudged dawn, who stood frozen by everything she was seeing, she wasn't scared or anything, she was just shocked, "that was all over the news!"Lizzie said, looking at dawn, pointing at the screen, "Tsunami in Japan" charlie said again, looking at the screen, swiping away the incidents as more and more came on there, "the thing in the empire state building." charlie said again, almost cutting himself of, looking at berger and then at dawn, "there are all the Guard's missions." charlie said, in disbelieve, something had snapped into charlie, something that he hadn't realised when he first saw, "we are in The Guards secret headquarters." charlie said, dawn had a smile on her face, and so did Lizzie, Berger was looking at his blonde friend, as for Maya and liam, they weren't really doing much, they were just shocked .

"which is totally under your dad's house!" dawn said, nodding her head as she thought of what she was saying, "do you realize what this means" Berger said, looking at his friend, "it means my dad... works for the Guard" Charlie said, trying to think of what it could mean, he didn't want to believe his dad is the Guard, "dude, no" Liam said, shaking his head, dawn sighed as she looked to her side, "dude, it means your dad is the Guard." Maya said, slightly nodding her head as she said that sentence, dawn now nodded her head, slightly chuckling as she was nodding, charlie looked at Maya before he let his eyes take a look at dawn who was also nodding her head, confusion was playing on his face, "what?" charlie asked, his head snapping from Dawn to Berger, before returning to Dawn again, "no" charlie said again, "my dad is not the guard, the guard is like the greates hero ever." Charlie spoke.

Beeger had now stepped off the platform they were standing on, charlie now looked at dawn, shaking his head as he thought of his dad, "my dad can't handle hot wings, i've seen him without his shirt on, he can barely swim." Charlie said, his voice going louder than he had wantes it to, dawn cocked her head to the side, before almost turning around to step of the platform they were standing on, maya and lizzie had already left the platform."okay, my dad is not The Guard" "or he is The Guard" liam said, shrugging his shoulders as he also left the platform.

"My dad is not the Guard!" Charlie said, almost sighing as he said his sentence, maya also cocked her head to the side, her eyebrows lifting while she did, "somebody's in denial" she said, liam chuckled as her head snapped towards him, her cheeks heating up as she heard his chuckle, "i think you're dad is the Guard" dawn said, patting Charlie's shoulder, as she then turned around to also leave the platform she was standing on, charlie sighed as he watched the girl, with her back turned towards him, walk away.

"Hey guys" lizzie yelled out to the group, her voice echoing, it had snapped the attention of the curious teens, looking at her direction, "does the Guard wear a fanny pack?" She asked, turning to make eye contact with the group, more looking at charlie thinking he might know more, dawn looked down to where she was standing, seeing a bracelet laying there, "or jewelry?" Dawn asked, picking up the bracelet, before she put it back down, scared to break anything, dawn picked her head back up, noticing charlie looking at her.

Charlie quickly turned his head back to where it previously was, swipping the floating image of the earth, he sighed, not believing what was happening in that direct moment, "this is so awesome!" Liam said, grabbing the thing he had just found, he had pressed a button and a energy source came out of it, maya's eyes lit up as she watched the blue light, "woah, that is total star wars vibes!" Lizzie said, her head first being on the 'lazer sword' liam was holding, but then she turned her attention back on the fanny packs.

The 6 teenagers had made they're way downstairs, lizzie was in the front, leading the group to something she had seen, they were walking pretty fast so dawn and charlie were staying behind, dawn had noticed the mood change charlie had, and she had wanted to cheer him up more, but she couldn't figure out what could make him happy, "printing in progress" the automated voice spoke, echoing around the room.

They all looked up, seeing lazer make a wall, it was floating in the air, dawn gasped as she looked up, "wow cool lasers" lizzie said, now walking a lot more slower then she was a few moments ago, now the protection glass went down, scarring the group as thay all jumped backwards, the wall the lazera were creating started to float around, but it had stopped at a empty spot in the wall, placing it there.

"Woah" dawn said, she could see charlie looking at her in the corner of her eye, she could see he wasn't only looking at her, but he was smiling at her, she had turned her head to look at him, wanting to smile back, but as soon as she did, Charlie's head snapped back to the group, who had already started to move again, dawn sighed.

"Some kind of 3D printer from space." Lizzie said, dawn shot her head up hearing the word space, the girl had been intrested in space since she was a child, it was almost the reason why she was called 'freaky dawny' because of her obsession over space, "ohh, tell it to print a fake id" lizzie said, dawn stepped forward, "and maybe a fake 10/10 test" dawn said, pointing her finger to the screen they were looking at.

The other friends, including liam had turned to look at down, she shrugged her shoulders as she backed away, lizzie slowly turned her head back to the screen, not wanting to waste any time that they had already lost, "can it print Britney spears?" "Or selena gomez?" Berger amd liam, berger asking first then liam, their eyes were glued to the screen, dawn slowly turned her head towards the taller boys, her eyes borws furrowed, now it was her time to be confused.

"Hasn't she been through enough?" Lizzie asked, ignoring Liam's comment, only replying to berger, berger nodded his head as he agreed, liam also nodded his head, dawn looked back at the screen, wanting to see what was going on,"can't print people, looks like only a few things to choose from." Maya said, sighing as her finger fell from the monitor, before putting it back on the monitor tapping on the menu button, pressing a button that had made the lights cut off.

Dawn felt charlie grab her hand as he looked up, she didn't think charlie did it on purpose, she quickly looked around to, trying to ignore the warm feeling she was feeling, "uh maya, i think you pressed the wrong button.." Berger said, trailling off his sentence, charlie had now looked down at his hand, he quickly saw what he was doing, hoping dawn didn't notice the blush on his cheeks as it was now dark.

Letting go of her hand, sighing as he quickly looked away from the blonde girl, before the girl could even say something or do something Lizzie cut her off, "yeah emergency shutoff" she said, zlightly pushing maya to the side as she now took over the monitor, "this is a bad idea" charlie muttered, dawn heard chuckling slightly, "uh, here let's try this button" lizzie said, swiping on the monitor before pushing a button again.

Now the walls shot back up, the lazers had started creating something again, this had catched the attention of the six kids, it did however scare them as maya put her arms up, making sure none of her friends get hurt, liam who was on one side of her arm and next to berger, grabbed onto her hand, before they realised it was safe the lazers had already made the thing lizzie had selected, as it was donr the walls started going down, the lazers started leading the thing to a table.

The kids, being curious, they started to move to the table, their eyes not leaving the thing floating in the air, dawn stood close by Charlie, as maya stood close to liam, "transferring to charging station" the automated voice said, echoing around the room, standing on the platform, they could see what the item was closer, dawn stood next to charlie but on her other side stood maya, liam also stood next to maya.

Lizzie grabbed the thing that they had created, the lazers had stopped letting it float, other stuff was also shows on the table, dawn grabbed the rings and bracelet she saw earlier but now they were in a different color, liam took the light sword, it wasn't activated yet as he would have had to press something to activate it, "nice material" lizzie said, looking at the almost bag she had grabbed, "totally!" Dawn said, showing off her fingers as the rings she had chozen were shown.

Maya had looked over at the other table, grabbing a jacket, the red color made her look at it even more ,"oh, what's this?" Maya asked, showing it to the others, berger had grabbed something, it looked like a wand, "looks like a magic wand!" Berger said, pressing the button as electricity shot from the end, almost hitting charlie, but charlie leaned back just in time, "whoa" berger said, almost under his breath, charlie put the bracelet around his wrist, making it light up.

His mouth opened in shock, gasping as he felt the energy going in his hand, berger looked at his shorter friend smiling as the two made eye contact, liam pressed a button, making the same lazers that they had previously seen shot out, only for them to be blue, his mouth opened in shock, he was so amazed by the color, dawn laughed pointing at what liam had found, then flicking her hand back as she created a blue field of energy, making it almost like a protection wall, now it was dawn's time to be shocked.

"Whoa, that is so cool" liam said, stepping forward, dawn flickered her other hand creating another field pushing liam back, liam gasped as he held his chest, dawn looked at the others, berger was now letting a screw float around with the 'magic wand' he had found, maya chuckled, she had put in the jacket, it made her blue hair pop out, cocking her head to the side, she smiled, "looking good, hermione" she said.

dawn slightly laughed as she looked at her hand, the blue energy twinkled between her fingers before going back to the nails, "it's not a magic wand, it's a magnet wand." Berger said, smiling at the end of his sentence, lizzie had taken out her phone, filming what was happening infront of her, she did not want to forget the moment she was seeing, the bag was on her back she had already put it on, not knowing what it is, or what is does, berger started to float the screw closer to dawn's face, charlie looked at her, in her eyes he saw the reflection of the orange electricity moving the screw.

Maya and liam stepped closer from their spots, going back to the table as they were standing further before, Berger made the screw float closer to charlie, as he grabbed it, gasping as he felt it in his hand, the orange electricity had stopped, as Berger had stopped pressing the button, just then the bracelet charlie was wearing activated, his mouth landed open in surprise, he raised his hand as he looked closer into what it was, looking through the see through screen, he looked around the room, "woah" charlie said, his voice was high as he was still surprise.

They all started to turn around, berger also shooting the orange electricity around the room, "i think that's a HUD" dawn said, also looking bracelet charlie was wearing, " a what?" Charlie asked, his head turning to dawn before turning back to look through the see through screen, "a heads-up display or something, i read it somewhere!" Dawn said, nodding her head as she thought back to the night she was reading that book about the guards gadgets, maya also nodded, she remembers reading the same book.

"I wonder what this button does?" Lizzie asked, pressing the button on her bag, her phone in her other hand, recording herself while finding out what she was wearing, pressing the button it activated wings from back, as they slowly started to open by itself, lizzie had dropped her phone, the phone landed on the ground, lizzie started to scream as she started to float, catching the attention of her friends, "help me! Berger, berger! It's not a backpack!" Lizzie screamed, trying to get help from her friends.

"Hold on hold on! I'm coming!" Charlie screamed back, holding up his hand that had the bracelet on, so did dawn,only she put her hand with the rings up, she had wanted to create a field to catch Lizzie id she fell, "lizzie turn it off!" Charlie screamed, lizzie was still being swung from side to side in the air, "pull me down, Maya! Dawn! Please get me down!" Lizzie screamed for her friends again, as she was not getting help, "okay hang on, hang on, i got-" maya was cut off by lizzie kicking charlie in the face, making him fall on the ground.

Dawn's eyebrows first furrowed as she looked at her blonde fiend who layed on the ground, but Dawn then gasped as she realised what has happened, she sped over to charlie, maya sped over to lizzie, grabbing onto her leg, trying to stop her from being swung in the air, maya also started to float, spinning around as maya held onto maya legs for her life, "lizzie, careful!" "Maya, be careful!" Berger and liam yelled at the two girl, the two were concerned for their friends, the two started to float towards charlie and dawn, who had started to stand up, charlie noticed as he jumped onto dawn, making them both go to the side.

Charlie's back hit the table as he hugged dawn, making sure she was safe, "you okay?" Charlie quickly whispered to the blonde girl, as she nodded, "yeah" dawn breath out, trying to catch her breath from everything that had happend, the other two had finally gotten down, calming themselfs as they stood up, charlie pointed at the two, with the hand he had the bracelet in, "you guys okay?" Charlie asked, not focusing on what was happening on his arm, "target applying" the automated voice spoke.

Before charlie realised what was happening, it was to late, "oh shi-" charlie said, before sending a force of energy that was a orange ball go straight for maya, before it could even hit maya, her jacket put a field infront of her, protecting her from the shot, only pushing her on the ground, dawn gasped as she shot up, her knees cracking as she stood up very fast, maya grunt as she got hit into a car tire, "oh my god, maya!" Lizzie screamed, dawn and charlie started to run towards maya.

Going through their knees as they went low enough to see maya laying there, "i killed maya" charlie said, putting his hand infront his mouth, "you killed maya!" Dawn yelled, putting her hands in her hair, standing up again, as she started to pace around the room, liam had started to come in the room, "who killed who?" He said, before he saw maya laying there, not really responding, charlie sat on one knee, one hand on his chin, lizzie and dawn stood together as lizzie tried calming dawn, who was slightly freaking out.

Liam ran to maya side, grabbing onto her hand checking for her pulse, he sighed in relieve as he felt a pusle, "you didn't kill maya" liam said, putting his other hand on Charlie's shoulders, his other hand was still holding onto Maya's hand, "I didn't kill maya?" Charlie asked, dawn could hear the concern in Charlie's voice as she looked at him, she felt bad as she yelled at him, she was just freaking out about her friend that she had forgotten about the feeling of her other friend, maya started to wake, as he reyes started to twitch.

Opening her eyes, as she lookes around, lizzie noticed when her friend who was alying on the floor started to move, "shes okay, she's okay!" Lizzie said, putting her hand on dawn shoulder, before moving next to liam, going to look what was happening with her friend, maya looked at Liam, she could see the relieve in his eyes as she woke up, her cheeks heated up at she felt the warm contact of his hand holding hers, "that was awesome" she said, her red jacket started to smoke, shrink to fit" the automated voice spoke again.

Maya sat up, "stylish and functional" maya said, her hand still holding onto liam, who now held out his other hand for her to grab onto, "guys check this out!" Berger said, his voice echoing through the room, as they looked at to were his voice was coming from, they saw berger only headless, they all screamed as berger danced, "where's his head?" Lizzie screamed, her eyes wide opened as she saw her friend dancing, they all stood up closer, maya grabbed onto Liam's hand helping her up from the ground.

"It's DJ Berger, the headless assasin comin' ay you live!" Berger said, still dancing, not seeing how his friend was looking at him, "berger?" Charlie asked, leaning his arm on the wall, it was just short enough for him to lean on, maya and liam stood back, dawn stood next to charlie and lizzie, dawn slightly laughed as she looked at her friend who was dancing, looking at lizzie who looked back at her, smiling to, "guys, guys look over here." Berger said, making the teens head look at where his voice was coming from.

They saw his head sitting on the table as some kind of portal was sitting on his neck, the teens chuckled as they went off the steps to get closer to berger, going up again some steps to get closer, Bergers body walked behind lizzie, putting his hand up, "ohh, i look good today" berger said, hia body ran, quickly running back to his head that was sitting on the red table, "how?" Charlie asked, stepping forward, dawn stayed where she stood, next to lizzie, maya and liam stood next to each other, close, scared that something might happend again.

"It's amazing! You put your head through one magic portal thingy" berger said, lowering his head, his head started to grow on his body as his hands held up the portal he had found, "and it comes out the other." He said, lizzie had started to film as he saw her filming he smiled at her, as she laughed, maya gasped as she saw what was happening, dawn's eyes widened as she looked at the other portal, the one that Berger had his head in, was now empty.

Before berger lowered the portal again, his head appearing where they saw it first, a smile was playing on his face, before he want to put it up again, dawn's eyes wandered across the room, spotting something, she stood forward, "what's that?" She asked, walking towards whatever she had found, grabbing the keys that was placed on the table, an alarm chirps, as they suddenly saw bright lights coming from a car that was stood behind them.

Turning around fast, the cat started to move forward, it started to move so fast, the teenagers didn't have time to move, they a screamed as they stood frozen, Charlie stood close to dawn as maya stood close to liam, covering their eyes with their hands as the bright light got closer, it stopped right infront of them, "G-mobiel summond, ready for mission" the automated voice spoke, the voice echoed through the room, as the teenagers still covered their eyes because of the lights.

Their hands slowly got removed from their eyes as they looked at the car standing infront of them, "this is sick" berger said, going closer to the car, dawn also start to move closer, charlie looked at her for a second before turning back to the car, "you still think your dad's the Guard butler?" Lizzie asked, also moving closer to the car, charlie stood frozen Infront of the car, not knowing what to do, "come on" maya said to liam, moving her hear to the side as liam nodded, they looked at the car from the side, the same side dawn looked at the car.

Charlie looked into the car, noticing his shoes hanging in the front, charlie went away from the car, turning downnthe pictures with his dad and him when tehy were little, picking up the cup he had given to his father, dawn noticed that charlie was behind, going up to him she sighed, seeing him look down at the cup, "maybe he didn't tell you to protect you?" Dawn said, Shrugging her shoulders as she hid her hands in her sweater, charlie was more in his head then listening to her, mot realising dawn stood there.

He was angry at his dad, suddenly his bracelet started to go off, making the mug fly in the air and hit the bookcase, charlie and dawn gasped as they saw ut fly, "you okay?" Dawn asked, clearing her throat as she started to walked closer, charlie looked at his hand, before he made eye contact with dawn, realising she was standing their the entire time, "what? Yeah, i, um.." charlie said, his hand thouching his face as he rubbed his eye, "just, ready to get outta here" charlie said, dawn sighed.

"Yeah me to, but uh, you broke something.." dawn said, her voice was low, not wanting to upset charlie, she could hear him sigh, "yeah" charlie said, sighing as he looked at the broken mug that was placed on the floor, dawn sighed to, before stepping towards charlie, "'come on let's clean it up, maybe later i could stop by to my house and grab some strong glue and get it fixed" dawn said, putting her hand on his shoulder, being careful picking up the pieces that was shatter on the floor.

Maya and liam stood together, liam was checking out the items that stood on the table, "this is so cool" maya said, smiling as she looked at the thing she had picked up, "i can't believe Charlie's dad is the guard" liam said, looking at the light saber he had grabbed earlier, pushing a button as he opened the saber, the blue energy source, maya's mouth fell open as she looked at liam, he started to swing the saber from one side to the other side, "woah" maya said.

Liam swang the saber one more time before he closes the saber, putting it back on the table where he found it, the silence floated around the room, liam cleared his troat as she leaned against th table, "so the dance" Liam said, folding his arms, looking over at maya, she nodded, but her eyebrows furrowed, not quite knowing what liam meant with the dance, she moved her head forward, not knowing what he meant, "yeah, the dance?" Maya said.

leaning her arms on the table as she looked at liam, Liam was staring at something else as he looked back seeing maya leaning on the table, he chuckled as she turned around, also leaning his arms on the table, "you know, the dance, do you have a dance partner?" Liam asked, cocking his head to the side as he thought about the dance that was coming up, maya smiled, looked away before looking back at liam, "why are you asking me to be your dance partner?" Maya asked, a smile was painted on her face, liam chuckled as he put his hands up, as he stopped leaning on the table.

"Sorry for asking.."liam said, going over to the side maya was on, liam moved closer leaning on his elbows, "but do you?" He asked again, his head closer to maya head now, the two made eye contact, liam towered over maya, he was a lot taller than her, "i don't know, do you?" Maya asked, as she stopped leaning on the table, one hand stayed on the table and the other went to her hip, liam cocked his head, as he also stopped leaning on the table.

"Well, i'm asking this amazing person to be my dance partner, i'll tell you when she answers" liam said, he had tried to make it obvious it was her he had wanted to be with, maya blushed as she realised how close they were, "so maya, will you be my-" liam got cut off by lizzie storming into the room, "guys come on, dawn and charlie are calling us in the main room" she said, throwing her hands in the air before letting them fall to the ground.

"Oh okay" maya said awkwardly, quickly smiling at the boy who stood infront of her, before moving closer to lizzie, "what were you guys even doing there?" Lizzie asked, looking at her friend with furrowed eyebrows, "nothing" maya said, looking around the room to look at charlie and Dawn, "how did you guys not even hear..."lizzie said again, now she muttered, trying to figure out what was going on between her friend and liam.
