Chapter thirteen
'the kiss'

Dawn and lizzie smiled at each other, the others were talking to each other. More talking about what happened that night. Everyone stopped talking when they heard a loud gasp. It made everyone stop with what they were doing. "Charlie? Charlie, my sweet boy!" Dawn looked behind her seeing Charlie's mom enter the gym.

Her loud gasp stopped everyone from talking. Charlie smiled as he realized it was his mom, he held his arms up to hug her. His mother also started to walk towards him with arms open. Dawn looked at maya, the two laughed slightly as they saw what was happening. "Oh my god, are you okay?" His mother asked him.

She had let go of him, as she looked charlie up and down to make sure. She had touched his cheek but quickly did her hand off as she didn't know whay to do. "Are you... What happened?" His mother asked, she didn't know what to ask charlie as she had been so worried. Maya and dawn looked at each other slightly laughing at the concerned mom. Liam had pulled out his phone, he saw how his mom was texting him like crazy.

"I better call my mom." Liam said, he showed the phone in his hand as he went to call his mom. Dawn sighed as she realized she didn't think about her family either. She looked at her phone expecting messages and calls from her mom instead she had these but from her big sister, Ariana.

The text's were a veriety of text, but mist were like. "Where the fuck are you? I'm beginnen worry, mom's off somewhere drinking so i'm alone i thought tonight was game night?" The text read. Dawn had completely forgotten it was game night with her sis. But yet dawn didn't want to go, she had feeling she had to stay for the dance that was clearly over.

"Me too, i should call my sister" dawn said. She had grabbed stopped with listening to the conversation charlie wa shaving with his parents. "Hey ariana.." dawn trailed off, ariana sighed as she knew her sister was okay. "You're okay.. where are you though?" Her sister asked. Dawn could hear their mom shouting at ariana to get more drinks.

"At the school dance, I thought i left a note, i'm sorry" dawn said, she rubbed a hand over her face. Meanwhile liam has returned from his phone call. His mother was worried but was now okay as she knew her son was okay. "We can talk about this at him. Come on." Charlie's said, she grabbed his shoulders trying to get him to move.

"Uhh, wait, wait. Umm.." charlie saidz he looked back at his friends, he mostly looked at dawn, who looked stressed. " Hold on a second, there's somethin' i gotta do first." Charlie said, he turned around, just then dawn had turned around from her phone call as it had ended. Maya slapped dawn's arm which made her look up to see charlie heading towards her.

Her cheeks blushed as her eyes kept switching from the floor to charlie. "i know that, technically you, um, have a date already, but since robbie Fernandez ran  away like a whiny little baby-" charlie spoke, but lizzie had gasped slightly. Even dawn gasped as she heard what his name was. "His name was robbie?" Lizzie asked, maya had turned to her shush her for interrupting Charlie's speach to dawn.

"What i was wondering.." charlie said, he stopped his sentence as he prepared himself for rejection. The silence floated in the air. He found it hard to get the words out, danw made him nervous. Dawn made him feel like their the only two ob the planet, even though their young he still feels like this couls last forever. Everytime she speaks, his legs feel like yello.

He found it wierd he was reacting the way he was, every small thing she did he admired. Every good idea was a genius plan to him. "Do you be my dance partner to the dance?" Charlie asked, his eyes stayed closed for a while, he didn't want to see dawn's face in horror as he asked.

But when he opened his eyes, a soft smile was painted on her face. That soft smile thatade his mind go blank. That soft smile that made all the stress he was feeling go away. "Okay, kincaid. I'd love to dance with you." Dawn said, she crossed her hands as she smiled. Charlie's face lit up as he heard her speak.

He grabbed her hand as the two went to go and take a spot to dance. Liam scratched the back of his neck as he realized it was not his turn. "Is this a good time to tell you i like you?" Liam said out of the bloom. It made maya froze in her spot. "no, not at all!" Maya said, her smile was warm. "Then lets dance!" Liam said, he held out a hand for maya to grab and she did.

Berger had made his way over to the dj stand, he had tapped a buton and music started to play. Charlie placed on hand on dawn's hip and the other held onto her hand. Dawn did the same, only her hand was on his shoulder. Sometimes the two wouls switch and charlie would have both hands arouns dawn waist. Charlie smiled at dawn as the two swayed from left to right.

"So you really didn't know his name was robbie huh?" Charlie asked, it made dawn dropp her head, her head slightly touched Charlie's shoulder. His eyes widened and blush quickly appeared on his cheeks. "No, i just.. i'm not good with names." Dawn said, she laughed, That laugh. Charlie smiled as he heard her laugh.

Silence started to go around the two, but it wasn't wierd silence. It was comfortable silence. Charlie was more admiring how pretty dawn looks close up. How pretty her eyes are, those hazel eyes. The green and the blow meeting with each other, he found it so beautiful. He was also looking at hos pretty hee Little freckels are. You couldn't see them from afar but up close you can.

It felt good to be that close to dawn, he didn't why it felt like that as it was wierd to think about. He looked at her lips, the rose color made them look soft, just like her smile. Butterflies came to his stomach as he realized what he wanted to do. Dawn looked at charlie, she only thought about how she was dancing with her 5th grade crush.

Dawn noticed charlie leaning in, he puckered up his lip. But dawn flicked her fingers creating a mini shield for her face. It made charlie crash into that. Charlie looked confused at dawn. Dawn smiled, that soft smile in which charlie knew she was just kidding. "Kidding." Dawn said, charlie laughed at her as he then leaned in again kissing her.

Dawn smiled into the kiss, she knew her 5th grade self would be screaming. A squal came from berger, making dawn and charlie laugh in the kiss. The two pulled apart as dawn smiles soft to charlie. He sighed as he laughed. "One more for good measure" he said, quickly kissing her one more time before stopping.

"Ewwww" dawn said, she slightly laughed as she tried to wipe her mouth but didn't. She wa sbeing sarcastic and charlie knew it. "how's my breath though?" Dawn asked, she remembered charlie said her breath stinks in 5th grade. "Amazing." Charlie said, his pupils grew as he looked at her.

He had to look slightly down, as he was just a little taller than her. "That was amazing" charlie said, he smiled at her. Butterflies flew in her stomach as she looked over his shoulder to see maya and liam share a little kiss. "You're amazing" charlie said, he was still looking at dawn while speaking.

Dawn only smiled as she hugged him, "your amazing to" dawn said, her head stayed on his shoulder. Charlie smiled as he looked in the distance. He hopes this moment would last forever. His parents who were dancing and watching from afar smiled. "He really is in love" Charlie's mom spoke, she looked at how charlie was looking in the distance.

"Totally." Jack said, he nodded his head while speaking.

This story is coming to an end which i'm so sad about 🙁

One more chapter after this, but huge chance it won't be uploaded in a few months as it isn't apart of the movie and i'm really bad at writing scenes that aren't presented infront of me! ( It will mor ebe like through the years of what's happening!)

So this book wil be marked as completed! But there might be a follow up chapter to this 🫶 like what happened in all the years and stuff

I wanted to say i'm so greatful for all the support and love I've been getting on these book, for me it's still so crazy that there are actually people who care about these books and want endings! It is still so mindblowing!

Although should say, chapters on any book will now be delayed. As much as i love writing about stuff and i do wanna make writing my life but i can't. I still have school, and this year i have to keep my grades up. So i hope you understand if there wouldn't be anymore chapter or updates for a while. (Like maybe only once a month idk yet)
