Epilogue Part I: A Viking Angel Gone To Rest

I looped my arm through Reubens as we walked through the debris to the lake, which had been partly uncovered for Ruthie's funeral.
When we reached the shore Reuben took the top off the pot he had and spread Ruthies ashes in the small wooden boat on one side, and Zuriels ashed from another pot on the other side of the small vessel.
Then I poured a little kerosene over the ashes, pushing the boat off shore.
When it had reached some distance we all raised our bows and arrows, setting them on fire before releasing them. The boat burst up in flames and I took Reuben's hand again, holding it in both of mine as Ruthie's remains turned to smoke and disappeared forever.
