The rain fell down on the windows and splashed against it making little droplets on the glass. A small smile rose to my face as I saw them slowly slide down onto the boards and drip off onto the ground far below.

The steady sound of the monitor beside me kept me from spacing out, but luckily for me it wasn't too loud to be much of an ignorance. In fact I was lucky to even have windows giving how shitty of a place it is.

At least the room is okay. The smile faltered a small bit when my eyes wandered to the room to see the photo of the four of us, smiling looking like we were having the time of our lives. Yeah, seems like only yesterday.

Reaching my hand out towards the photograph, my hand flinched back to my side when the door opened and the nurse's sadly familiar face walked in with the food she was supposed to give me.

"And how are we today young man?" Forcing my smile to grow wider, I nodded and reached out my hands to grab the plate from her so she wouldn't have to walk all the way around to the other side.

"I've been feeling much better, any visitors for me today?"

"No, I'm afraid not. You have to remember lots of your friends still have school."

"Well yeah since there's only one school in our town." The nurse laughing it lifted my emotions a bit, but soon enough she sighed and her face fell.

"I do hope you get better."

"Yeah, me too." Hope shining in her eyes, my heart skipped a small beat as a wave of anxiety rushed through me.

"I really wanna get out of here..." The nurse frowning, she reached out a hand and placed it on my shoulder.

"We all want you too, and you will." Giving me a small smile, she planted a tiny kiss on my forehead and left the room, giving me one last hopeful glance.

As soon as the door closed the room felt lighter, her words encouraging positivity I continued looking out the window at the sunny sky, clouds that lingered rained causing certain spots to be poured on and others to be shined on.

Almost as if it couldn't make up it's mind on what to be, it was such a funny thing. The door opened again, and this time forcing a smile on my face before looking I turned to see the nurse only to find Karen at the door, her eyes wide.

"Karen! Hey where have you bee- Oh...Oh Karen....." She had raced towards me, the door swung wide open and as she lunged out for me I wrapped my arms around her tightly and she buried her face into my chest.

Sobs coming out of her mouth, I glanced up to see the nurse looking at us in pain. Smiling quickly, my hand placed itself on the top of her head and I rested my chin on hers. Rubbing her back up and down, I cuddled her in that position.

"Why aren't you at school huh?"

"I just wanted to see you... Snuck away from the bus stop after Mom went back to the house." Frowning, I pulled away to look at her. "Does Mom and Dad know?" She shook her head. A snicker coming out of my mouth, I pulled her back into the hug trying not to well with tears.

"That's okay....I won't tell them."

"Thanks Kenny..." Her sniffles flooded the room, and I just couldn't help it as I felt myself shed a tear. It rolled down my cheek and I quickly took my hand off her head to catch it before she noticed. Gently pressing my hand back down on her head, I coughed.

"The nurse thinks I'm going to get out of here in no time." Hiccuping, she pulled away and wiped off her tears, looking up into my eyes, hers shining filled with hope.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." I smiled. Ruffling her hair, she giggled softly and took my hand into hers.

"It's been lonely without you at the house." Karen whispered. Her voice down and depressing, I flinched trying to imagine what it would be like at home without me from keeping Mom and Dad from yelling at each other when Karen's around, or to tell the others to stop teasing her.

Trying to think of what to say, I chose to stay on the positive side. "Well, I'm here now." Brushing the hair out of her face and tucking it behind her ear, she grinned and wiped away the tears with her sleeve.

"Yeah.. You definitely are. The guys are planning to come see you soon you know?"

"They are?!"

"Yeah!"

"Oh wow....I thought they forgot about me I just I-...." I noticed the way Karen was looking at me, with a big grin on her face seeing how happy I just got.

"....Thanks Karen. For telling me and coming to visit me I mean."

"Well it's not like Mom and Dad we're gonna drop me off, they haven't been dealing with it well.."

"So I assumed." Casting my eyes back to the window and watching, I noticed the rain had stopped leaving only the raindrops to slowly one by one pour down onto the boards and down onto the pavement.

A sigh escaping my lips, I looked back at Karen to see her slowly getting off of the bed. Panic rushing through me, I went to reach her hand and hastily intertwined her fingers with mine, accidentally scaring her with the sudden urgency.

"Y-You're leaving?" I broke out. My face flushing by how desperate I sounded, I quickly let go of Karen's hand and held it back with my other hand, afraid I was going to lash out like that again.

"Yeah, sorry Kenny I just.... I'll come back in a bit this is just, really hard for me."

"Promise you'll come back?"

"I promise." Nodding hesitant, I watched her as she crept out of the room and slowly closed the door behind her, giving me a quick wave goodbye before leaving me all alone in the room again. Looking down at my hands, I turned so the insides of my wrists faced upwards towards me and the needle hooking up to the machine was planted by the inside of my elbow.

Flinching, I whipped my hands back to how they usually are, hiding the needle, and went to go and reach for the lamp shutting the light off. Shuffling around in the bed, I made myself comfortable and looked at the wall and how it had a nightlight plugged into it.

My expression falling, I yawned and my eyes closed shut letting myself fall asleep.

------= ~ =------

"That's bullshit!"

"Yeah we're not going anywhere without seeing Kenny!" Stirring as I heard my name, I groggily rubbed my eyes trying to concentrate on what they were saying.

"Look boys I know you want to see him but he's resting right now, maybe when he's awake we can get you boys inside." The nurse... Probably talking to the press. What a bunch of losers. Shutting my eyes and snuggling back into the position was in, I started dozing off.

"Oh come on lady!"

"Yeah dude! What's the deal?!"

"Stupid whore! Don't you know what real friendship is!?" Odd thing the press would say to a nurse... Furrowing my eyebrows I decided to leave it be. Maybe I'm just famous now. It is a small town.

"Cartman! That's not gonna help!" My eyes shot open at the name, heart rising into my throat I focused on my hearing to make sure they were really who I thought they were.

"I don't fucking care I wanna see Kenny!"  Cartman was definitely behind the door.

"Please Ma'am, can you just let us in to see Kenny?" So was Stan...

"I'm sorry boys but Kenny really needs rest, how about this, I'll go in and see if he's up, if he's up then you can come in but you have to be quiet, okay?" And the nice nurse..

"Alright!!" And Kyle was there too.

Rising myself to a seating position, I made sure the pillow was supporting my back just as the nurse walked in with a surprised expression.

"There are three little boys here, I'm guessing they're your friends, you want me to send them in?"

"YES! Uh...I mean..Yes please." Cheeks heating up, she giggled and turned back around her, notioning for the boys to follow her inside. Sure enough, Cartman was the first to plow through, looking up at me with wide eyes.

Kyle followed behind him trying to seem alright and not act like anything was wrong, then Stan walked in too but he looked... Just as nervous as I felt. Stan's eyes landed onto mine, and he jumped a small bit before looking away.

"Hey Kenny!" Kyle spoke up, he seemed happy to be here. It was nice, to see someone who wasn't scared or shocked in a scene like this. Unlike Cartman or Stan.

"Hey Kyle." I laughed, a large smile rising onto my face his face lit up, seeming proud to have made me smile. Walking over to my bedside, he clasped his hand into mine and started talking.

"How have you been feeling?"

"Well, I've been better but, I'm sure I'll get out of here soon! Maybe then we can all do something together!" Kyle's face was the brightest I've ever seen after I said that. Grinning so wide it almost hurt he looked so giddy.

"Oh dude that'd be sweet!"

"You think so?" I asked, excitement clear in my voice, he hopped up and down nodding excitedly.

"Yeah!"

"What would we do?" Kyle's face dropping, he glanced at the other two trying to find a subject but both of them were just staring at us with wide eyes. Both of them had nervous looks, probably envious of how calm Kyle was with all of this.

"Mmmm, I don't know."

"We could go to an amusement park!" Turning my head to see Cartman join in on the conversation, I grinned at him as he walked over to my bed.

"Yeah! We could go on all sorts of rides and shit, it'd be great."

"I-I don't know.. Shouldn't we wait until you're all better?" Stan's voice speaking up, I looked over at him to see him very anxious.

"I-I mean we don't wanna push you too much right after you get out, i-if you get out so.."

"Stan!"

"What?! We don't know what could happen! Hell! He could start having a fit right now and that'd be it! He's fragile Kyle! And..and...! Tsk." Stan looking away, he wiped his eyes. My expression dropping, I sat up away from the pillow causing Kyle to put a hand on my chest, his eyes full of worry and caution.

Smiling at him and placing his hand on my bedside, I unplugged my IV and sunk out of the bed, my feet touching the ground for a first time in a while. Narrowing my eyes, I concentrated on standing up straight. Grabbing Kyle's hand, he helped pull me up and I walked over to Stan.

My hands outstretching, I turned him around so he was facing me, his eyes filled with tears and they fell down his face. Wiping them away, I pulled him into a big hug wrapping my arms around him. Swaying side to side, I let him cry it out as I rubbed his back.

Sighing as I looked over at Cartman to see him smiling sadly at me. Kyle looked extremely worried that I was out of bed, but once he realised I had my balance he relaxed a small bit.

"You know I'm not stupid enough to do anything like that right away, they'll have to lead me back into my normal life and not just throw me into it. They won't let me do anything to hurt myself, so don't worry about it."

"But what if something bad happens i-in h-h-here.. I d-don't want to l-lose you Kenny!" He sobbed. Hiccups coming out of his mouth I just kept rubbing his back and leaned into him a bit so I wouldn't waste all my strength standing.

"You won't, I'll always come back to you Stan, I'll always come back to all of you. I'll never leave you alone."

Reaching a hand out towards Cartman, I pulled him into the hug and brought Kyle in as well. Tears fell from everyone's faces, even Cartman swelled with tears a small bit, but he'll probably say he didn't after this is over.

Staying like this for a while, my knees buckled in suddenly but they quickly caught me. Kyle and Cartman grabbed my arms and Stan held onto me so I wouldn't fall flat on my face. Laughing nervously, they helped me get back into bed and the nurse came in to plug the needle in again.

Kyle having to look away, Stan smiled at me from where he was standing and made his way over to the bed, all of us a family of four again.

A happy family.

We will get through this.

============================================================

Okay, so I don't usually drop a book without warning anyone but, I didn't think anybody really enjoyed South park or south park fanfictions in my community to announce it to the entire world, but, I've been in love with Southpark lately, I guess it's just me or that the game came out and I've been inspired but.

This is a one shot. This is not a sequel to anything, and if you want to add extra emotion to reading this if you are going to reread this again is that you need to listen to this:
