After Me and Jacob finished checking on the cows we went to mama store for some supper.

"So you found you a girl yet?" he teased. Hes always teased me because him and Jocelyn are already engaged.

"No man no one catches my eye I know every one and just not interested in someone around here." I replied sadly. It's not that I don't want a girl its just that I want some one that's gonna keep me on my toes.

"I'm surprised mama ain't trying to find ya someone. maybe one of her quilting buddy's granddaughter?" he laughed.

"God no I'd rather stay single then be with one of those frilly girls." I shivered.

About ten minutes later we got to mama store. she has clothing homemade jelly, honey and fresh grown vegetables. The little bell jingled above the door letting her know someone was here. me and Jacob went to sit down at a table. Mama belle came over and asked us what we wanted.

Jacob said "Meatloaf with extra ketchup and french fries."

"You don't want no vegetables boy?" she asked him

"No ma'am" he replied

She shook her head and looked at me "What you want opie?"

"Fried chicken, collards, peas and peppers and some jalapenos on the side please." I answered

"It'll be right out. How was the cows today." she asked

"None died none were sick but a few did have babies." I told her

"Oh good!" she exclaimed as she left.

Jacob looked at me and said
"Ya know Cole's having a bonfire tonight you in?" He asked while raising a eye brow

" I don't know man his party's always get out of control." I replied while shaking my head

"Aw come on man you could always be my DD." He pleaded

"Yeah I could do that. I need to get out the house any way." I said

Cole was the definition of a party animal. He drank like a fish and had a different girl each night and I didn't like to see him use girls like that.
