It has been a few weeks since everything happened. Jacob and Jocelyn had gotten better. They caught the person who broke in. They also returned all the missing stuff. Ms. Belle cancer isn't life threatening. She passed out because of low blood sugar turns out she's been getting Chemo when she was supposed to be at her quilting classes. Opie was pretty upset because she didn't tell him. He couldn't stay mad long though. When the doctor told Opie the tumor was shrinking you could tell Opie was relieved. I was taking over the store for Ms. Belle because Opie wouldn't let her out of his sight.

It was six thirty in the morning and I was getting ready to go open the store. I was getting dressed when Opie walked in. I looked over my shoulder at him and smiled when I saw his hooded eyes. He shook his head as if he was trying to get rid of the thoughts that was takng over his head.

"Hey darling." he said while  walking over to me as I did the last button on my button up shirt.

"Hey love. What are you and Jacob doing today?" I asked while wrapping my arms around his neck.

"We are going to check on the goats and your baby plus the cows. Then we are going to talk to the farmers that do our farming because it's going to be cotton season soon." He said while walking with me downstairs to the kitchen.

"Well I hope it goes well and y'all get everything done." I said while getting the cereal

"Did you just say y'all?" He asked in a amused tone.

"I guess I did." I said while giggling.

" I guess us southern folks are rubbing off on you." He said while smiling.

They really were when I thought about it. They have been my family when my own turned their back on me.

"I'm really happy I found you guys." I said after washing my cereal bowl out.

"Me too babe." He replied while kissing my cheek. "I'm about to head out I'll see you later Ms. Edwards is coming over to sit with Mama today. Have a good day love." He said. Then he walked out and I got Ms. Belle medicine and breakfast ready. I was almost done when Ms. Edwards walked in.

"Morning Ms. Edwards." I said in a chipper tone.

"Morning honey. How are you today?" she asked while shrugging her coat off.

"I'm fine just going to give this to Ms. Belle and be on my way. I'll let her know that you're here." I said while going up the stairs.

I walked into Miss Belle's room to find her putting on her shoes.

"Good morning Ms Belle. Here is your medicine and toast. Ms. Edwards is downstairs waiting on you but I've got to go. Opie will be back before me. I've got to go grocery shopping after I close the store." I said while helping her get her shoes on.

"You're too sweet girl I'm so glad to have you to help me out." She said while patting my cheek and smiling.

I helped her down the stairs got her settled in her chair she took her medicine and I showed Ms. Edwards what she was supposed to take and when. I then left the house to open the store. I was almost to the store when a deer ran out in front of me. I barely missed it and almost had a heart attack. I continue to the shop and opened it and got everything ready for the day. A few minutes later I heard Terry the cook walked in.

"Morning ma'am." He said. Well it was more like a a rumble. Terry was a huge man

"Morning Terry. How's your wife?" I asked while I made biscuits.

"She's great thanks for asking." He said as he heated the grease.

It was almost lunch time when Opie came in. I walked over to him to get his order. He stood up when I got close enough and hugged me.

"Hey babe. How's your day?" he asked.

"It's going good so far. how was your day?" I asked

"Exhausting. Jacob with me he's going to be in, in a minute." He said while sitting down. A second later Jacob walked in looking wore out.

"Hey Jacob are you hungry?" I asked he grunted in response and told me what he wanted as did Opie. I took it to the kitchen and got other people's cashed out. Then took the food out to the tables and made my way to the boys table.

"Meredith, Jocelyn bumped the wedding date up to this Saturday and wanted me to invite you." Jacob said as I sat the plate down.

"I would love to come." I said while smiling.

"Great I'll let her know when I get home." he said. I nodded and walked away.

I was at the grocery store after I had closed the store. I was on the baking aisle because I really wanted cake. I was looking at the different varieties when Hannah walked by with a guy. She did a double-take as did I. she smiled and kept walking. I didn't know what happened I continued with my cake shopping. I skipped the box cakes and went over to the bakery. They had a really good Bakery to be in the store. I finally got home with my discount cake that had the name larry on it because some guy didn't need to get his cake. I stepped out of the car and my back door was open before I got out I looked over and saw Opie. I smiled at him and grabbed my cake he looked at my cake and Barked out a laugh

"Why do you have a cake with the name Larry on it?" he asked

"Discount cake." I Shrugged. I couldn't help myself I mean it's cake for Pete's sake.

We put away the groceries and I made dinner and then I took Ms. Belle her plate and then I was going to get mine and opie and came back with a plate but he met me halfway and grabbed his plate. He kissed me on my cheek and said thank you. and we walked back to the living room and we ate and watch TV
