Meredith's POV
After we had ate Opie asked if I wanted him to show me around. I was a little iffy going out with him but he assured me it wasnt a date.
So I was getting ready thinking about where we were going I dressed in skinny jeans a graphic t shirt and ankle boots. I felt weird about what I was wearing but when I saw Opie I relaxed a little bit. He was dressed in a plaid shirt and blue jeans and boots he topped it off with a cowboy hat. He looked really good and I mean mouthwatering good like the cowboys you see in movies.
He was such a gentleman. He opened my door for me and closed it and always said yes ma'am and no ma'am even though I told him he was older then me. He just simply said that's how he was raised. I thought it was a nice change from the people that I grew up around they were so disrespectful.
We finally got to a place called hank's bar and grill. It was a nice place with a dance floor and bar. I'm not much of a drinker but I had a beer any way after we ate he asked if I wanted to dance. So I quickly said yes cause I loved to dance.
We started dancing thirty minutes ago. All of a sudden I was pulled away from Opie and hands wrapped around my waist and I parked at the thought of him finding me.
"Hey darlin' why don't you ditch him and come dance with me?" The vocie slurred in my ear and I smelt the alcohol on his breathe. My thoughts when into over drive. I twisted his arm and brought my leg up to knee him in his balls. He immediately let go and fell to the ground in a ball clutching his balls. I chuckled when I thought that it rhymed I'm a regular poet. Opie let out a low whistle at my handy work. I took a bow and gave the guy a harsh glare. I started back dancing with Opie.
"You handle your self pretty well don't ya?" He asked with amusement in his vocie.
"Yeah I took a few self defense class. Not all people are nice like they are here." I said with a hint of sadness thinking about back home. I really hate having to look over my shoulder.
"Don't I know it but I guess it comes handy to learn how to your protect yourself. Especially if your a girl. Guys always feel it necessary to go after girls." He said shaking his head a frown tugging at his lips. I don't like to see anyone frown.
"Tell me about yourself Opie. What do you do for fun?" I asked trying to brighten the mood.
"Well when I'm not working or helping mama I ride horses and come here with Jacob when he's not with his fiance Jocelyn. Sometimes she comes but she's pretty busy right now so it's usually just us." He said.
"What do you usually do when your not moving all the way across the country?" he asked while laughing.
I burst out laughing as well. "Usually I would hang out with my mum. I used to hang out with my best friend Kate she took up a lot of my time but she moved to Florida after graduation." I said with a hint of sadness in my vocie I shook my head trying to clear the sad thoughts.
"I really miss Kate it's been a few years since I seen her." I stated.
"How come your moving all the way across the country? Doesn't seem right to just up and leave." He asked sincerely. I knew he meant well by asking it was just a touchy subject.
"Well it's mainly because if my step brother. I couldn't put up with how he was treating me. I'd really rather not talk about this though if that's okay?" I asked pleading silently for him to drop it. He did drop it and I was eternally grateful for the change of subject. We talked about riding horses and I told him I had never been on one. He told me that the next day me and him were going to ride horses come hell or high water. I had to hold back laughter when he said that funny saying. He was trying to show me his horses on his phone when he dropped it and he said and I quote "shit fire and save matches" and I about fell off the barstool from the laughter that came from me. I laughed so hard my eyes started to water.
I had a really good time with him tonight. I was thinking about him later that night when my phone started ringing. I had changed my number and let Kate and mum know my new number. I looked at the caller ID and my good mood dropped as I saw the all too familiar number.
