I packed the last bag in my car and turned around to hug my mother.

"Are you sure you have to leave?" she asked me.

"Yes mum it's for the best I just cant stay here any longer." I replied sadly.

He won't be able to find me all the way in Florida. I'll be safe I won't have to keep running. He'll never be able to hurt me again and if he does find me then I'll be ready to try out my self defense moves.

"Well if you need anything please call me and I'll do what ever I can for you okay?" she pleaded.

"Of course mum I'll call you all along the way. I love you so much mum." I assured her.

"Be safe baby girl" she said. 

"Always."I smiled.

Three hours later I was in my car listening to my GPS and then it stopped talking. Instead it started ringing and my stomach lurched at the thought of him calling me. It had been so long since I had a text, email, or a call from him I really hoped this wasn't him. I looked at my phone and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.  It was only my best friend Kate. She's the person I'm going to stay with Florida.

"Hey Boo!" she yelled into the phone before I even got a chance to say hello. Kate's always been the outgoing one where I am the more shy one. I guess that's why were friends we get each other. 

"Hey girl. What are you doing? Excited to see me?" I questioned.

"Yes i feel like I haven't seen you in forever I was just calling to make sure you were okay." she replied with a hint of worry in her voice. I had never been outside of California. Kate thinks I live a very sheltered life. I do things other then lay in bed and watch Netflix all day. I cant think of any right now but yeah. Kate moved to Florida for college right after high school but I never went away. I haven't seen her since we graduated in 2013. I really miss her so when I told her I was leaving she offered for me to stay with her. She's really like my sister she's always been there for me and always stood up for me.

"I'm doing good love I haven't had any problems." I said assuring her.

"Okay well i'll let you get back to driving I love you keep me updated" she said.

"I love you too girl!" I said. I hung up the phone and turned on my GPS again.
