[XXV]
"Hey Taehyung!"
The said male turned his attention to Jin before waving at the elder as he entered the kitchen early in the morning, but keeping muted as he did so.
"Dude did you hear about the fire?" Hoseok questioned as he approached Taehyung, putting his apron on in the process. Again the younger stayed silent as he lazily stuck his hands into the sink to wash them.
The black haired male wasn't in the best mood for obvious reasons, but he also couldn't find Jungkook anywhere which brought down his mood even more since the Prince was the only thing he got excited about anymore.
"My mom's Cafe got burned down. I wanted to try to get her a new job here but there's no more positions." Yoongi blankly told while propping himself up onto the counter observing everyone.
"She can pick up horse poop for money."
Yoongi gave Jin a disturbed glare. "Wow thanks Jin I'll tell her right away she'll be so excited." The male exclaimed sarcastically.
The four heads turned once they saw Namjoon holding Jimin's wrist as they walked into the Kitchen.
"You can let go of my wrist now." Jimin groaned as he slapped Namjoon's wrist off. The older of the two sighed before leaning in towards the youngers ear. "No funny business with Taehyung or else it's going straight to the King, understand?"
The latter chuckled as he looked over at Taehyung and back at the butler. "Try it, he won't believe you."
Namjoon death eyed Jimin as the male began walking over to the group, greeting Hoseok and Yoongi before turning to Taehyung who was wiping his hands with a paper towel. The Sous Chef turned his back at Jimin, already feeling uncomfortable and hoping for the life of him he wouldn't say anything to him.
"Hey Tae."
The said male replied with silence as he began making Jungkook's meal even though he had no clue where the Prince was. He figured he'd probably be back after he finished preparing his breakfast.
"I know you're mad at me, but listen please." Taehyung continued moving around the kitchen grabbing different ingredients to distract himself from crying because Jimin kept following him. He was more scared of him than when he was afraid of Jungkook.
"Are they in a fight?" Jin questioned Hoseok and Yoongi while holding a bag of brown sugar. The two others just shrugged because they had no clue what was going on. "Jimin somehow knows how to get everyone mad at him so I don't blame Taehyung." Jin commented as he headed back to his station.
After about a half an hour the meals were finished. Taehyung ignored Jimin the whole time until now when all of the plates were being handed to him to serve. Jimin raised an eyebrow once the latter didn't hand over his plate.
"I-I'm going to give this to Jungkook myself."
The server rolled his eyes as he took both of Jin's plates and headed out the door. Taehyung's done this many times before so there wasn't really anything he could say.
Once Jimin was out the doors, Taehyung grabbed the plate and darted out of the kitchen. Everyone gave him a weird look because of how fast he left the room.
"Yup they're definitely in a fight." Yoongi stated before he began cleaning up random things.
"E-excuse me?" Taehyung nervously asked one of the maids while approaching her. "Yes dear?" The woman said while giving a sweet smile to the boy she saw crying the day before. "Have you seen Prince Jungkook?"
"I'm afraid I have not." The lady frowned showing concern. Taehyung was only growing more and more worried but still forced a smile onto his face as he tightened his grip around the plate of food. "Thank you."
The Sous Chef walked away from the lady, turning the corner and making his way to his temporary room. He sighed as he closed the door behind him and placed the food onto a small table. He checked everywhere that morning for Jungkook. His room, the gym, the game room, even the garden and he was no where to be found.
Taehyung leaned his head downward while closing his eyes. He really felt lost not knowing where the Prince was. He thought about asking the King and Queen but in the end he chickened out.
'Clunk'
The male lifted his head at the noise and directed his head towards the echo. He softly smiled once he realized the dove had tried to get in the room but banged itself on the window instead, not seeing the clear glass.
Taehyung got himself up from the bed and walked over to the window, lifting the glass up and letting Pete inside. The dove flew into the room and eventually onto the latters shoulder.
"Hey." The black haired male softly said, tilting his head to the side once he saw a small note in the birds beak. Curiously Taehyung took the note and paced over to his bed while opening it. Once he read it a small lip smile arose to his face along with a pink blush.
Meet me in the field or else I'm stealing Pete away from you :)
PS, bring the breakfast you made in a basket - Big bad Prince Jungkook
Taehyung giggled to himself as he set the note down, picking up the plate of food to go find a basket along with Pete on his shoulder.
-
The black haired male nervously clutched the basket in his hand as he walked up the field. He didn't really know what was going on but all he knew was that he was excited to see Jungkook. After walking a bit more the silhouette of a person sitting could be made out.
Taehyung hesitated before walking up to the person, blushing once he saw the Prince sitting on a blanket while looking into the sky.
Building up his confidence the Sous Chef got closer to the male before tapping him on the shoulder, smiling once Jungkook turned around to face him.
"Oh hey Pete!"
A big frown showed up on Taehyung's face as he watched Jungkook stand up and grab the dove off his shoulders, the Prince giggling to himself as he pretended to not notice the elders existence.
"I guess Taehyung didn't come, looks like it's just you and me." Jungkook smiled as he began stroking the dove's feathers.
The latter crossed his arms as he waited for the Prince to say something to him. "Jungkook?"
"Wait did you hear something?" The raven haired exclaimed as he lifted his hand to his ear as if he was trying to make out a sound. "Because I didn't."
Annoyed, Taehyung set down the basket and jokingly pushed Jungkook to the ground making Pete fly off of his shoulder. He broke out into a smile once he tripped making both fall down onto the blanket, laughing alongside each other. The two rolled around on the blanket until The Prince was on top of the older.
"Oh look who showed up." Jungkook teased, smiling in the latters direction before getting off of Taehyung who was blushing madly. Both of the males hearts were beating rapidly which they just covered up with a smile.
"I'm not good at this kind of stuff but uh, I thought it'd be fun to have a picnic." The Prince nervously said. In his mind he was imagining it as a date even thought he knew it was one sided.
"The food's going to be cold." Taehyung giggled as he took the bundle of food out of the basket. It consisted of bread, butter, and mini pancakes.
Jungkook was about to say something before Pete swooped in and landed on top of the basket and pecking at the bread. "Hey!" The older yelled as he picked Pete up from the bread. "Not for you." He scolded.
The Prince smiled to himself as he watched Taehyung scold the bird. Without the latter looking Jungkook pulled the basket over to his side and pulled a piece of the bread apart, throwing a small piece at Taehyung who snapped his head towards Jungkook.
"Wasn't me, it was Pete." The younger stated while putting his hands up in defense.
"Pete is in my hands how is that possible?"
"It's a psychic bird." Jungkook jokingly told with a serious expression as he plopped a mini pancake into his mouth. The older rolled his eyes, smiling as he placed the dove down.
Taehyung quickly stole the basket from Jungkook and copied his action in picking a piece out of the bread and throwing it at the younger. "It was Pete."
"Oh really?" Jungkook replied as he stood up with the bread in his hands, hinting to the older that he was about to chase him. Quickly the latter stood up and started running for his life, giving himself a 3 second head start before the Prince started chasing him with half of the bread in his hands.
"Stop!" Taehyung yelled while giggling as he kept getting hit by tiny pieces of bread. Yes they were wasting a lot of food but they could care less in this moment.
Eventually Jungkook ran out of bread and caught up to Taehyung, quickly wrapping his arms around the back of Tae's waist which stopped the him from running. Out of complete nowhere, the Prince placed a soft peck onto the elders right cheek. Why? He didn't know but it was definitely out of instinct.
Taehyung's whole face froze up once he felt Jungkook's lips on his cheek quickly disappear. He turned his head a little so he could look at the younger from behind him who was teasingly smiling.
"It was Pete." Jungkook jokingly said.
The Sous Chef softly smiled as he looked over at the dove who was still on the blanket walking in circles, then back at the Prince as he was still being back-hugged. It felt so good to be in his arms and he never wanted it to end for some reason.
"Prince Jeon Jungkook?!"
The said male quickly let go of Taehyung and turned his attention to the two little kids who were staring at the two in awe. The town wasn't far away from the field so it wasn't too strange for kids to end up where they were.
"That must be me." Jungkook chuckled as he kneeled down to reach the little kids height. Taehyung found it adorable how the Prince interacted with them since he loved little kids. ( a/n can't relate )
"Is that your boyfriend?!" The little girl excitedly asked pointing to Taehyung who quickly tilted his head down because he didn't want the Prince to see how hard he was blushing.
Jungkook also had a slight blush on his face as he looked at the said male then back at the kids who were holding hands. "He's my very good friend."
"Oh, well this is my boyfriend!" The little girl exclaimed as she began swinging back and forth her and the boy's hand she was holding. "I love him very very much." She told as she pecked the boys cheek who smiled back at her.
Meanwhile Taehyung was gushing over how cute the little kids were. Even though they were probably only like five he's always wanted a cute relationship like that.
"Can we have your autograph?" The little boy asked who was holding a piece of paper in his hands. "Of course." The Prince replied as he carefully took the paper from the small pair of hands, writing down his signature along with a drawing of a little dove.
"Thank you!" The two said in unison as the paper was handed back to them, happily running back to town while still holding hands. Luckily the fire didn't reach anywhere near the main town so nothing there was harmed.
Jungkook stood up from his kneeling position and walked back over to Taehyung who was still faintly blushing which the Prince could now see.
"I didn't think you'd like kids." Taehyung commented as the two started heading back over to the blanket. "Oh why cause I'm the big bad evil Prince?" The older laughed as he jokingly punched Jungkook's shoulder who laughed alongside Taehyung.
-
Jungkook held the blanket by his side while Taehyung held the basket in his hand as the two entered back into the castle, dropping the items by the entrance since carrying it got heavy after a while.
"Thanks Kook." The latter commented out of no where causing the said male to raise an eyebrow. "For what?"
"Today, it got my mind off of everything. So thank you."
Before Jungkook could comment back the two were interrupted by the King who had just walked out to see the two who he noticed were standing very close to each other. The man smiled as he approached them both.
"Taehyung." The King stated making the said male bow in his direction. "Yes Your Majesty?"
"I need you to come with me for a second, there is something to discuss."
"Ok." Jungkook said out of no where, expecting himself to come with Taehyung and his father. The King rolled his eyes as he faced his son. "Not you Jungkook, I just need Taehyung."
The raven haired Prince groaned to himself, crossing his arms in frustration because he didn't want to leave Taehyung. The older laughed as he faced the younger again. "It's okay Kook, I'll be back in a second." The black haired male gave Jungkook a smile before walking with the King to a certain room down the hallway.
As Taehyung was walking he had an admirer watching him until he disappeared which you could guess was Jungkook who had hearts in his eyes once again. And to ruin the moment the dove came flying into the hallway and landed on his shoulder, the Prince giving Pete an annoyed look.
It was almost like the bird was teasing him for his 'heart eyes' which caused Jungkook to sigh as he started walking back to his room. "Shut up bird."
shut up bird❤️
