[XXIV]
Jungkook practically sprinted down the hallways of the castle, ignoring some of the maids complaints along the way. The male turned a corner and heavily breathed out once he was standing in front of the guest room.
Without hesitation the Prince opened up the door to the room and immediately scanned the room for Taehyung who he couldn't spot. "Tae?" He called out before rushing into the bathroom to see if the elder was in their to which he was not.
"No, no, no." Jungkook repeated before rushing out of the room knowing the older was not in there.
"Your Majesty?" One of the maids suddenly called out to the sprinting Prince who stopped in his tracks at the name. "Can't you see I'm in a rush?" Jungkook groaned before turning to face the lady who gulped.
"Is everything okay Your Majesty?"
The said male pursed his lips into a line, looking to the side in frustration before looking back at the maid. "Have you seen Kim Taehyung?" Jungkook raised his eyebrow he noticed the worried look on the woman's face.
"Oh is he the young boy with black curly hair? I saw him go upstairs to the patio a few moments ago, I believe he was crying.. why is there som-" The maid couldn't finish what she was going to say before the Prince was gone in a flash, darting up the stairs to the patio in fear.
"Shit.." Jungkook whisper-yelled to himself once he accidentally hit his ankle against a corner, brushing off the pain quickly before sprinting over to the patio doors.
He didn't want to think about it but a crying Taehyung and a high up patio did not sound safe to him one bit which only scared him more for what he could see before the raven haired Prince opened up the doors to the patio. His rapid heart beat slowly calmed down, sighing out in relief once he saw the black haired male leaning against the railing while gazing off into the distance.
Jungkook dropped all of his worry as he slowly approached the older who hasn't noticed the Prince's presence yet. That changed once Jungkook copied Taehyung as he leaned himself against the railing, sadly looking at the elders side profile making it obvious to him that he was crying.
"Hey.." The younger softly said. He hoped the black haired male would reply even though he seemed to emotionless at the moment.
Jungkook turned his head back to face the view once he realized he wasn't going to get a response. It really pained his heart to see Taehyung like this.
"I'm sorry I didn't come sooner, I- I lost track of time.."
Taehyung still kept his gaze only looking at the distance where basically the whole Kingdom was visible, and Jungkook knew the older was only looking at the church which was completely burnt down by now.
"Not that it'll fix anything, but I lost my Grandparents a couple years ago." Jungkook almost inaudibly told, just loud enough so that Taehyung would hear. He smiled to himself as he recalled the memories with his Grandparents.
"I know.."
The younger male widened his eyes as he stared back at the elders side profile who had his eyes shut. "Y-you do? How?"
"Jimin told me.." Taehyung responded, opening his eyes back up to look at the Prince who looked like he was going to burst from anger. But he calmed himself back down knowing it wasn't the time to get in a bad mood over Jimin.
Jungkook shook off the feeling and looked back over the ledge.
"My Grandparents were like my best friends, no matter how old they got they always seemed to understand me." The Prince sadly chuckled. "I think I loved them more than my parents."
Taehyung softly smiled at the younger with tears in his eyes. "My parents were that way too."
Jungkook turned all of his attention to the black haired who started speaking. "They never had much money but they always did their best to raise me and keep me entertained. They were probably the most selfless people I've ever met."
The youngers eyes grew worried once he saw Taehyung squint his eyes again while hanging his head low.
"I didn't even get to say goodbye, the day they died and tonight."
"Oh Tae.." Jungkook sighed, carefully wrapping his arms around the older who began sobbing once again. He pulled him in tight for a hug, closing his eyes as he rested his head on the latter's shoulder.

"That fire definitely wasn't an accident." Jungkook told to Namjoon. The two were sitting on one of the couches in the guest room. The Prince wanted to talk to the butler but he also didn't want to leave Taehyung alone as he slept, so he made Namjoon sit with him.
Pete was also there, standing on the couch next to Jungkook but his head was pointed in the direction of Taehyung.
"It was too unnatural, how it started and the way it spread." Jungkook commented. The two were whispering back and forth to each other in an effort not to wake Taehyung. "You don't think it was Jimin, do you?" Namjoon questioned since he knew about what Jimin tried to do with the Sous Chef.
"That's impossible. He was in the Castle the whole time Tae and I were out, he left after the fire started."
"Lucas?"
"I saw him with Jimin in the garden before we left. The fire started while they were still in the garden." The Prince explained. It was really baffling him because those were the only two people who would have a reason to hurt Taehyung.
The two stayed in silent confusion for a moment. Both were so confused on the whole situation, they couldn't even imagine how hurt and confused Taehyung must feel.
"That bird creeps me out." Namjoon commented as he leaned back on the couch, breaking the silence. "Haha, funny Joon." The younger sarcastically commented.
The door to the room was open so Jungkook panicked once he saw his mother standing in the entryway with a concerned look on her face.
"Shit." The Prince whispered as he stood up. "Stay here." He ordered Namjoon before approaching his mother, closing the door behind the two so they wouldn't wake Taehyung.
"Why is Taehyung sleeping in the guest room?" The Queen crossed her arms with a sophisticated look on her face. "Only maids and butlers are allowed to stay the night, you know this son."
"Mom, he needs a place to stay." He started. "His house burned down in the fire, he has no where to go."
The woman placed a hand over her chest with a shocked look placed onto her face. "Oh my.." The Queen's eyes filled with worry before placing her hand back down. "That is awful."
"I know mother, and-" The raven haired started but was cut off by the woman.
"But."
The Prince raised an eyebrow at the 'but'.
"I will still not allow that boy to spend the night, it is far too inappropriate knowing how you feel towards men and-"
"I think it is absolutely fine son." The King suddenly told as he walked into the scene. Jungkook gulped at the awkward situation, he just wanted to run back into the room and cuddle Taehyung to bed but that obviously wasn't going to happen now.
"We cannot say no to him honey." The man told to his wife who slumped her shoulders. "I heard his parents coffins were in the church that burned down, along with his house. He needs time to become emotionally stable again. Besides, he has made excellent meals for us."
Knowing there was nothing she could say, the Queen gave both of the men one last look before strutting away from the two.
"Thanks." Jungkook told to his father who smiled back. "I don't know what her problem was, but Taehyung is definitely welcome anytime."
The Prince nodded back to his father as he walked back to the door, placing his hand on the doorknob before his father spoke again.
"One last thing." Jungkook raised his eyebrows, hand still on the knob.
"By any chance have you and Taehyung been seeing a dove lately?"
How did he know the raven haired asked himself before directing his attention back up to his father. "How did you know?" The King placed a knowingly smile onto his face before stuffing his hands into his pockets. "I'll let you know soon. Goodnight son."
"Goodnight.." The Prince mumbled back. Wow, another thing to be confused about Jungkook told himself as he opened up the door. Taehyung was still sleeping while Namjoon and the Dove seemed to be having a staring contest.
"Ah Jungkook, finally." Namjoon stated, slapping his thighs while standing up. "I'm going to head to bed, it's midnight. You staying here?"
The Prince only nodded his head in response. The butler smiled as he placed his hand on the youngers shoulder before heading out. "That bird is really giving me the creeps." The older mumbled before heading out the door making Jungkook roll his eyes.
Now the only one's left in the room were Pete, Jungkook, and Taehyung who the Prince couldn't take his eyes off of. Barely even realizing it the Prince began inching towards the bed, kneeling down onto his right knee while staring at the older with doe eyes.
Jungkook softly moved a bit of Taehyungs hair out of his face, revealing his seemingly perfect face. The raven haired slowly closed his eyes as he leaned in, giving the black haired male a peck on his forehead before pulling back.
"I'm so sorry about everything I've done to hurt you, you don't deserve any of this. You don't deserve to be miserable like me." Jungkook spoke out, moving another strand of hair away from the elders soft face that was stained with tears.
"And you definitely don't deserve someone like me to like you, so much.."
goodnight <3
