'9:28 PM'
"I'm gonna' miss you you annoying ass hat." Yoongi whisper-chuckled to Jungkook as he lightly pat him on the back.
Namjoon, Jin, Hoseok, Yoongi, Taehyung, and Jungkook were all in packed together in a separate hallway. Their 'running away' plans didn't really turn out to be 'running away' since they mentally couldn't leave without saying goodbye. The more accurate terminology would be leaving.
"You guys are going to visit this Kingdom soon, right?" Hoseok hopefully questioned, receiving hesitant nods from the Prince and ex- sous chef. They knew they would eventually come back, but 'when' was the real question.
After nodding, Taehyung approached Namjoon who was again still trying to hold back his tears. The said younger smiled before giving the older a hug. "Thank you for taking care of Jungkook." He whispered.
"I should be thanking you for that." The butler chuckled, pulling back from the hug and giving Taehyung a smile. "You're the reason he's smiley and happy again."
Following his remark Namjoon pointed over to Jungkook, who was as said, smiling and giggling while conversing with the three other males. Taehyung also felt a rush of happiness seeing the Prince in a good state of mind.
Seconds later, Jungkook made his way over to Namjoon who also gave him a soft smile.
"You and Jin take good care of this Kingdom, okay?"
"Of course little bro.'" The older heartwarmingly said, which received another hug from the Prince.
After Taehyung and Jungkook bid their goodbye's for the hundredth time, the two said males picked up their bags off the ground as they watched three males exit the building to head home.. as for Namjoon head back to his room. He was actually in a good mood, knowing Jungkook was finally content and happy.
"You ready?" Taehyung questioned with a nervous but excited smile, the pair staring at the door which the three males exited from. The black haired was expecting a quick agreeing answer, but he actually received the opposite.
The two still had to look for and find Pete, but they decided they would do that on their way out starting in the field.
"No."
Jungkook let out a sigh, turning his head over to the latter who had a confused look on his face.
"I need to say goodbye to my dad, I can't just leave him with no context." The younger told, Taehyung understanding right away. Honestly he forgot about that detail until now, it wasn't as easy as he wished it could be.
The King didn't know the two were leaving yet, but the Prince told himself that he would inform his dad when saying goodbye. It made him so anxious but he knew his dad would understand in the right context.
Before the latter could respond, Jungkook reached into his backpack and pulled out the two small urns which he so longed for. It was the closest thing he had to his grandparents, and he finally decided it was time to say goodbye.. for good.
Taehyung's eyes quickly softened once he saw what the Prince was holding.
"I wanted to do this with only you, but they're my Father's parents.. he should be there to say goodbye too." Jungkook explained, receiving a reassuring nod from the older.
"Of course Kook, I agree."
"I wanted to um.." The Prince began, suddenly becoming hesitant. "I wanted to do it before we left, but I want to release them somewhere nice and Idon'tknowwheretodoitorhowtoandI-" Jungkook began quickly rambling so he wouldn't stutter, Taehyung shutting him up with a small peck.
The older knew this was a very sensitive topic and action for Jungkook to take on, so he wanted to comfort him in all the ways possible.
"Your dad will know what to do, we should go talk to him. Unless you want to go alone?" Taehyung asked.
"No I want you to come with me." Jungkook quickly replied with no hesitation. The said older nodded with a reassuring smile as he intertwined his hands with the Prince who was holding the two small urns in his other hand.
-
"Come in." The King stated once he heard knocks coming from his door. He was accepting either a maid or Namjoon to enter since it was so late at night, but definitely not his son or Taehyung.
"What are you two boys doing up so late?" The Man questioned with a chuckle, leaving his desk which he was working on and approaching the nervous looking pair.
"D-dad I um.." Jungkook began. Taehyung gripped his hand tighter to try to comfort him, which actually did calm the Prince down a little more.
"I'm ready to say goodbye to them."
The King's son then let go of the black haired males hand so he could hold both of the urns, hands shaking as he let his Father process what he just heard. It must've been shocking to him since his son had been denying it for so long.
Both watched as a light smile appeared on the Man's face, his eyes turning away from the earns and back towards his son and Taehyung. "That is wonderful son."
Giving the pair one last smile, the King placed his hand onto his sons back as he lead Jungkook and Taehyung outside of the room. Taehyung was back to holding the Prince's hand, who's heart was racing at 100 miles per. hour.
The King eventually lead the two outside the building, in other words it could be described as the back yard. It was still dark out, but a little lamp built into one of the pillars caused a little light to make it's way into the area.
"This is where your Grandparents first met." The man stated with a sad chuckle while staring at an oak tree, Jungkook's eyes widening because he's never been told this before. "My father used to come outside here all the time in his Prince years, my mother's dog ran away from her and into here. She somehow managed to sneak over into the yard to retrieve her dog, which is where your Grandma met your Grandpa."
Jungkook was completely speechless, his Father letting out a sigh before softly taking the urns from his sons hands.
"I think they would adore to be scattered here." The man told, staring at his son and waiting for his confirmation.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Taehyung whispered to the younger while still gripping his hand. Jungkook lightly nodded his head while all of his attention was on the oak tree.
"Ready son?" The Prince's father questioned.
The said male was so lost in thought while staring at the tree his Grandparents supposedly met at. He wished he'd known sooner. But he eventually snapped back to reality, his eyes drifting over to his father who was holding the urn with their ashes.
"Wait.. I want to do it." Jungkook told. The King gave him a sweet smile before carefully handing him the urns. Again, the youngest let go of Taehyung's hand so he could grip both.
The Prince's heart tugged once he began twisting the first urn open, being his Grandfathers. He was never sure this day would ever come, but thanks to Taehyung he felt stronger than ever and actually felt capable of doing this.
The King had already dug a small hole after he handed his son the urn so the ashes could be properly buried.
Inhaling and exhaling, Jungkook softly closed his eyes and reopened them. He smiled as he took a handful of the ashes and tried to control his breathing.
"Goodbye Grandpa.. I love you." The Prince whispered to himself, holding Taehyung's hand tighter as he hesitated before lightly scattering the ashes into the hole in front of the oak tree.
He felt his eyes starting to water up as he observed all of the scattered ashes that were barely visible now. Although, it did feel like a big weight had been released off of his shoulders. A weight that he had been carrying around for too long now.
On the other hand, Taehyung and the King both felt so proud of the Prince knowing how hard this was for him.
Jungkook sucked up his confidence and began opening the second urn, his Grandmothers. Staring at the ashes tucked in his hand he let a tear slip from his eye before closing them.
After opening his eyes back up, he stared down at the small 'grave' and inhaled a heath of air.
"Goodbye G-grandma.. thank you f-for always being there f-for me."
Once all of the ashes were in the hole, Jungkook was able to suck up his tears and instead smile that now this had been done. He knew he'd had to say goodbye someday, and he was glad he could do it with the two people he loved most.
If he had never met Taehyung, this would have never happened and that was a big awakening for the Prince. Jungkook noticed how strong the said male was after losing almost everything, including his Parents. He thought since the older could say goodbye, why couldn't he?
As the King was calmly covering up the grave with a shovel, Taehyung wrapped his arms around the younger and kissed his cheek.
"I'm so so so so proud of you my brave Prince." The said male whispered making Jungkook smile and giggle a bit. He was honestly quite proud of himself too, and having Taehyung's support meant the world to him.
"I hope they have found peace." The King said while longingly staring at the patched up dirt spot.
Seeing how satisfied his father was, Jungkook didn't even know how to begin to tell him that he was leaving. Now that his 'emotions were back' he couldn't bear to make his Father miserable.
Noticing how nervous Taehyung and Jungkook looked now, the Man chuckled a bit before speaking.
"It's okay, you two can go I'm not holding you back."
The two males hearts stopped beating once they heard the Kings words. How did he know? Was the first question that popped into both of their heads.
"Wha-"
"Namjoon already explained the whole situation to me. Jin and him will be taking your place and will be studying abroad. At first I was hesitant about it, but I realized you two make up each others happiness and that is what really matters. As long as someone is in charge of the Kingdom, which we now have thanks to Namjoon and Jin, everything can run perfectly." The King stated, making his son speechless again and Taehyung only loving the King more.
"W-why are you letting us go? Just like that?" Jungkook curiously questioned. His father placed a hand on the Prince's shoulder and reassuringly smiled.
"The fact I got to say goodbye to my parents with my son is enough for me to feel content with my life. You are old enough to make your own decisions, along with Taehyung who I trust dearly." The King smiled at the said male. "You both deserve all of the happiness in the world, and I am not one to take that away from you."
After processing what his Father had just said, Jungkook immediately rushed over to the Man and jumped into his arms. "Thank you so much dad you have no idea what this means to me." The youngest told.
"You are ordered to come visit here though often." The King chuckled after saying, letting go of his son who quickly agreed before facing Taehyung.
"Thank you so much Your Majesty." The black haired male bowed.
"No need to be so formal. You are like a son to me Taehyung." The King stated as he carefully pulled the boy in for a hug.
Jungkook had never really realized his Fathers kindness until now, which he could also thank Taehyung for since the said male also made the Prince see the best in people. He really changed him for the better.
Now everything seemed to be just perfect.
