[VIII]

"Dad, Mom, are Grandma and Grandpa okay?" 12 year old Jungkook questioned his parents as the three of them sat staring at the pair who were breathlessly lying in their beds. His mother wiped the tear away from her eye and smiled, saying nothing.

The three heads shot up once they saw the Prince's Grandma lend her shaking hand out to Jungkook. "C-come here Gguk-"

The said boy obliged while taking the woman's hand in his, he was confused on why his parents started crying. He didn't see any reason to cry.

"You know Grandpa and I love you right?"

The boy nodded his head, still very confused on the situation. "Grandpa and I are going to go on a little vacation for a while." Jungkook's eyes brightened up. He wondered where they were going, he also wanted to go.

"Where?! Can I go?" The woman chuckled at her grandson, letting out a hasty cough afterwards. "I'm sorry Gguk not this time, but I want you to know something." Jungkook waited in anticiptaion for her to continue speaking, his mother was now sobbing while his father was commforting her.

"No matter how long we are gone for, never feel the need to change yourself. I want you to stay the happy and positive boy that I know, no matter how old you grow just know that I will be watching you and hoping for you to make the right choices. Even if we don't come back make sure to stay smiling and always be kind to whoever comes into your life. I love you Jungkook, Grandpa does too."

"What do you mean? You're coming back right?" The young Prince questioned, but he got no response before his Grandmothers hand slipped from his own now laying lifelessly on the bed sheets.

"Grandma? Grandpa?"

"I just don't know how we're going to get him to agree to saying goodbye to them, we can't keep them forever." The King stated, pacing the room back and forth while his wife sat on the couch near him, sewing together strings in her lap.

"Maybe we should wait another year." The Queen suggested. "But we've been pushing it aside every year, he's so stubborn next year he's just going to deny again. The whole Kingdom now knows how stubborn he is, our reputation is falling."

Everyone knew that Prince Jungkook was cold and mean to everyone, no one knew why though. Only Namjoon, Jimin, and his parents knew why. Everyone thought that was just how he's always been, but before his Grandparents death and his breakup he was a completely different person.

"Our son needs to mature up. He acts like he's five whenever someone talks about his Grandparents. I think he even still believes that they're on a vacation." The man argued. His wife's eyes widened once she looked over his shoulder. "Honey.."

The King groaned while turning around, meeting the watering eyes of his son who was standing in the corner of the enterance to the living room. Jungkook quickly ran away before either of his parents could talk to him.

The Prince kept running and running down the hall before he turned a corner, eyeing the wall in front of him before slamming his fists onto it.

After resting his fists against the wall for a little more, Jungkook began walking around the corner. His eyes weren't watering anymore because he forced himself not to feel anything, he again hated feeling.

Once he turned the next corner he realized he was at the enterance of the kitchen. For a reason he didn't know of, the Prince peeked his head inside of the kitchen with an angered look still on his face.

Inside he could see Jin and Jimin arguing over something stupid as always, Yoongi and Hoseok lost in their own world, and Taehyung who was sitting by himself in the corner eating food from a plastic bag. The black haired male had a pout on his face, it was like everyone in the room was ignoring him.

"Looking for something?"

Jungkook quickly whipped his head around to see Namjoon who had his eyebrows raised. The fear in the Prince's eyes went away before he let out a sigh. "No."

"Looked like you were looking at Taehyung." The butler smirked, looking inside the kitchen and frowning once he saw the said male in the corner alone. He knew that everyone was mad at him for not being present that one time. "I wasn't. But why is he not talking to anyone?"

"I think they're all mad at him for not cooking that one time. Why are you concerned?"

The prince ignored Namjoon as he looked back at the older. Jungkook's frown returned back to his face because the image brought up a memory of when he was ignored by his ex who would always ignore him to hang out with his other friends.

Jungkook quickly hid behind the wall once his eyes met with Taehyung's. The Sous Chef raised his eyebrow once he saw the Prince staring at him with a sad expression, he thought the Prince hated him. Why was he staring at me?  He thought.

"Why was Jungkook staring at Taehyung?" Jimin questioned, stopping the argument him and Jin were having over sock colors. The older of the two shrugged, putting his apron on because it was time to start preparing lunch. "Probably thinks he's hot."

"I don't blame him."

Jin quickly turned his gaze to Jimin's. The younger of the two didn't even realize what he just said, so once he did realize what he said he widened his eyes in fear.

"Dude what did you say?"

"Nothing."

The two were both far away enough from Taehyung so the said male couldn't hear the conversation. He was too lost in his thoughts anyways. He felt uncomfortable to be in the kitchen knowing everyone was mad at him, he kept trying to think of ways to make it up to everyone including Jungkook.

Jin rolled his eyes, deciding to shrug off what the younger just said before picking up an apron. "Taehyung put this on." He yelled to the Sous Chef, throwing it into his lap.

-

Jungkook wouldn't admit it but he definitely did feel something when he looked at Taehyung being ignored by everyone. He didn't care enough to actually do something about it, but he did feel something and he hated it.

It must've been obvious because Namjoon wouldn't stop asking him about it.

"Namjoon can you just shut the fuck up for once?"

The butler halted in his steps. The two were almost to the Prince's room until Jungkook had to yell again. "Well can you tell my why you're so bipolar all of a sudden?"

The Prince's face grew red as he tried to hold back his overbearing anger. He just wanted everyone to leave him alone, was it that hard of a request?

"Jesus Jungkook, I miss the old you. You used to never be like this, you used to get excited over the smallest things and never said a bad word about anyone. You've never been the same for five years, you started to become the same until Lucas.."

"You know why, and don't bring up Lucas." Jungkook huffed out.

"Everyone misses you Jungkook. Yoongi, Jin, your Parent's, Hoseok, and even Jimin whether you believe it or not. You two used to be best friends."

The Prince opened up the door to his room and stood in the entry way, eyeing his butler who was hoping Jungkook was listening to what he was saying.

"Well I don't know why they miss me because I'm not dead yet." Namjoon sighed in defeat once the stubborn younger shut the door on him once again. He was growing hopeless on finding ways to get through to Jungkook, everyone was too. It just seemed impossible now.
