[VII]
Taehyung frowned once he watched Jin, Yoongi, and Hoseok walk out of the room without saying goodbye to him for the night. He was so pissed at himself that he messed up his first possible few friendships including Jungkook.
"Don't worry about them, they'll get over it." Jimin tried to reassure the younger, placing a hand onto his back in comfort. "I hope. I should head over to the Prince now I guess, I'm pretty sure he's mad at me as well."
"Jungkook doesn't like anyone so don't take that personal, well besides his grandparents."
Taehyung raised his eyebrow at Jimin who had just begun packing up. "His grandparents?"
"Yeah, they died a few years back. It's a shame because I heard they were really nice people."
The black haired male widened his eyes while staring at his hands. Taehyung has never told anyone besides his pastor about the death of his own parents, so it was shocking to hear someone else had a similar experience to his. He wondered if that's why the Prince was always in a bad mood.
"Oh." Was all the younger could say, kind of being left speechless before Jimin started heading out the door. "Yeah it made the whole kingdom speechless as well. Well anyways it was nice talking to you Taehyung, we should hang out some time outside of the kitchen?"
Taehyung smiled even though there was so much on his mind at the moment. "Of course Jimin." He responded before the said male gave the latter a quick smile before exiting the room. The Sous Chef was glad he at least might've had one friend now.
Taehyung picked up his bags and began heading towards Prince Jungkook's room. He was reminded of the fact that Jin made the youngers dinner this night, so the Prince probably didn't have any 'good news' he thought.
With a turn of the nob, the black haired lightly knocked on the door before opening it revealing Jungkook who seemed to be working on some documents. The younger didn't realize that Taehyung was in his room yet which is why he didn't turn around in his chair.
"Sir- I mean Jungkook?"
The said male set down his pens before slowly turning around in his chair, eyeing the older with a death setting gaze which intimidated Taehyung a bit. "N-namjoon told me you wanted me a-again."
Jungkook ignored Taehyung once again as he lazily got up from his seat, inching closer and closer to the older who began backing away because of the close proximity. The only thing in the Prince's eyes were anger.
"Was that your sick little plan? To act all giddy and fun with me and then make me something revolting!?"
The Prince wasn't only mad about the meal, but he was also still mad at his parents for bringing up his grandparents again. He had started to begin to move on and of course they had to bring them up again.
"No S-sir.. I missed my shift so Jin had to make you dinner.."
"Bullshit. And you still don't fucking call me by what I tell you to call me."
"I-I'm sorry Jungkook.."
The two stayed silent for a moment after, the Prince was still trying to calm himself down and Taehyung was trying not to breath out of fear. He didn't think the Jeon Palace would hold such a scary and ordering Prince.
"Your job here is to make me food, that's your only job. Is it that hard?" The younger scolded out.
"I'm really sorry, I won't miss another shift again Sir."
The said male eyed Taehyung again once he heard the word 'Sir' again. "You really are deaf aren't you." Jungkook stepped in closer to the latter before raising his palm up, not giving Taehyung time to process what was going to happen before he struck his hand across the elders cheek, leaving a red handprint.
Taehyung quickly brought his own hand up to his cheek because of the sting, the Prince not feeling any guilt or mercy whatsoever since he was only feeling heated.
The latter looked up at Jungkook with fear filled eyes after he was hit. Jungkook loved when people feared him, it boosted his self confidence in a way.
"No more Gym, and I don't want to see you in here again. Understood?"
Taehyung wanted to object since he loved going into the Gym so much, it was his favorite part of the castle and he felt like he was starting to get good at basketball. But he also didn't want to get slapped again, so all he did was nod.
"The doors that way." Jungkook sarcastically pointed to the door right behind the older since he wasn't moving.
Taehyung was genuinely hurt. All he really wanted was a friend, yes he sort of had Jimin but he also wanted to build friendships with everyone else.. especially Jungkook since in his opinion he was the most interesting out of all of the guys. But he was also the meanest which is why Taehyung also wanted to just run away from him.
As the black haired was walking out of the door, Namjoon coincidentally walked in his direction causing the butler to widen his eyes once he saw the Sous Chef's red cheek and feared expression.
"Taehyung are you okay? What happened to your cheek?"
"Nothing.." The younger bluntly responded, trying to get as far away from Jungkook's room as possible.
"Was it Jungkook?"
Taehyung stopped in his steps, slowly looking towards the ground and nodding his head. He really didn't like the fact that he already got slapped only five days into the job. He didn't think he was that much of an idiot but apparently he was.
Namjoon rolled his eyes in response, leaving the younger be as he stormed over to the Prince's room. He slammed the door open once there and death glared Jungkook who went back to working on his documents, the Prince turned around in his chair once he heard Namjoon run in.
"Yes?"
"Jungkook I get you like to be rude, but slapping Taehyung is way too far. He works for the palace in the kitchen! It's not like he's your servant you can mess around with."
The said male sighed to himself, setting down the stack of papers while still sitting in his chair. "He needs to learn his lesson. He should be thanking me because if he keeps making me disgusting food then I'll just fire him."
"No you wouldn't because the King and Queen would have to agree to that as well, and I'm pretty sure they like him very much." Namjoon pointed out, making his way over to Jungkook's bookshelf to examine it for no particular reason. "Besides, he's been having a hard time lately so I don't think making a mockery of him is the best idea."
"So? I don't care about people's feelings, feelings are overrated." The Prince stubbornly responded. Namjoon turned around with a sigh.
"Your Majesty, I've only known Taehyung for five days and I can already tell he's very sensitive-"
"Why should I care?"
Giving up, Namjoon turned away from the bookshelf and began walking back over to the door entrance. "I'm just saying give him a chance at the very least, he might be a good influence on you. Ever thought of making a friend?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes while spinning his chair around and fixating his eyes on the millions of letters. "You're acting like my parents Namjoon."
"Well, you don't talk to Hoseok or Jin. You rarely talk to Yoongi, and you hate Jimin who are the only people around here that are guys around your age. The only people you talk to are your parents and I. You haven't tried to become friends with anyone since Lucas."
Oh great another thing to be mad about Jungkook thought to himself once he heard the name of his ex.
"I'm just trying to look out for you dude, I know you're bored of talking to me so I think you should at least give him a chance. You tell me to bring him into your room every day for some reason."
"I don't want to be friends with Taehyung or anyone, you know that. Now get lost."
I tried The butler told himself as he began to walk out of the room, closing the door behind him. He knew the Prince was pretty helpless, everyone knew he was helpless.
He just wished Jungkook would open up his personality again. Ever since Lucas and the death of his grandparents he had never been the same, everyone tried to help him with his constant anger but nothing ever worked. Everyone knew the only way he would be happy again would be to get his grandparents back, which was now impossible.

"I want to know Mom, Dad.. did I do something wrong? Why is everyone mad at me.. why can I never make friends?"
Taehyung longingly stared up at the stage. He knew his parents spirit was in that church, he could feel it which is why he preferred to come here rather than a cemetery.
"Jimin is nice to me, maybe he actually wants to be my friend. Do you think so?"
Silence.
"I also began playing basketball, well I can't anymore since Prince Jungkook doesn't let me go in there anymore since he's mad at me too." Taehyung shook off the water that was forming in his eyes. "But one time I hit the brim of the basket with the ball! I wish you were there to see it.. nobody saw it.."
A frown also formed onto the black haired males face, everything just seemed to keep going downhill. But none the less the boy shook the feeling off and forced a smile onto his face to say goodnight.
"Well I love you Mom and Dad and I will see you soon."
