Chapter 2; Solo/Accompany

Your P.O.V.

"(Y/n), you're going to be late." My Grandmother was standing next to me gently nudging my shoulder.

"Hmm?" I barely opened my eyes seeing my grandmother and the music room. "Dang it!" I shot up from the piano bench and ran to my room. 'How could I have fallen asleep while practicing?!' I quickly threw on my uniform and ran into the kitchen.

"Be careful (Y/n)! Have a nice day!" Grandmother waved to me as I ran out the door.

"I will. Love you Grandmother!" I waved and raced off to the train station. "Being late to school a week after school starts. Nice going (Y/n)." I sighed. I stood at the station watching as the other people walked by. I was going to be late if the train didn't show up in five minutes but luckily it did a few minutes after I arrived at the train station. As soon as the train stopped again I bolted out the doors and into the halls.

"(Y/n)? Are you okay?" Hagakure asked as I walked to my seat dripping with sweat and breathing heavily.

"Yeah. Fine." I huffed falling into my seat. "Just almost late." I waved her off and put my head on the desk.

"Did you eat breakfast?" Jirou asked setting her bag on the ground next to her chair. I shook my head.

"Really?! Come on (Y/n)." Hagakure flicked my head.

"Ow! Hey! I didn't have time to eat!" I sat up rubbing the back of my head.

"Idiot." She sighed.

"I'll just eat lunch later. It's not that big of a deal." I placed my arms on the table and put my head on them.

"Actually, (Y/n), how do you expect to play properly on an empty stomach." Hagakure smirked at me.

"Because I'm not like you. I don't run around the stage playing." I glanced down at her case.

"You should still eat something." She sighed.

"Hagakure's right. You should eat something, you never know what we're doing." Jirou took her side.

"Fine." I groaned.

"In your seats." Aizawa walked in glaring daggers at all of us.

"We're in trouble." Hagakure mumbled.

"Today someone else will be teaching you all." He gaze relaxed. "He'll be here soon so everyone shut up and stay quiet." He looked through some papers on his desk. A few minutes later a frail looking man opened the door and walked in.

"I am now here. I apologize for the wait." He stood at the front of the class and bowed.

"Yagi Toshinori!" I quietly squealed quickly covering my mouth hoping no one heard.

"As some of you may know, I am Yagi Toshinori. I am your classical accompany teacher." He explained scanning the class his eyes lingering on Midoriya, who was reacting almost identically to me, and my own. "Along with your registration forms you submitted a performance attire form. Please change into those and head to the auditorium." He adjusted his tie.

"Yes sir!" We said in unison and stood from our seats.

"Come on (Y/n)! We get to try our dresses!" Hagakure and Jirou grabbed my arms and pulled me to the locker room with them.

"I'm coming." I tripped over my own feet but the two girls pulled me back up. We walked into the girls' locker room and I found my locker containing my dress and shoes. I changed and smoothed it out taking a deep breath before closing my locker and turning to my friends.

I looked at everyone else's dresses. They all looked amazing.

"(Y/n) you look beautiful." Hagakure studied my dress.

"Thanks! You too." I laughed. "Wow Jirou, I didn't think you'd wear something like that." I gestured to the tight top and backless part of the dress.

"I like to look nice. Sometimes." She was a little quieter with the last part but I heard her.

"Oh? Trying to impress someone?" I cocked my eyebrow suggestively.

"What?! No!" She blushed slightly.

"Sure. That's why your face is so red." Hagakure pointed out.

"Well? Who is it?" I poked her forehead.

"I-it's...um...Kaminari!" She said a little too loud. I gasped more surprised than interested.

"Really?" I laughed. "I wasn't expecting that. I thought it'd be someone like Todoroki or Kirishima." I hooked my arms with the two girls and we walked out to the auditorium.

"Please don't tell anyone." She sighed.

"I won't. But maybe I can help you two get together." I nudged her side with my elbow.

"N-no way!" She nervously laughed. "I don't need a boyfriend." She waved me off.

"Ugh come on, Jirou. This is high school. Have some fun. Don't go through the whole year being single." I pulled on her arm.

"No, (L/n). Stop trying to get me to get a boyfriend." Her voice was stern.

"O-okay." I stuttered out not expecting her to be so demanding. We opened the auditorium doors and found our seats.

"Hey girls looking good." Kaminari and Kirishima sat in the row behind us.

"Hey Kami, thanks." I said not really paying attention.

"Thank you all for coming. Today will be a special class." Toshinori stood on the apron. "You will be doing cold plays. But also, performing a duet."

"Wha?!" The entire class was shocked.

"Sir! Might I ask how this is going to work?" Ida raised his hand.

"Yes, I understand your confusion. You will be assigned a partner by drawing lots and all given the same piece to perform. You are allowed to read over the music before performing but you will not be allowed to practice before hand." He gestured to a box on the stage.

"Are you sure that's the best way to assign partners?" Ida asked.

"Yes. This will test your limits not only as musicians, but as classmates. Test your working skills." He smirked at us. "Now draw your lots and find your partners. After that you will receive your pieces." We all stood and drew our partners. I read the name I had drawn and my heart sank. Not only was I a soloist but my partner was definitely a soloist.

"Are you (L/n)?" I could hear the annoyance in his voice.

"Y-yeah." I turned to see Bakugou not only wearing a suit, but also a tie.

"Let's just get our music and get on with this shit." He glared at me.

"Yeah. Okay." I ran up to the stage and took the paper from Toshinori thanking him and running back with our music.

"Chopin." He said glancing at the paper.

"Ballade No. 1, this should be easy." I sighed, knowing that this wasn't going to be as easy as it should.

"Just read over it and once we get up there, don't fuck it up." He said over his shoulder going back to his seat.

"Got it." I nodded and found a quiet place in the auditorium to read over. I sat the music in my lap and imagined the piano in front of me, imitating the notes and preparing for what was in store.

"First pairing, Midoriya and Uraraka." He called the two up and they played. I didn't bother listening because I didn't want the inevitability of Bakugou's wrath, but what I did catch was definitely beautiful. They finished just as I was starting over with the piece and I felt way too anxious than I should've. "Second pairing, Bakugou and (L/n)."

"What?!" I panicked slightly hearing my name.

"Get up here dumbass." Bakugou growled stepping on stage.

"Coming." I mumbled grabbing my music and running up the side stairs. I set my music up and turned to Bakugou, nodding. He glanced over his shoulder then back at the audience.

"Start." Toshinori said stepping off stage.

Right from the start I knew that I had to play perfectly or I wouldn't hear the end of it. I played most from muscle memory but kept my eye on the sheet music playing in almost perfect sync with Bakugou. Once again the pressure and feeling everyone's eyes on me raised my awareness. I glanced up at the violinist noticing how fluid his movements were. He looked calm for once. Content even. I was intimidate by him, yes, but right now, now he just looked like a little kid. It made me think of my first concert. I was four and marched out on that stage trembling but holding my head high. I laughed at the memory sensing Bakugou glare over his shoulder. My attention snapped back to the score and keys. As our piece came to a close, I stood and stepped forward with Bakugou bowing to the audience.

"That was awesome. You did great out there." I smiled at the angry blonde.

"Tch." He rolled his eyes.

"Why can't you just take one compliment?" I asked sounding more frustrated than I was.

"Next time, stay focused." He hissed returning to his seat, leaving me in the middle of the walkway. I scoffed in disbelief and walked to my seat.

"I'm sorry about him, he's always been like that." Midoriya turned in his seat a few isles down.

"It's fine. He's just an arrogant brat." I huffed sitting down.

"Next pairing, Todoroki and Shoji." Toshinori called up the next group.

"Can you believe that guy?" I scoffed resting my head in my hand.

"What was that even about?" Jirou asked glaring at the blonde.

"He's just...ugh!" I huffed and sank in my seat.

"I don't understand what that guys problem is." Hagakure sighed.

"He's not that bad of a guy once you get to know him." Kirishima defended him.

"Kiri, you're a cinnamon bun. You were able to tame that angry Pomeranian within a week. Of course you think he's not that bad of a guy." I didn't even look at him.

"Hate to say it but...she's not wrong." Kaminari pat Kirishima's shoulder.

"That wasn't very manly of you guys." He pouted and looked the other way. I sighed and shook my head. I felt someone poke my leg making me shiver at the sudden contact. I looked down and saw Mineta staring at Jirou, Hagakure, and I.

"Can I help you?" I ask with a slight look of disgust. He didn't say anything, just stared with some drool pooling out of the corner of his mouth.

"C'mon, quit harassing all the girls." Kirishima turned in his chair, propping and arm on his seat. With that the 1-A weirdo ran off.

"Thanks, Kiri." I sighed with relief.

"No problem. That guy's just really weird." He shook his head and sat back in his seat watching the other students perform.

A/N: Sorry this is kinda late. I've been behind on writing and re-thinking a lot. I hope you enjoyed. Have a good day/night, drink water, eat food, get sleep. You're amazing and I love you! Bye my lovelies!
