So, I ended up talking terms with Tamao. Well, I call her Maui. Essentially me and her decided to work things out between the two of us. There are plenty of depths among the school. There are monsters that not just bully but attack, kill, and in some cases eat other monsters around. Some keep to themselves and mean no harm. Where as some are blood thirsty. Some are a huge threat. And to Tamao being the leader of the Mermaids, she was really nervous. Fish are usually a bottom of the food chain. And there are always bigger fish. 

As far as Theobald goes, there are a few things going on. Him and Kei are starting to get a little closer. I fought for it and she will have her head cut off if Theo is harmed. But I really think they could be an amazing couple. It seems like an arranged married at first, but once he started all her Kiki I knew he was starting to come around. It starts as a pet name and then next thing you know there is a dance. And you know what they say. A dance today and a wedding tomorrow. 

I talked things over with Theo and a days later after all settling things in person, we have as follows. Theo and I are protecting the Mermaid society on campus. Off campus it is rather a gray area. If she is with me or Theo obviously that is on us. But if there is something out of our reach off campus then no. 

As for Maui and I? Well, after two dates if I will, started to get more comfortable and hit it off. It's not a big talk on campus topic. Just the way it should be. We casually started dating. Serious but we still aren't at that deep level yet. As for Theo and I, we were adjusting to the new lifestyle. And I didn't think I'd be into someone older either.

The last bell rang and it was club time. Mandatory clubs weren't always in a classroom or at a designated place. While your place to go was always the pool, there was caution among all of you. Some students and teachers did have time in the field. They weren't always tied to a classroom or room set for them. Some would shoot photos or see if others would answer a survey. There was always something. 

When an animal is on the bottom of the food chain, they hide. Rabbits have holes to avoid bigger prey such as fox. But what happens when a big fish is inserted in a tank full of small fish? Or when smaller bait fish get dropped into a carnivore fish tank? Doesn't look all to well. With that concept in mind you are keeper of the tank. There are most likely some predators in or around Yokai Academy that would love some Mermaid tail for late lunch. 

You and Theo got to the lounge at the pool. Kei greeted Theo with a hug and she held is hand so they could sit on the sofa for a movie. As for you and Tamao it was going to be a little different. She directed you to the top of the pool deck. 

She sat herself down at a table. "How you doing today Cory?"

"Not bad Maui. How about yourself?"

"I'm good. Just been thinking about you and how you and your friend are holding up. I know it is still a lifestyle change for both of you." Tamao and Kei still haven't moved on from the first time. No one did. But it was getting much easier. 

"Well if you have pet names for each other you aren't too far off right? I can go to him right now and break balls but I won't interrupt their movie. Just isn't right. Is there anything we have to attend to at the moment? Any predator or danger?"

"There are a few on my list, but it isn't a kill on sight. It is a keep distance and act accordingly in certain stages." Tamao had this setup for some time now.

"Avoid, shoo away, defend yourself, and then kill if need be?"

"Well, about that. Something around there. You get our intentions."

"Solid. Like me.""

"Though if there is one time I would break code it would be just one task. Then it would bring us safety for time to come because that means your skill own up to it."

"So you're telling me one job might literally put everyone at ease? Name it."
