Chapter 10
*First person pov*
Maybe.... Maybe I shouldn't have left home.... "HEY HEY!!! WHY AREN'T YOU SCREAMING NO MORE!?" My kidnapper yelled, then using his whip on me again. I feel it slice my flesh, burning pain covering that area. This guy has been torturing me for who knows how long... And he starts just now.... Maybe I shouldn't have even come to Death City in the first place... What was I thinking.... The guy keeps whipping me, laughing maniacally.
I... I don't belong here.... I... I miss everyone back home.... Heh.... home sick already, yet I've only been here for at least 6 days here now... "Hmph, it seems like you're all out of screams. It ain't helping my sadistic heart." My kidnapper said, then kicking me in the face causing me to fall over on my side. "I would like to kill you, but I still want to enjoy you as much as I can." the kidnapper said, a sick grin on his face. "I'll come back later~!" The kidnapper said, then walking out of the room laughing, closing the door. Somebody just save me....
*Maylin pov*
It's been two days since I gave Daichi the glasses case, and I'm pacing around in my room because it's around time that they can identify the fingerprints. The cops and DWMA teachers that are trying to find Mit themselves seemed to have trouble and have no leads, since I took the only thing that has leads. Too bad for them, they should have sent cops over there in heartbeat after Mit got kidnapped. "Dammit.... just call me already..." I muttered as I glared at the phone on my desk, taunting me. It's bull, it only takes 2 hours to identify a fingerprint.
What is Daichi doing, is he watching a really good anime or what!? A anime sounds good.... WAIT!! I GOT OTHER THINGS TO BE WORRYING ABOUT!! MIT!! My phone starts ringing and I immediately pressed answer. "DAICHI YOU SON OF A- DID YOU IDENTIFY THE FINGERPRINTS!? WHO THE HELL KIDNAPPED MIT!?" I yelled without hesitation, and the other end was silent for a moment. "Uh.... Maylin? What are you talking about?" Oh no.... I take my phone away from my face, and looked at the contact calling me. Shoot, Maka!
"O-Oh h-hey Maka.... W-What's shakin' bacon?" I asked, nervously laughing. "Uh... I was just calling to see if you wanted to hang out today? All three of us, you, Soul, and I." Maka asked. "Uh... Sorry Maka, maybe another time?" I asked. "Yeah, sure, that's fine. But... what's got your schedule occupied, hm?" Maka said, as if suggesting something.
"Jeez, what got you that idea Maka?" I asked, a light blush on my face because it may have been a suggestion of a boyfriend. "I'm just messing with you. But... I got a question... about what you yelled into the phone when you picked up..." Maka said, her voice soft. "Uh... I-I was rehearsing lines for a-a dorm play! Yes!" I said, and I heard someone snort in the background. "Idiot, there is no such thing as a dorm play." A new voice said, and I growled. "Shut up Soul, you're not a part of this." I hissed into the phone.
"Well, I clearly am, since Maka, at the beginning of the call, put it on speaker." Soul said, and I rolled my eyes. "Well... can you guys call later? I'm kinda busy..." I said, using this chance to get out of their interrogation. "Huh? Wai-" I pressed the end call button and let out a sigh. That was a close one... After I ended the call, my ringtone starts ringing again, signaling another call. THIS TIME, it's from Daichi. I clicked answer, and held it up to my face. "Who's the bastard that took Mit?" I asked, getting right to the point.
"Jeez, not a simple hello? Who taught you manners?" Daichi asked, and I walked to my window to just gaze out. "Well, if your friend's life is on the line, and this may be the only lead, how would you deal with this?" I asked as I watched some freshmen outside playing with the hose instead of watering the flowers. I'm a second year, by the way.
"Well, unlike you, I would be calm and try not to get anxious. Anyways, the suspect's name is Hibiki Hiroki, he lives about 4 miles from where your dorms are, 38 year old male, and his criminal record is, well, let's just say it won't be surprising that he would kidnap your friend and well, murder her." Daichi said like it was the normal thing in the world. "Oi, you're way to calm about this." I said, and I turned away from the window. "Well, I dealt with worse cases." Daichi mused, and I started grabbing supplies.
"What's his address?" I asked, and Daichi clicked his tongue. "Uh-uh! We're in this together, I'll come to you and well arrest this bastard together." Daichi said, and something tapped on my window. "Look, I'm outside." Daichi said, and I walked over to the window to see a pebble being thrown at it. I looked down to see Daichi standing there, tossing a pebble up in the air and catching it.
The freshman were fawning over Daichi, and I an see why, as he's the cutest 20 year old I've seen. But how Daichi knew where my dorm was and which side of the building my window was is beyond my comprehension.... and I don't want to know. "Alright then.... I'll be down. Are you ready?" I asked, making eye contact with him. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up.
"I'm ready, but the question is, are you?" Daichi said, and I rolled my eyes. "Dude, I go to DWMA, in EAT class, and a weapon. Is that even a question?" I asked, and Daichi shrugged his shoulder. "I'll take that as a yes. Hurry up and get down here, I'm sure your friend wants to be saved as soon as possible, am I right?" Daichi said and I left the window and went out the door, locking it behind me. "Of course.... I've told you about the mood necklace that Mit gave me, right?" I asked, and Daichi hummed as in yes. "Even without it, I can tell how she's feeling... Mit's sad... in pain... She's probably feeling that she should have never have came to Death City..." I said, clutching the necklace still around my neck.
I never took it off, not now not ever. I went down the stairs, waving to the dorm master. "Well, that's deep." Daichi said, and I walked outside of the dorms, clicking the end button. "Uh... hello? Hello?" I heard Daichi said into his phone, and I cleared my throat to let him know I'm right here. "You could at least warn me that you're gonna hang up, jeez." Daichi said, turning to me and I rolled my eyes. "Let's just go." I said, walking past him. "Right, right."
