You knew you had to wake up soon but since Severus was not awake yet, you decided to snuggle closer into his chest, inhaling his scent which sent warmth wrapped around your heart. You smiled, opening your eyes when Severus kissed your head, holding you close to him.
You hummed, looking him in the eyes as you were still a little bit drowsy from the sleep. Severus' heart melted, seeing the pure love in your eyes, as you gazed at him. He could not help but showered your face in kisses, causing a giggle to leave your kissable lips.
"Good morning, darling."
He greeted, claiming your lips with his in a short but passionate kiss. You smiled against his lips, blood rushed towards your face when you heard his voice. It was already so charming, but the sound of it early in the morning was something else, and you felt yourself shivered under his gaze.
"Did you sleep well?"
You asked, a timid smile was painted on your face. Severus nodded, grateful that you were there with him. He was used to messy sleeping schedule, and even if he had time to sleep, it was not a good one since it would be accompanied by unwanted nightmares. But since he fell in love with you, his mind was filled with the thoughts of you, including his sweet dreams.
"I love waking up next to you, Sev."
You admitted, kissing his nose playfully. You chuckled heartily, noticing what you did was causing him to scrunch his nose without him even realising it. People could try to convince you that he was just a scary Potions Master but he was so adorable in your eyes. No one could tell you otherwise.
"You mean it?"
Severus was flustered, as he never thought he would be a pleasant sight for someone to wake up to. But when you nodded vigorously, his heart swelled in joy, and he found himself smiling broadly at you.
"I mean every word. I love you."
You whispered, climbing on top of him and rested your head on his shoulder. Severus admired you for a moment, wrapping his arms around you to secure you on him. But then he realised the time, and he groaned in annoyance, alerting you that both of you were late.
"We're late, aren't we?"
"Yes, Minerva is going to have a good time teasing us about it."
Severus muttered, knowing that the older witch kept teasing them in every way she could. She loved to see how lovesick Severus was, even more when his face turned red every time Minerva talked about you.
"We have to get up now, Sev."
You said, but you made no effort to get off him. A deep chuckle erupted in his chest, and he ran his fingers through your hair lovingly.
"I can't get up if you don't, Y/N."
Severus watched, amused, as you jumped out of the bed lazily. A smile never dropped from his face, wishing that he could spend every morning for the rest of his life with you. He treasured a moment like this, when no one was around to witness the way he looked at you like you were his whole world.
His smile only widen when you shrieked, noticing how late both of you were.
"Get up, Professor Snape. We're going to be late!"

The teachers surely had a lot of fun teasing you and Severus that morning, especially Minerva. She took every chance she got to see how flustered Severus was, and deep within her heart, she was over the moon to know that Snape was finally happy.
You went on your day smoothly, some students fought during your first period of classes but it was nothing that you could not handle. You did not see Severus after breakfast, and now you were already finishing your final class for the day.
"Do you have any other question?"
You asked, astonished to see the students shaking their heads in unison. You knew they just wanted to leave the class as soon as possible, exhaustion was taking over them after a long day fulled of classes.
You dismissed your class, watching as their faces suddenly lightened up like they were not even tired at the first place. Shaking your head, you went to take your things, ready to go back to your office.
"Professor L/N?"
You turned around, a frown found its way on your face when you realised two students did not leave your classroom yet. You quickly replaced your frown with a smile, thinking that they had questions to ask about the lesson.
"Yes, what can I help you with?"
They looked at each other, as if they were hesitant to talk to you. It was odd because both of them were close with you, always handing in their work on time and answering questions in class. They never felt awkward talking to you.
"Miss Alderton, what is the matter?"
You turned to look at the Slytherin girl, who shared a look with her Ravenclaw friend, as if she was asking for help to talk to you. You gave them a warm smile, not wanting any of them to feel scared to tell you anything.
"Tell me, Miss Carter."
The girl chewed on her bottom lip, holding a book tightly against her chest. It was clear that she was contemplating to tell you about something, but when you gave her a nod, she knew it was the right thing to do.
"We want to tell you something. We do not know if we should tell you this but we care about you so we think we should."
Her words were rushed, and you swore you had never seen her being so nervous before. She was always calm in every situation, unlike Alderton, but it seemed like something was bothering her mind.
"Yesterday when we went to Hogsmeade, we saw Professor Snape."
She started, her heart was beating rapidly against her chest. She respected Snape as the Head of the Slytherin house, but she also cared about you, and she knew it was for the best if she tell you about this.
You tilted your head a bit, not knowing why would they tell you about it when it was common for them to bump into your soulmate at the village even if you were not going with him. Smiling, you shook your head in understatement.
"Yes, he was meeting Lucius Malfoy."
You told them, and you knitted your eyebrows together in confusion when they shook their heads. You had a bad feeling about this, but you wanted to hear what they were going to say.
"I'm sorry, Professor L/N. But when we saw him, he was not with Mr Malfoy."
Carter revealed, and your heart dropped to your stomach. Severus said he was meeting Lucius, and there was no way he would ever lie to you. But these girls were honest too, and you knew they were being truthful about everything they said.
"What do you mean?"
You did not know if you wanted to hear their answer, but you knew you had to. Perhaps it was nothing, and the students were just being overprotective of you but you forced a smile on your face.
"Professor Snape was with a woman. We had never seen her around before."
Your face dropped, and it did not go unnoticed by your students. Your silence was scaring them, afraid if you might not believe them and if you thought they were making up stories about your soulmate.
"A woman?"
Your voice was weak, almost afraid to say it out loud. They nodded, and you knew there was more than that, and your heart was not prepare to face it.
"I know you must think that it is ridiculous but we saw them! And we know we have to tell you because they were..."
The Ravenclaw student trailed off, turning her head to her friend. Alderton sucked in a deep breath and looked you in the eyes, wanting to spill the truth to you. They did not know what you were going to do next, but all they know was they just wanted to let you know about what they saw.
"They were kissing."
Your head pounded as you swallowed their words. Everything did not make sense to you but they did not seem like they were lying. Those girls loved you, and it was hard to believe that they could make up stories to hurt you and Severus.
Your heart bled as you let them leave, not knowing what to say to them. You felt dizzy, as the thought of Severus betraying your trust, seeing another woman behind your back was piercing your heart and soul.
Was is true that Severus was cheating on you?
You could not think straight as you walked out of your classroom, ignoring the students who sent you a smile. They could only wonder why would their friendly professor suddenly turned cold on that evening, not knowing how wrecked you were.
Your heart was heavy, and tears pricked in the corner of your eyes from the nerves and the anger but you refused to let your heart break. You convinced yourself that it was not true, that Severus would never hurt you. He promised you that he would not break your heart again.
Of course, he did hurt you before and you could still remember what he had done and said to you, but he was a good man. It was impossible for Severus to cheat on you. He was not the kind of man who would break your trust because of another woman. At least, that was how you knew your Severus Snape to be.
But still, as Remus called out your name in the halls, you did not hear him. Your mind was fogged with Severus that the world started to disappear around you. You did not know what to do, and what to say once you saw your soulmate.
You let your feet took you to your destination, your mind was not in the right place, until your colleague grabbed your wrist, concerned to see how unsettled you were. You looked at Remus, realising how apparent it must have been to others that something was bothering you.
"Are you alright, Y/N?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
You managed to get the words out, even if you just wanted to talk to him about what you had heard. You needed to talk to someone, wanting them to tell you that Severus did not lie to you, that he was loyal to your love. But you just shook your head, smiling at him.
Remus pressed his lips into a thin line, worry was clouding his mind upon seeing how anxious you were as you walked away from him. Perhaps he did not know you long enough, but he knew you well enough to discover that you were troubled. You did not seem to be sad or mad, and Remus did not know what was going on in your head.
Once you were back in your room, your heart soared, forgetting for awhile what you heard from your students when you saw Severus waiting for you. He opened his arms, and you could not help but smiled, letting him embrace you.
"I missed you, darling."
He mumbled, resting his chin on top of your head. His words would usually sooth you but now, it was tormenting you silently. You could not help but wonder if he talk to the woman as sweetly as he was talking to you. If it was true, then you were not special to him, you were just another woman in his life who vowed to love him eternally.
There was a plethora of feelings spiralling in your chest and you tried your hardest to mask it with a smile as you were with Severus. You did not want to make it obvious to him, as your heart was torn in between trusting him or believing the words of your students.
You wanted to enjoy every moment you had with him, until you knew what to do with the information you had about him. He was the best thing ever happened in your life. You loved him so much, and you could not afford to lose him after everything you had been through together.
You were brushing his hair, as it was something you had grown accustomed to now, saying that you just wanted to be close to him all the time. Severus used to pretend as if he hated it, but you knew he secretly loved it, as he would never stop you from doing it.
And now it gave you a chance to think about what you were going to do next, your heart sunk, as you knew if he really betrayed you, you were not going to stay with him. You were not going to live in his sweet lies anymore.
But you wished that your students were wrong, and Severus was still yours.
"I heard some students caused a problem in your class today. What happened?"
You asked, smiling softly even if he could not see you as his back was turned on you. Severus began to tell you about his day, and his words got into your ear only to leave through the other, as your head was wrapped around his affair.
You did not want to believe that Severus was being unfaithful to you.
He loved you, he told you almost every time he looked at you and it was breaking your heart to think that perhaps he never meant his sweet words towards you. Was it all just a play pretend so he could crush your heart in his hands?
You embraced your fear and sat next to him in the bed, resting your head on his shoulder. Severus instinctively wrapped an arm around you, and you almost winced as you thought that perhaps he was close to another woman like he did to you too.
Your heart clenched, thinking that your man was holding her in his arms just like how he was holding you. Clearing your throat, you decided to test the water.
"Do you have something to tell me, Severus?"
You tried, fiddling with your fingers nervously as you looked up at him. Severus was taken aback at your question, and he seemed to think for awhile before shaking his head at you, kissing your forehead and his lips lingered there, pulling you closer into his chest.
"I don't think so, darling."
You nodded with a smile, even if you still felt uneasy to see that he did not answer you right away, making you feel as if he really had something to hide from you. You let yourself melted into his arms, but your students' words were still running through your head, that they saw Severus with the other woman, ripping your heart out of your chest.
After all, loving him was the most exquisite form of self destruction. What hope did you ever have?
