{71 Comforting her (Yoongi POV)
71 comforting her
Yoongi POV
Bored, I tapped rhythmically with my fingers on the table, this must be the 6th meeting about the schedule for the upcoming tour. I hated schedule meetings, what was the point even if they were just going to send the schedule later. Besides staff was going to repeat them another bazillion times while on tour it was just a waste of your time. At least there was one plus these meetings were on a lower floor, so I was closer to her and her heartbeat had accompanied me the whole meeting. It felt so good to have a close, I was already dreading the moment I had to walk back up the stairs and her heartbeat would disappear. Ii just felt so calming, peaceful, like it belonged to be there.
The meeting continued for what seemed like forever, I didn't even know anymore what they were talking about so little had I been paying attention. They would send an email with all the important notes later anyway. Just when the meeting was coming to an end you felt something, Y/n her heart was beating faster with the second. I sat up straight in my chair and concentrated not on the meeting but her heartbeat. Something felt off, it wasn't just a fastened heartbeat from excitement or exercise, she was worried, stressed, scared even maybe. What was going on? Sneakily I pried my phone from my pocket and unlocked it, quietly I sent her a quick message asking what was going on. I stared at the screen waiting for her to reply but nothing happened. Sighing I put my phone back into my pocket, I shouldn't worry so much she is close by inside the BigHit building full with security there wasn't much that could happen here anyway. Still, I couldn't shake off the ominous feeling, I looked at my watch the meeting was supposed to be another half an hour. Maybe I should just check up on her afterward? No, No, I can't. What excuse could I possibly have to go down to the editor's floor?
I tried listening to the words that were being said but nothing else but her heartbeat in my chest was coming through. At this point it was beating so fast and loud I had to do a take around if no one was staring at me weirdly because surely they must hear it too. No one seemed to be paying attention to you though. This wasn't normal, I had never felt anything like this. Something was wrong... Again I got my phone from my pocket and sent her another message but she didn't respond. Why wasn't she responding? Uncomfortably I shifted in my chair, she was so close I could just, no... No.. I can't.
Namjoon had noticed me shifting restlessly in my chair and raised an eyebrow at me. I tried to hide how worried I was on the inside and forced myself to sit still, but it was slowly becoming impossible. Her heartbeat seemed to jump out of my chest at any moment. What was going on? Everything in me was yelling at me to go to her, but I couldn't. I just couldn't. My heart was going just as crazy as hers, it felt as if I was running a marathon while sitting in this meeting. I looked at my watch just 20 more minutes then the meeting was over. 20 more minutes was too much any second of this was too much. I couldn't take this anymore, abruptly I got up from my chair and all eyes suddenly were on me.
''I- I-,'' I stuttered, ''I have to go to the bathroom.''
It was a lame excuse and everyone knew that but I didn't wait for them to stop me and instead sped out the room. I didn't care anymore, this was just too much. I grabbed my chest with my hand and squeezed as if that was going to do anything. The walk to the stairs seemed to be longer than on other days and she seemed to be further away than ever. I wanted to do nothing else than to run down these stairs as fast as I could. With every step, her heart got stronger harder, faster and y body was screaming me to go faster but I forced myself to slow. As if I was walking down the stair-like any other day, I couldn't raise suspicion. Just when I turned the corner to the last set of stairs I heard a door bang on a floor below me, the editors floor, and hastened footsteps down the starts. With the sound her heartbeat made one more jump before slowly disappearing, it didn't slow down it just faded away. Until it was completely gone, for a second I was met with just silence before his emotions slammed into me like a bomb. I had to grab the railing to keep myself from falling down the stairs. Her emotion where all over the place, it didn't make any sense, but one thing was for sure something had gone terribly wrong. I didn't care anymore if anyone would find out about us and ran down the stairs as fast as I could.
''Y/n!'' A girl came rushing through the door at the editor's floor. ''Y/N, Where are you going?''
I looked at the girl and recognized her immediately, Eunmi. Y/N had told me about her and she had become really good friends.
''Eunmi?'' I asked carefully, she looked at me shocked, ''What happened?''
''Y- Y- Yoongi,'' She stammered, ''Sorry, I didn't see you.''
''What happened?'' I asked again more forcefully this time.
''I don't know,'' Eunmi shakingly said, ''The head editor asked her to come with her, but when I went to get a coffee I suddenly saw her speeding down the hallway. Wait... Why are you even here?''
Eunmi looked at me confused, I didn't know what to reply and in that moment of silence, we both could hear voices just outside the door in front of the elevator.
''It's a shame we'd had to let her go,'' A female voice empathically said, ''She was a really promising editor.''
''Well, I think it's better we picked this up when we did,'' A low male voice responded, ''If we would have let her get close to the boys, it could have been catastrophic.''
''I understand, sir,'' The female sounded apologetic, 'I should have noticed she was a Sasaeng during her job interview, I just thought her familiarity with BTS was a plus as she was already familiar with the all the member and the shows. I hoped in that way the training period would take up less time.''
We looked at each other, both completely aware of who they were talking about, Y/n. My mouth fell open they couldn't be serious y/n, a crazy fan, no way. Eunmi pointed towards the door and was about to say something but I shook my head and put my finger on my lips signaling her to stay quiet.
''The intentions were good, but you should be more careful of who you hire,'' The male voice said, ''there's one thing I don't understand though, my source clearly stated she was seen with an employee and even had pictured to collaborate.''
''Maybe she is just delusional,'' The female responded, ''I never expected her to say that Yoongi was her soulmate.''
''Me neither,'' The male voice answered, ''It does raise additional questions, I will go to the bottom of this.''
The ding of the elevator and the sliding doors signaled the arrival of the elevator which was just outside the door. Two pairs of footsteps enter the elevator and the door slid close. I sighed deeply, they were gone. What had I just heard?
''Is it true?'' Eunmi looks at me with wide eyes, ''Are you her soulmate?''
I looked at her in surprise, had we just overheard the same conversation? They had thought y/n had been a Sasaeng and she was asking me about the soulmate thing which they hadn't believed. Why did she believe it?
''Well, I mean,'' Eunmi stuttered embarrassed, ''I know her she isn't a Sasaeng and if she isn't why would she say that knowing it would immediately get her fired unless it's the truth.''
I looked at her loss at words if I would tell her it's the truth I would have no certainty she would keep the secret if I would deny she might reconsider the Sasaeng thing.
''I- I--'' I stuttered loss of words everything had gone so fast. Just minutes ago I had been in a boring meeting and now.... What had the CEO even been talking about when he said she had been seen with an employee? What was going on? Everything was just so confusing and that her sea of emotion was still crashing inside of me didn't help, I needed to talk to her first.
''I- I need to find her.'' I looked at Eunmi who looked at me confused before I dashed down the stairs. If it was true and they had fired her she must be devasted an emotional mess. She wasn't just going to take the subway home, that's for sure. Chances were she just escaped the building and couldn't have gone far. Maybe I could find her. I ran toward the exit of the building stealing the hat of the perplexed security guard and barely escaping the other one while running out. For a moment I thought they were going to follow me and stop me but they didn't.
Outside the building I turned right it was just a guess, she might as well have turned left but I had to start somewhere. While running through the street I took my phone from my pocket and dialed her phone, but to no avail, she didn't pick up. I kept searching for running along the roads and calling her phone until I was exhausted. Breathing hard I leaned on my knees, she had to be here somewhere. I could still feel all of her emotions the overwhelming wave had mostly passed but still, she was all over the place, anger, sadness, confusion, worry, etc. I was worried she would so out of it something would happen to her. After I caught my breath I continued down the road again, she had to be here somewhere. When you turned another corner you stopped dead in your tracks, even though I wasn't able to feel her heartbeat just yet, the emotion seemed to have subdued. I took a few steps forward but the emotion slowly turned louder inside of me, Instead I walked to the right and ever so slightly I felt it, her heartbeat. Y/N, I thought and started running again. The heartbeat got strong with the second she was close, but where?! I looked in every corner every street, where was she! Her heartbeat was now so strong it again felt like it was going to explode in my chest, she must be here somewhere. I turned another corner and there at the side of the street a girl, huddled up against the wall, hugging her knees tightly to her chest. Her face was hidden between her knees but I would recognize her everywhere.
''Y/N?!'' I yelled out for her but she didn't respond, as fast as my feet took me I ran to her.
''Y/N!/'' I yelled again, It was stupid calling out for her like that but I couldn't help it. She needed to hear me, I need her to hear me.
When I reached I wanted to nothing more than to throw my arms around him but I didn't want to scare her, she hadn't responded in any way and was still huddled at the side of the street. I crouched down beside her.
''Y/N?'' I softly asked but she didn't respond. She was quiet, there wasn't a sound I couldn't even hear her breath. Quickly I sent a message to my driver along with my location, she couldn't stay here in the street, moreover, I couldn't stay here in the street. If anyone found out who I was it wasn't just BigHit who had found out about our relationship. I put my phone in my pocket and carefully wrapped my arms around her and softly pulled her a little closer.
''Y/n?'' I whispered in her ear, ''Are you alright?''
She let out a choked as an answer and I hugged a tightly trying to comfort her.
''They- they-,'' Her voice sounded broken, ''They found out.''
''I know,'' I sighed, there were so many questions going through my mind about everything that I had overheard, but she wasn't in any state to talk, ''Come here.''
She shifted slowly putting her arms around my neck and her turning his body towards, me all the while making sure her head was down.
''Aren't you mad?'' She asked barely hearable.
I shook my head, ''It was bound to happen one day or another.''
I felt a lot of things but anger wasn't one of them, mostly I was confused. The Ceo had said a lot of things, but I didn't understand a thing and before I was going to draw any conclusion I was going to get the whole story. Gently I stroke her back to ensure her I wasn't going anywhere that I was going to be here for her no matter what.
''It's going to be alright,'' I whispered to her, ''We'll figure something out.''
I felt how she hugged me a little tighter snuggling against me, softly I pressed my lips against the side of her head that was facing me. Her breath slowed down a little bit and she seemed to relax a little bit in my arms. Her knees where no longer pressed again her chest.
''How did you find me?'' Her voice sounded weak and a little hoarse it was obvious she had been crying.
''I followed you heartbeat,'' I replied and gave her another kiss o reassure her.
''What? How?'' She looked up at me surprised, her tearstained face was beautiful. She would always be beautiful through my eyes,
''I knew you wouldn't have gone far I just walked around until I felt your heartbeat, ''I pulled a little closer, as close as it was physically possible, ''I just followed the path were it became stronger and found you huddled in the street.''
''I'm sorry,'' She softly spoke, I knew she wasn't just saying sorry for running away but for everything that happened today. It wasn't her fault, she didn't need to say sorry.
''It's alright, you don't have to say sorry,'' I whispered back and held her close to me, ''But Y/N, we have to go, we can't stay in the street like this.''
''Y/n?'' I asked and tried to unwrap her arm so we could stand up but immediately wrapped it around me tightly again, ''Come on, we have to go.''
This was no use, instead of trying to get her to let go of me, I lifted her off the ground standing up myself. I could hear a car turning into the street, a familiar black car. She shifted and looked at the car with a scared look on her face as if she was caught again.
''Don't worry,'' I said, ''It's my driver I called him here.''
I opened the door for her and carefully placed her down in the car and sat down next to her. The driver curiously looked at me then at her and then at me again, I nodded to the driver knowing he would understand who she was and where to go. He had been to her house many times before. When I looked back at her she looked at me with big round confused eyes and a tear-stained face. I put an arm around her and pulled her close, she leaned against me and closed her eyes.
During the car ride, I thought about what the CEO had said about her being seen with another employee, had he meant romantically? There wasn't a bone in my body that believed that there was just no way she would ever do something like that. Besides, I was aware of her emotion when away from each other she surely couldn't hide something like that to me. I would have none, it must be a mistake, misunderstanding a set-up? I felt my phone buzz inside my pocket and looked at the screen it was Namjoon, of course, they would be worried. I had run out of a meeting after he already had caught me shuffling uncomfortably in my seat. He knew something was up and as much as I wanted to go home with her and talk to her. I needed to go back first. The car stopped in front of her house and I got out with her.
''Does he know?'' She said bluntly.
''Yeah,'' I answered surprised, she sounded so aggressive, ''He has known for a while, he figured it out about a month ago.''
''Oh,'' She looked taken aback. Why had she sounded so aggressive? Then it hit me, she doesn't know. The CEO said he thought she was seen with an employee, she didn't know he hadn't been talking about me. She doesn't know what happened. I need to find out what happened and figure this thing out.
''I don't think it was him,'' I grabbed her hand, ''I know we have a lot to talk about, but I have to figure out what happened first. Go inside, I'll come back tonight when I know more and we'll figure everything out okay?''
She slowly nodded still confused. I will tell you everything I know but I just want to make sure I have the right information first.
''I'll see you tonight then,'' I gave one last hug before getting back in the car. My phone buzzed again I looked at the screen and narrowed my eyes when I saw that it was the CEO himself. While answering the call I watched y/N slowly put her keys in the lock.
''Yoongi!'' It sounded from the other end of the line, ''I need you in my office right now.''
''I'm on my way sir,'' I answered and hung up the phone, sighing I watched Y/n take one glance back before closing the door behind her.
''Where to sir?'' Mr. Choi asked glad he knew when not to ask questions.
