Hongjoong's Pov
"Ah, hyungs? How long have you been standing here?"
Hongjoong spun around at the voice, his gaze landing on Jongho, who seemed slightly out of breath.
"I thought you guys would've been inside by the time I got here, as my class is farther than yours," the youngest hummed, readjusting his bag on his shoulder.
A scoff from next to Hongjoong redirected Jongho's attention to Mingi. "Yea, Joong-hyung kinda freaked out a little," he smiled. "Says his soulmate might be in there."
The eldest huffed, rolling his eyes. "I did not freak out.."he countered, turning back to the door, ignoring his friends' playful teasing. Taking one last deep breath, the eldest knocked on the door, putting an end to the teasing.
"See? Not freaked.." Hongjoong mumbled, though as his roommate opened the door with a wide smile, loudly greeting them all, the teal haired male knew his friends didn't miss his slightly shaking hands.
"Joong-ah, Mingi-ah!! You guys made it!" the ravenet smiled, allowing the boys inside the dance room.
"Hey, Youngie. I hope we're not late," the elder smiled, waving to his roommate. "Also, this is Jongho."
Wooyoung smiled at everyone, glancing at the youngest. "Ahh, it's nice to finally meet you, Choi Jongho. I've heard a lot about you." he hummed, bowing at the male.
The auburn haired boy smiled, bowing back. "All good things, I hope.."
"Jjongie! You came!" A force of brunnet hair wooshed past Wooyoung, Hongjoong and Mingi, practically knocking the youngest male over in a hug. Hongjoong heard a giggle come from where Wooyoung stood, but paid more attention to the other people now looking at the group. More specifically, he was paying attention to the fact that 2 of them started walking over.
One, a giant blond male, almost as tall as Mingi. Hongjoong figured they might actually be the same height. The shorter noticed the shades of color in the giant's hair, complimenting his skin tones perfectly.
The other caught Hongjoong's eye a bit more. He was slightly shorter than the giant, but still taller than Hongjoong. The man wore thin framed glasses, rounding out his facial features with an elegant look. His hair, ash grey, flipped to one side and showing off the perfect undercut.
This guy was in one of Hongjoong's classes. He recognized him, but he didn't know his name. 'Park Something?' Maybe. He didn't know.
"Ahh, you guys must be Wooyoung-ssi and Yeosang-ssi's friends! Welcome!" The giant spoke, bowing his head to the newcomers. Turning with a smile to Jongho, he hummed. "Glad you could make it, Roomie."
The two blue haired men bowed politely back, Hongjoong mumbling thank yous.
The shortest felt a light hand rub his shoulder, and before he freaked out about someone touching him, he realized it was Mingi, trying to comfort him. He smiled, albeit only a slight bit, and took a deep breath.
"Thank you, for allowing us to come meet some of Wooyoung-ssi and Yeosang-ssi's friends!" The teal haired boy hummed, holding out a hand to shake the others. "My name is Hongjoong, and this is Mingi."
"It is very lovely to meet you... Hongjoong," the shorter of the two hummed softly, smiling. Hongjoong would be lying if he said he didn't notice how long the guy glanced at him before looking away.
"Yah, where are my manners?" the eldest giggled, it was a soft sound. "My name is Seonghwa, and this is Yunho. Captain of the dance team, and Captain-to-be!"
Hongjoong smiled, watching Mingi thrive at meeting new people.
"You're the captain?? You should show us some moves!" The blue haired male beamed, his shorter teal haired friend chuckling at his excitedness.
"Ooh, can we, Hwa?? Please!!" The youngest of the dancers begged, bounding over to his captain. "Can we do Answer?? Joong-hyung was asking about it last night! Pleasepleasepleaseplease!!"
Seonghwa chuckled, and as soon as he nodded, Yunho was gathering everyone to show the dance. The eldest smiled. "I hope you guys like it," he hummed, subtly winking at Hongjoong before walking away.
The shortest male blinked, almost thinking he'd imagined the action of the elder.
"Uhm, Hyung, I think he knows already.." he heard Mingi voice, which meant he hadn't imagined the action.
"Wait, I thought we weren't supposed to tell anyone we were AteenagerZ..?" the youngest tilted his head, looking very confused. "But they're dancing to Answer?"
Yeosang hummed from the side, poking his friend lightly. "Says you, who told Yunho-hyung," he smiled.
Hongjoong turned to look at Jongho, an eyebrow raised. "You told someone?"
"I only said they should listen to the group, I didn't say who the group was!" the auburn haired male raised his hands in surrender.
A calming hum came from the brunet, his features holding a small smile. "Well, Hwa-hyung said his soulmate said they were apart of the group. He wants to dance to more songs because of that."
"Wait, when did he-"
"It's not me, my soulmate's an artist, and a good one at that." Jongho hummed, cutting off Hongjoong's question unintentionally. The elder did not miss the way Yeosang's face turned a light shade of pink.
Mingi shrugged. "Mine's never mentioned my lyrics, though they're better at remembering my own stuff than I am.." he smiled.
3 sets of eyes were on the eldest, and if Hongjoong didn't know any better, he'd say Yeosang had a.. knowing look on his face.
The elder sighed, glancing at the dancers, then back to the brunet. "He knows, doesn't he..?" he watched as Yeosang nodded his head, and took a deep breath.
"He figured it out last night, saw you writing in the class you share," the male hummed. "I wouldn't tell him your name though, told him to give you space and time."
"Damn it.." Hongjoong sighed, leaning against the wall and sliding down to sit. Watching the dancers, he couldn't lie, they did a really good job coming up with moves to fit the song.
"Hyung? You okay?" Mingi hummed, sitting next to Hongjoong. The taller placed his hand on the shorter's shoulder, an invitation incase he wanted comfort.
"Ah, yea, I'm fine," the elder smiled at his friends, then glanced at Yeosang. "I, er.. I don't want him to know.. like, that I know.. for now, at least.." Sighing at the confused faces from the other three, he continued. "I just, wanna get to know him first.. okay?"
The artist smiled softly, nodding in understandment. "Alright, he's really nice and funny, I promise that much."
A soft clap sounded from beside Yeosang, and the three looked at Jongho. "Well, now that's sorted, I think they finished." the youngest smiled, pointing to the dance group who, indeed, just finished dancing.
Hongjoong watched as the group of 3 walked back over to the 4, glancing at the eldest as he highfived everyone. The biggest smile adorned his face, turning his eyes behind the round frames into small crescents. The shorter couldn't help but smile slighty. It seemed contagious around the elder.
"Wow, that was amazing!! You guys are really good!" Mingi beamed, clapping at the performance.
The tall blond giggled, bowing playfully. "Why, thank you, Mingi-ssi!"
As the group started to conversate, Hongjoong smiled, sitting back to watch. He didn't really join in on the conversation too much, only when he was directly spoken to, but it was nice.
At some point, somebody had mentioned that Hongjoong and Mingi used to do dance classes together, and the two were ushered up to show them.
"No, heh.. i-it's been so long-" the elder stated, glancing at the taller with flushed cheeks.
"Ah, cmon, Joongie! It'll be fun!" the blue haired mle smiled, leaning into his hyung, whispering quietly. "Remember the dance we put to Halazia? Let's do that one!"
Hongjoong stared at his friend, bewildered. "Min- that one was really hard-! You expected me to remember that one??"
"Ah, you'll remember once you hear it." the younger smiled, ruffling his friend's hair again once his beanie was off.
Grumbling, Hongjoong huffed, defeated. 'At least he didn't choose Deja Vu..' Turning towards the captain, he smiled politely. "May I use the speakers? For a song?"
Seonghwa perked up when the shortest spoke to him, nodding quickly. "Ah, yes of course!"
After everything was set up, the 2 blue haired males stood in the middle of the room, Mingi giving Hongjoong a thumbs up through the mirror. The music started, and Hongjoong took a deep breath before he and Mingi started.
Getting into the beat, he seemed to forget everything around him. His teal hair bouncing in front of his eyes as the two gluided across the floor. Hongjoong had missed the first few steps, but after getting into the groove, and watching Mingi every so often, he started to remember.
The 2 didn't notice how there were 2 particular sets of eyes on them, as they continued dancing. As they hit the middle of the song, both males rolled up their sleeves due to the heat. The chorus came and went both times, Hongjoong closing his eyes as he got even more into the music.
The elder glanced at his friend as the dance break came up, both nodding to each other that they remembered what to do. The song had a fast paced beat, and neither male missed a single one.
Pants of air filled the room as the two finally came to a stop, standing still in their ending poses and breathing heavily. Hongjoong glanced at Mingi with a smile, his grin only growing when they made eye contact.
"Holy shit... Hyung, you did it!" the taller beamed and walked over to the shorter, wrapping him in a bone crushing hug.
Hongjoong squeaked, chuckling brokenly. "Mingi-ah.. I can't breathe..." he rasped out, smiling when his giant friend let go.
The sound of clapping and cheering broke the two out of their own little world, Hongjoong's face flushing as they looked towards the group of 5 cheering for them.
"Oh my gosh! Hyung, I didn't know you danced!" a squeal came from the teal haired male's roommate. "You should've joined the dance team! Both of you, you're really good!"
Hongjoong chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Ah, n-no.. I'm too shy for that, Youngie.."
"He didn't lie, though.. That was, really really amazing. I don't even think I could've come up with a routine like that!" The ash haired captain smiled.
"Oh, I doubt that.. heh, Gigi an' I- w-we only took a couple classes in m-middle school.." the teal haired male's gaze turning towards the ground.
Glancing around, the youngest of the group perked up. "Speaking of Mingi-hyung, where'd he go??"
Yeosang perked up next, "And where's Yunho-hyung?"
