Chapter 19
Piper's POV
I sighed as I subconsciously rubbed my tattoos.
Katie and Travis, Silena and Beckendorf, all these other soon to be couples, to be honest, make me a little jealous.
I've always wanted that. To be loved, to have someone to love, the moment when you find your soulmate, the works.
Call me a little selfish but I've never really wanted much. My dad was rich but I never took that to my advantage.
But when I like someone, I know they're probably not going to like me back.
I'm not as pretty as those models, pretty useless, kind of rebellious, the list goes on.
So what would anyone see in me?
"Piper?" a voice said softly. "Are you okay?"
I looked up and saw Hazel smiling warmly at me.
I rubbed my eyes. "What happened?"
Hazel shrugged. "You just zoned out for a bit. You okay?"
I gave her a fake smile. "Yea, I'm fine."
I could tell she didn't believe me but decided not to press.
The bell rang. "Okay students make sure to finish your homework by Monday. Have an nice weekend!"
I ran to catch up with Hazel. "It's already Friday?"
She nodded. "We have one last class. I gotta go to art. See you later!" she gave me a small wave and left.
I dragged my feet to my next class, Theatre Tech.
Once I got in the room, I picked a random chair and slumped into my seat.
"Piper?"
I looked up and saw Jason looking at me.
I was so tired at the moment I kind of forgot that it was Jason who was talking to me.
I groaned and sat up. "Yeah. What do you want?"
He looked a little taken aback of my response. "I-uh didn't realize you were in this class."
I yawned and shrugged. "Just transferred from Home Ec. I don't know why I was in that class but..."
"Mind if I sit here?" Jason asked pointing to the seat next to me.
I leaned back. "Sure."
Then, Mr.Apollo came into view. "Hello everyone and welcome to whatever this class is! So today we're going to do something I haven't figured out yet so do whatever you want for the time being."
While Mr.Apollo looked through this desk, everyone started conversing with one another.
"Piper, are you okay? You look a little tired."
I yawned. "Yeah. A little bit."
I subconsciously leaned on the person next to me and started to drift off to sleep.
And don't get on to me for sleeping in class because Mr.Apollo said to do whatever.
"Wake me up when we have to do something." I told whoever I was leaning on.
Before I fell asleep I turned my head and saw who I was leaning on.
I saw blue eyes and blonde haired boy with tinted red cheeks.
It was Leo.
Ha. Ha. Just kidding. That would make no sense.
It was Jason.
Hazel's POV
"Piper how you feeling?"
Piper looked at me and sighed. "You would not believe how my day ended."
I tilted my head and she began telling me what happened in her Theatre Tech class.
I smiled. "Jason must've been so confused when you acted like that."
Piper nudged me playfully. "Oh shut up. How would you feel if that happened to you with Frank?"
"Huh?"
Piper smiled. "Because you like him..?"
I blushed. "W-what?"
Piper put her arm around me as we walked. "Don't lie. Embrace your love like I did and admit your crush on Frank."
I was beet red. "I mean, I guess I do like Frank."
Piper gasped and started grinning like a mad man. "That worked?! I cannot believe you actually admitted it!" she started rambling before she realized something. "I have to tell Silena something. I'll meet you outside in like, 10 minutes!"
Then she ran back into the school looking for Silena.
I sat outside on a bench waiting for Piper. I knew I couldn't talk to Annabeth because Percy begged her to come and watch him practice. And Thalia was doing who knows what.
And while Katie is hanging out with Travis, Rachel is starting to hang out with Connor.
"S'up Hazel."
I looked up and saw Leo posing in front of me.
"Hey Sa-uh, I mean Leo." Oops. I almost slipped up.
He coughed. "Ahem."
"Are you okay? Sick?"
He groaned. "Hazel! I'm being sarcastic. I was going to tell you that you didn't say my name right! It's Super McShizzle Bad Boy Supreme! The next thing your going to tell me that you don't know what chicken nuggets are!"
"Uh..."
He threw his hands up in frustration.
"Meet me by the lockers on Monday. I need to teach you some modern stuff Miss.40's."
Before I could object, he left.
I checked the time. 5 more minutes till Piper came.
"Hey Hazel."
I turned around slightly annoyed but then I saw Frank.
"H-hey Frank."
"What are you doing here by yourself?"
I pursed my lips. "I'm waiting for Piper. She had to go and tell Silena something."
"Oh okay."
I stared at my feet. "So."
"Uh, ready to present our project on Monday?"
I shrugged. "I think we're pretty prepared. And our presentation is pretty good."
"You wanna go over it Monday morning before school?"
I smiled. "Sure. Maybe we ca-" I stopped and frowned.
Frank looked at me and gave me a questionable look.
I sighed. "I think I'm actually meeting Leo in the morning on Monday. I'm not sure."
Frank shifted his feet. "You're not sure?"
"Uh, I think I am, but I'm not totally sure. He wasn't really clear. I'm sorry."
Frank looked sadder then he should've been and a little mad too.
"Uh, ok. Bye."
Once he left I groaned.
"You okay Hazel?"
I looked at Piper and sighed. "Something happened between Frank and I."
I told her what happened.
Piper chuckled. "I know it's not a good situation, but isn't it a coincident that both you and I are having trouble in paradise?"
I smiled. "Yup."
Piper looked longingly over my shoulder, which I later found out that Jason was behind me talking to Frank, before shaking her head and pulled my arm.
"Let's go home and do some homework!"
I gasped. "Since when do you want to do homework?"
She rolled her eyes and pouted. "I'm a good girl."
We both looked at each other and burst out laughing.
