Chapter 15

Jason's POV
"Is little Jacey Wacey scared?"

I groaned. "Stop teasing Percy."

"Not until you man up and go."

I didn't know why I was nervous to go and study with Piper but Percy was not making the situation better.

I mean I guess I know the reason but that's besides the point.

"Perce, just shut up. We said we would meet outside the school."

"Well she's over there with Annabeth." he pointed to, gasp, Piper who was with Annabeth.

"Okay so I'm going to go hide in that bush over there and spy on you guys. See ya!"

I was about to curse under my breath but Piper and Annabeth came over. "Hey Jason."

"Oh hey Piper. Uh, Annabeth. So you ready to go?"

"Uh, yea. I'm ready."

I saw Annabeth giving weird signals to a bush nearby. "I-Uh, I gotta go. Bye Pipes. See ya later Jason."

When she was walking past me she gave me a look.

I shivered.

Piper glanced at Annabeth before saying, "Okay let's go."

We were walking to my car when I heard someone say my name. "Jason?"

I turned around. "R-reyna? What are you doing here?"

She raised a brow. I've been parking my car here since freshman year. And so have you."

I scratched the back of my neck. "Yeah, I-uh realized that."

"So, how've you been? We haven't talked to each other since, uh, well, a while now."

"Yea. Maybe we can catch up sometime?"

She smiled. "Yeah. I'd like that." Then she looked at Piper.

"Who's that?"

I looked at Piper who looked a little uncomfortable. "Uh, this is Piper. We were gonna go study."

Reyna raised a brow and gave Piper a sympathetic look.

"Well I gotta go. It was nice seeing you again Jason. And meeting you Piper."

I waved and she left.

"So who's that?" Piper asked as we got into the car.

"Oh uh, that's Reyna. We were best friends and we're pretty close when we were younger. But we kinda drifted apart because- uh..."

Piper played with her fingers. "Uh, it's fine let's go."

I took a deep breath. "Yea. Let's go."

Annabeth's POV
"Please Annie!"

I rolled my eyes. "Pipes, all you have to do is go outside and meet Jason."

She pouted. "Please Annabeth?"

I smiled. "Fine let's go."

We were walking out of the building when I saw Jason talking to someone.

I turned to Pipes and pointed to him. "There's Jason. Come on Pipes."

Jason looked like he was about to say something but Piper spoke. "Hey Jason."

Jason looked up at us. "Oh hey Piper. Uh, Annabeth. So you ready to go?"

"Uh, yea. I'm ready."

"Pst! Pst! Annabeth over here!"

I turned my head to follow the voice and led me to a bush.

Then Percy's head popped up.

"Oh my gods Percy what are you doing there!" I whisper shouted.

He ushered me over.

I kept telling him no but he dramatically begged me to come.

Okay I guess I'm going to go talk to a bush. "I-Uh, I gotta go. Bye Pipes. See ya later Jason."

When I was walking past Jason I gave him a look and he shivered.

As I walked towards the bush I felt a hand pull me aside.

I was getting ready to judo flip someone but my captor shushed me.

"Annabeth don't scream. You're gonna draw attention."

I glared. "Says the person who tried to kidnap me."

Said person put his hands up in surrender. "I'm not trying to kidnap you. I'm gonna tell you some top secret information that you can not tell anyone."

I rolled my eyes. "And what would that be Percy?"

He whispered in my ear. "I'm on a top secret mission and I need your help."

I shivered when he whispered in my ear
and smacked him on the head.

"Ow!"

"Shut up. Are you seriously joking right now?"

He shook his head. "No. I need help trying to spy on Jason and Piper's study date."

I raised a brow. "Why do you want to spy on them?"

"To make sure there is no funny business. And to tease Jason about this later."

I must have given him a questioning look because he started talking again. "Before you say no, if we do this we can get to know each other for the thingie and you can spy on Piper to tease."

I sighed. I did want to be able to tease Piper. "Okay fine. But just for the record, if anyone asks, I was never with you spying on Jason and Piper."

He held his hand out. "Deal."

I slapped his hand away. "Come on let's go."

He grabbed my hand and started walking into the parking lot.

"Uh, Percy? Where are we going?"

"Well we have to follow them somehow right? Their going to Jason's apartment and I happen to live close. And we're going to take my baby, Blackjack."

He revealed a dark, beautiful black car with hints of blue.

I smiled. "Blackjack? You named your car?"

He tilted his head in confusion. "You don't?"

"I-uh.."

He gave me a lopsided grin. "Annabeth I'm joking." I sighed in relief. "Everyone obviously names their cars."

I rolled my eyes and got into the car. "Okay so you live close by?"

He started the car and began to drive. "Yup, the 'Big Three'," he said while using one hand to make quotation marks. "made all of our families live in the same apartment-er, more of a loft thingie."

I just nodded, knowing what he meant by 'Big Three'. Thalia and Hazel explained to me that their dads, along with Percy's who I didn't know at the time, are all brothers who own 3 major companies.

We sat in a comfortable silence until we arrived.

When we got out of the car Percy cursed under his breath.

"Uh, I have to get something at my apartment so we have to stop by there first. But Jason's is basically next door so we can stay at mine for a bit."

I shrugged. "Sure."

When we walked into the building and through the hallway, sure enough when we arrived at Percy's apartment I could see Thalia's apartment a few doors down.

Percy opened the door. "Mom I'm home!"

Someone, I'm guessing his mom, called, "Honey I'm in the kitchen!"

Percy motioned me to come into the kitchen. "Hey mom."

Said person turned around. "Oh hello. I didn't know Percy was bringing a friend. I'm Sally, Percy's mother."

I smiled. "I'm Annabeth. Percy and I are working on a project."

Percy opened the refrigerator and took a coke. "Actually we were planning on spying on Jason's date."

I was about to say something about Percy's idiocy but Sally just smiled.

"Well I wouldn't want to keep you. It was nice meeting you Annabeth. Tell me if something interesting happens. And no funny business Percy."

Both of us blushed. "Mom we're gonna go upstairs."

She waved and got back to cooking.

We entered a room and the first thing I could think of was: blue.

I blinked. "Woah."

Percy sighed. "Yeah, it's a bit blue."

I snorted. "A bit?"

His room was pretty big. It had a bed in the corner and a desk and a drawer next to it. The walls were navy blue and most of the sheets were blue.

The walls had some pictures; there was one of what I'm assuming was younger Percy and a younger Rachel and Grover. Another one was with him and a girl with dark hair and a bow and arrow.

There were many pictures of him at the beach.

I laughed. "What's this picture?"

When Percy saw what I was looking at he turned red. "I-uh nothing!"

"Why do you have seaweed all over your head?"

"Uh..."

I grinned. "You are such a Seaweed Brain."

He protested. "I could say the same to you uh-" he couldn't comes up with anything. "Uh, Wise Girl!"

I burst out laughing. "That was the best you could come up with?"

He blushed and mumbled into his pillow. "Shut up Wise Girl."

I smiled and chuckled. "Seaweed Brain."
