"Mommy, why can't I see colours?"

There it was. The question every parent would face one day. But Clarie never expected her innocent, little girl to ask her when she was five, especially at this time.

Clarie stopped cutting the red peppers for the dinner she was going to make and looked down to her daughter who was standing in front of her with puffy, sleepy eyes.

The mother always thought of a beautiful blue ocean whenever she looked into her daughters eyes.

Ocean blue was the perfect description, yet still not enough.

Clarie's heart ached as she noticed how tight her daughter was hugging her favourite stuffed animal, a grey wolf. The one she had since birth, a present from her dad.

She gave the little one a weak, yet reassuring smile, walked up to the girl and lifted her up with ease.

She carried the girl into their living room, carefully letting her down onto the black couch, before covering her with a soft blanket to keep her warm.

The woman lied down next to the little girl, who immediately snuggled up to her, the wolf still in her tiny arms.

"Have I ever told you anything about soulmates, Georgia?", Clarie asked her child, well aware that she has never mentioned it.

"What's a soulmate, mommy?", the little one asked clueless and innocent.

"Well it's like a best friend, but more. It's that one person that knows you better than anyone else does. Someone who makes you a better person, who makes you happier."

"Like Felix?", the younger one asked, instantly thinking of her best friend; Lee Felix.

They've been friends since she was a little baby. They did everything together, they were inseparable.

When she moved, he moved. When she smiled, he smiled. When she cried, he cried.

Clarie chuckled: "Almost. Your soulmate is someone you want to protect with your whole life, no matter what. You want to be there for him and love him."

"Love?", Georgia asked her mother surprised, but not in a disgusted way.
Unlike children her age, she had always been amazed about the thought of love.

That's a thing Georgia and her mother had in common. Clarie was a hopeless romantic and was so fascinated about soulmates that she studied everything about them.

She knows way more than normal people know and Clarie wanted to share her knowledge with Georgia, once she's older.

Clarie smiled broadly: "Yes sweetie."

"I want to have a soulmate!"
Georgia pouted, making her mother giggle.

"Honey you have one!"

The little one's eyes widened: "Really?"

"Of course! Everyone has one main soulmate and every time you have eye contact with that person, you'll see colours", she explained, remembering how she met her husband 10 years ago.

"When you're older I'll tell you everything I know. Promise", Clarie held up her little pinkie.

The little one giggled excitedly and intertwined her little pinkie with her mom's.

"I want to meet my soulmate", the younger one repeated, the smile not leaving her face.

"You will, honey. You will....."

⚠️Please keep in mind that this is just a Fanfiction and I had to change some things from the reality.
For example to keep Woojin out of here from their debut on.
I don't hate Woojin nor support him, but since I haven't been a Stay when he was still in the group I don't really know him and his personality well.
That's why I didn't include him in this fanfiction ⚠️
