Or Memories...

"..., Again and again."

Denki suspects there's something behind Eijirou's gaze when they change into their hero attires that day, something like fear. Not towards him, for him. Something bad is going to happen and only Eijirou knows.

"Kiri my man, what's on your mind lately?" He heard Sero, the friend in his latest life, ask the redhead. Eijirou only laughed, but his laughter sounded so... wrong.

"Haha! I'm just excited for today! We're going out there, the real world, for our first real life experience!"

They don't seem to notice it.

"Heck yeah! We're gonna save people!" Uraraka, his friend during his second reincarnation cycle, cheered, pumping her fist in the air.

He stood out from the sidelines, watching Eijirou chat with his friends. 'He's happy. They made him happy, not me.'

"Kaminari-kun." Denki jolted and whiplashed to his right. There in all his OP-ness glory, is Midoriya Izuku, a.k.a, the nerdy friend of Bakugou Katsuki during his last life. Kinda weird how many of their friends are reincarnated at the same time.

"You're not going to pull your soulmate back?" Izuku smiled, nudging gently, and so out of charac- Wait, what?

"What the fu-"

"Shhh, Denki-kun!" Izuku covered his mouth, and Denki immediately shut up.

"Wait... you... remember?" The greenette nodded. "How?"

"Well, i died from... s-suicide." He breathed out the last part, making Denki cringe.

"But wait, you were at Eiji's... that, and i still saw you the next few days. How?" Denki continued to talk to Izuku, unaware of the jealous gazes shot their way.

"Well, after Eijirou-kun's... you c-committed suicide after that, and i kinda just... break. Then months later, it's Ochako-san, then H-Hanta-kun, and... Kacchan. A-and then,... m-me."

Denki looked at him in shock and horror. "It's my fault..." He breathed. "It's all my fault. I should've died, not Eiji..."

"You're wrong."

The blonde looked up, though he didn't cry, his eyes stung.

"You're wrong." Izuku declared. "You dying doesn't make it any better, and Eijirou-kun will suffer much more than you can imagine. It's always him who watched you d-die after all. So c-cheer up, Denki-kun, the class is outside waiting for us." Izuku's eyes are filled with reassurence and stubborness that he knew so well.

"Yeah, thanks man, you're always big help." The blonde held out a fist bump, and Izuku gladly returned it.

"What's that with Midoriya?" Eijirou immedietly asked once they seperated at the bus. Denki didn't notice the jealousy in the hardening hero's tone, and shrugged.

"Nothing much, but it kinda lifted my spirit! Nervous of this real-life-experiencing-stuff this time, y'know?"

"Yeah, me too." Eijirou's totally not convinced.

-------------------------------------------------

This is not how it's supposed to happen. The villain wasn't supposed to be causing this much damage. And Denki... he isn't supposed to be stuck inside that collapsed building while the civilians he saved are running away cowardly.

"Red Riot, stand back." Said Kamui Woods. He didn't Listen.

"Hey, Red Riot!" The heroes called. They did nothing for Denki, didn't help him, didn't support him. He's not going to listen to those asses.

Red Riot hardened his entire body and dug straight into the rubble. And for once in his life, he felt truly appreciative of his Hardening quirk.

"Please be safe!"

"I can't lose you again! Not like this!"

"C'mon, c'mon! Where are you Denki!"

Red Riot continued to whisper to himself while pushing through broken cement platforms.

"Ei... ji..."

"Denki! Hold still, i'm coming!" Red Riot screamed, running towards the voice, and there, under a hollow part of the unstable rubble, was Chargebolt holding a child safe, his back towards the crushing cement piece.

"He... lp..." He chuckled painfully.

"Denki!" Red Riot used all his might to push the rubble up. He held the crying child and carried Chargebolt to the medics, who already prepaired their carrier and ambulance.

He spare no comments and made himself a spot on the ambulance.

"Denki, i thought i lost you!" Eijirou cried, holding his soulmate's hand. It's cold, colder than he remembered. Denki chuckled hoarsely through the oxygen mask, his voice almost drowned out by the beeping of the heart monitor.

"Hey, cheer up... Eiji... I'm not *cough* gone yet... am i?" He grinned, tiredly and painfully, squeezed Eijirou's hand on his own.

"No, but you almost did." Eijirou scrunched up his face bitterly. "You remember your pasts now, did you?"

"This life.." Denki confirmed.

"I'm sorry, i wasn't there for you." Eijirou bit his lips, sharp teeth almost drawing blood.

"We're here now... right? It's good.... to talk.... to... you... like..this.. again."

"Denki? Denki!"

The heart monitor slowed down to a stop, and some doctors hurried into the hostpital they've just arrived at.

Someone put a comforting gloved hand on his shoulder.

"Eijirou-kun, don't worry. I trust that he can survive this, u-unlike the last times." Izuku smiled hopefully. Eijirou didn't know how he knew, but never questioned it.

"Yeah, thanks for that..." He sniffed. The grin on that freckled face widen.

"Now go to your s-soulmate, he's waiting for you!" And with a push, Eijirou finally came running to catch up.

"You think that'll work, Deku?" Katsuki appeared beside the greenette. He nodded.

"I believe he can make it this time."

"Good, because i don't want you to die before i become the No.1 hero." Katsuki declared.

"Hopefully." Izuku just grinned at Katsuki, who's litterally making explosions.

---------------------------------------------------------

"You're his friends, right?" The doctor asked once he got out of the Emergency room, only to see 19 heroes in training and an Underground hero. They all nodded, nervous of the news.

"Well, good news, he's stable and recovering from the life-risking situation." All of the people present breathed sighs of relief. Only Eijirou's eyes spilled out.

"He's alive..." He whispered.

"He's alive."

-----------------------

A redhead sat beside the hospital bed, where a blonde electric user lies. Contrasts to his unscathed body, the unconcious blonde had bloody bandages covered almost all his skin. There were flowers on the stand next to him with get well letters and fruits.

"Hey, Denki, the doctor said you might wake up in a few days, isn't it great?" Eijirou held his soulmate's cold hand. Just like that time...

"With how well your health's processing, you'd be able to get discharged in three months. We can go on dates like the first time at my barn..." No-one responded.

"...I miss you, Denki. I really miss you." Tears started to gather under Eijirou's eyes again. "1400 years is a time too long..." He choked.

"Hey Denki, remember what i always say after you died? Who am i kidding, you couldn't have known." Eijirou smiled shakily at his poor attempt of a joke. He took a steadying breath, and started.

"'Soulmates' means forever, right?

That's why i'm going to keep searching for you.

No matter what, we'll keep meeting,

Again and Again."

Eijirou brought his left -unoccupied- hand to clutch his CR grey hoodie where the heart is.

"I'm so happy to be with you like this again, Denki. You're alive now, and it's all that matters."
