Someone was flirting with Seokjin. A wolf hybrid.

At first, the guy was simply talking to Seokjin because the cafe was quiet and he started by asking what drink Seokjin would recommend. The conversation turned into more, the wolf clearly bored and clearly finding interest once Seokjin mentioned being an alpha wolf.

"An alpha, hm?"

Jungkook shouldn't have been listening but he was bored as well. He sipped his drink and tried to busy himself, but it didn't work. He still heard most of the conversation.

"Do you have an omega?" the wolf asked. "Or would you like a beta like me? I'm not much different, you know."

Jungkook scrunched up his nose when he saw the beta wink out of the corner of his eye. He wanted to turn away and ignore the sight, but it was just so there.

"I..." Seokjin slowly slid the man's receipt towards him. "I'm not interested in dating or anything right now. Not... with you."

Though Jungkook was curious about what Seokjin meant by that, the beta wolf wasn't as curious. Instead, he looked offended.

"Really?" He snatched the paper from the counter and scowled at Seokjin. "You alpha wolves are too damn picky. Useless." He walked away with his drink, satisfied with himself.

Seokjin's jaw clenched as he watched the wolf walk away. Both wolves knew that if Seokjin said anything rude in return, he'd get in trouble at work. Seokjin could only keep his mouth shut— and once the wolf walked out of the cafe, Seokjin's anger slowly faded into a frown.

Jungkook could feel his own heart race, both upset because Seokjin was and upset because Seokjin was.

He stepped up beside Seokjin and placed a reassuring squeeze on his shoulder. Seokjin tilted his head at him, questioning.

"You're not useless, hyung." Jungkook gave him a little smile. "He's just mad because you didn't want him."

Seokjin's gaze became softer and he smiled back at him. "I know." He lifted his hand to Jungkook's head, patting between his ears. "I can't be useless if I'm your soulmate, bunny."

And fuck, Jungkook felt warm again.

Seokjin's smile was just as sweet as the feeling in his chest and oh, did it feel so good. It felt so good and warm that it almost made Jungkook feel like he'd melt to the floor.

He remembers when he first met Seokjin, how he'd ignored any feeling as much as possible— even ignored him as much as he could— but now as he looks up at Seokjin, he can't believe he was missing out on this feeling.

Shit.
