The surprise was presented to Jungkook as soon as he opened his door to Seokjin's soft knock. The wolf was holding three containers that held food and Jungkook immediately took two of the containers from his hands.

"Hyung, what is this?"

Seokjin stepped in and slipped his shoes off, closing the door with his foot. "The stew we were talking about the other day," he answered as he set his container on the table— Jungkook did the same.

The food smelled delicious and it was getting colder these days, so Jungkook shuddered just thinking about how nice the warm stew sounded right now.

"Homemade," Seokjin told him. "It's a bit spicy, though. It's got meat and vegetables. Do you remember us talking about it?"

"How could I forget?" Jungkook said without thinking. "And I love spicy food. But why did you make it?"

"I was already making it for myself because..." Seokjin shrugged. "I don't know. I mentioned it the other day and I was craving it. I planned on bringing you some at work, but then you texted me..."

Right.

Jungkook was bored and tired, having to work on a weekend, but being at home all alone didn't feel right when he had friends to hang out with— except Taehyung and Jimin were on a date right now and Seokjin...

Jungkook is lying when he says he's just bored.

He hardly ever asks anyone to come to his apartment and he only goes to Jimin and Taehyung's place when he's upset or for special occasions.

When he invited Seokjin over— just like any previous time— it was never because he simply was bored.  He just wanted to see Seokjin. And the fact that he brought the most delicious stew made it so much better— it was a plus.

"It's so good," Jungkook announced into the cold apartment air as he chewed happily at the vegetables.

"I take that as a compliment, so thank you."

It was a compliment but Jungkook stayed quiet and smiled cheekily, teasing the wolf as he refused to acknowledge him. The food was much more important right now.

When they were finished, however, they were about to make their way to the couch as usual, but Jungkook clasped his hand over the back of Seokjin's hoodie and bit at his lip as the wolf's tail curled around his arm.

"Hm?" Seokjin questioned as he turned to him.

Jungkook nodded his head in the direction of the last door down the hall. "Let's go to my room. I have a surprise for you too."

Seokjin raised an eyebrow at him, but he followed the tug of the bunny's small hand and let himself be led to the bedroom along with Jungkook.

The room was pretty empty and it wasn't decorated a lot. Jungkook ignored the fact that he'd never shown Seokjin his bedroom yet and he merely pulled him towards the bed.

Once Seokjin was sat on the edge of the bed, Jungkook waved him back, telling him to scoot back more. Seokjin gave him another questioning look, but he backed up into the middle of the bed, sitting with his legs crossed.

"Good." Jungkook took the fuzzy blanket at the end of his bed and draped it over himself. "There's no surprise," he admitted, earning a huff from the wolf.

Instead, he surprised Seokjin by crawling up the bed until he was nearing his lap.

Whether it was instinctive or not, Seokjin's hands found Jungkook's hips and he caught just a glimpse of Seokjin's flustered, red face before he trampled him, pulling the blanket over the both of them as he pushed Seokjin into the bed and lowered himself into the wolf.

He wrapped his arms around Seokjin and pressed his nose into his neck, giggling to himself as he felt just how confused Seokjin was. Seokjin's tense body relaxed once he heard the giggle and his hands found a new spot on Jungkook's back, holding him there despite the confusion.

"What's gotten into you tonight?" Seokjin laughed softly once he finally come to terms with Jungkook's sudden cuddle attack.

"I don't see you complaining," Jungkook told him. Seokjin went silent— a sign that he was at a loss for words.

Finally, after the confusion was set aside and Jungkook finally pushed the fear of being rejected away, the two relaxed into each other.

Seokjin smelled so familiar by now. Jungkook had always been sensitive to smell and he's a million percent sure that Seokjin is as well, especially as the wolf nuzzled his nose into his hair and settled there.

His hands were gentle on Jungkook's back and even gentler as he started to caress, his fingers trailing up and down Jungkook's sweater.

At some point, his fingers accidentally brushed close to Jungkook's bunny tail, the fur twitching even as Seokjin hurried his hand away, apologizing.

"It's fine," Jungkook mumbled. Every inch of his skin was sensitive. There was no need to apologize unless he wanted to apologize for how comfortable he made Jungkook feel.

The warmth seeped into his body first and his heart after. Seokjin was twice his size and so warm, the late fall chill ceasing with Seokjin's hand on his back and the warm feeling making its way into Jungkook's chest as well.

And oh god, is there.

The warmth is so nice on his body and in his heart. Like sitting by a campfire with his head rested on a lover's shoulder— that's what it felt like. Like pure satisfaction.

The point that Jungkook was trying to prove to himself when he tricked Seokjin into cuddles was that he wouldn't feel this kind of warmth. He thought that just like with Jimin and Taehyung, he'd feel comfortable and relaxed, just like with his friends.

And though he did feel comfortable and relaxed with Seokjin, he'd never felt this warmth with his friends.

Jungkook had never felt this warmth with anyone. He's never felt the calm, soothing hand easing him into his hold. He's never paid attention to the smallest things like every curve and edge of Seokjin's body below him or how warm he was, how he was nuzzling into his hair and breathing so steadily over him. Jungkook had never cared enough to sit and think about how nice his heart felt like this, in someone's hold; he'd never felt like this in someone's arms.

The point of this was to decide whether or not Jungkook could ever like being held by him— he didn't think he'd end up loving it instead.

He didn't think he'd find himself gulping, feeling the swallow brush past his calmly beating heart. He didn't think Seokjin would feel the warmth as well.

But it's there.

Maybe it's because they're soulmates. Maybe the way Seokjin noses at his soft hair and brushes over his back doesn't mean so much.

Was Jungkook overthinking?

What was Seokjin thinking? Was he overthinking just as much as him or was he simply lying there and letting the bunny cuddle him? Did he even want to cuddle? Jungkook forced him into this.

"Is this weird?" Jungkook muttered into the older's skin, again gulping once he felt his lips brush against his skin.

He tried to lift himself off of Seokjin, but Seokjin gently shook his head against his and pulled Jungkook back in by his neck, keeping him in place and holding him there.

"Don't move. You're gonna ruin it."

Jungkook huffed out into him, pouting. "But I can't breathe, you dummy."

Seokjin chuckled, his body shaking beneath Jungkook as he released the bunny. Jungkook lifted himself and peeked down at Seokjin. His eyes were glinting with that same warmth in them that Jungkook felt.

It's just so much.

Jungkook ignored the look in his eyes and instead laid his head on Seokjin's chest, hearing how peaceful his heartbeat was as well.

Seokjin repositioned his hands, one lying on the bed and the other slipping into Jungkook's hair, scratching beneath his bunny ear until they were both breathing calmly and nothing else could be heard.

The two drifted into such a nice, comforting zone, that they ended up falling asleep just like that— cuddling for the first time together.
