"Jungkook-ssi..."
He was asleep with his arm under his cheek and his hair fallen to the side. If he had his bunny ears out, they'd be laid flat against the table as well.
There was a little banana milk in front of him and a straw was poked into it. That's all he had for lunch. It looked empty and had a few dents in it as if he'd tried to suck it dry.
Seokjin wasn't meaning to stand there and look down at him for so long.
Every time he sees Jungkook, he's either ignoring him or as far away as possible. He'd never seen him up so close until now.
Eyes relaxed, snoring softly, his fingers curled under, and his lips parted. There was a bit of spit piled in the corner of his mouth and Seokjin couldn't help but hold back a laugh.
This guy was sleeping so embarrassingly out in the middle of the cafe. Right at the middle table.
Lunch had ended about two hours ago, so the employees took their own lunch after the cafe settled down and people were gone. Jungkook must've been tired from their busy day.
"Get up," Seokjin said a bit louder than before, but the bunny didn't move.
He's so annoying.
"Jungkook-ssi." He slammed his hand a little too hard on the table and Jungkook immediately raised his head and blinked up at him, his eyes droopy and his cheek red from where he'd been laying.
"W-What?" Jungkook looked around a bit and frowned down at his empty banana milk bottle that had fallen from Seokjin's hard hit.
"Your break is over. Wake up," Seokjin told him.
Jungkook then frowned up at him instead. His gaze lacked energy and he looked like he could easily fall back asleep if Seokjin left him there.
So, Seokjin stood and waited.
He waited, but didn't miss the feeling of how upset Jungkook was right now. Unlike anger or disgust— Jungkook's usual when it came to Seokjin— he clearly felt upset.
And he watched as Jungkook picked up the banana milk and shook it a bit, then crushed it in his hand as he realized nothing was there anymore.
"I'm getting up," the bunny announced. "You can go now."
They'd never had a full conversation because of moments like these. Jungkook would tell him to leave and Seokjin would gladly do so.
But both his heart and the alpha in him had started speaking a bit differently lately.
At first, Seokjin didn't want a bunny as his soulmate at all— and he still doesn't. He wants a wolf mate. He wants an omega wolf and that's that.
But the name on his wrist was attached to his soul and heart, and the alpha inside him knew that. The alpha wanted to have his mate.
Fate, the alpha part of him, and Jeon Jungkook are all annoying.
Seokjin hates it all.
In his mind, he had it laid out so perfectly: an omega wolf in his arms and pups by their side. It was supposed to be a wolf. Most wolves have wolf soulmates.
Why was he stuck with a bunny?
Why was he stuck feeling weird when he saw Jungkook cry or feeling bad for waking him up at all?
So irritating.
He doesn't want to care.
He so badly doesn't want to care.
