Yuuta was 6 years old when the mark appeared on his body. 

He was one year older than Megumi. But that mark appeared at the same time Megumi's soulmate mark appeared.

His soul mark was in the same spot that Megumi's soul mark was. In the center, at the bottom of Yuuta's right foot. 

His family also rejoiced. A party for him was thrown. He was loved and given similar treatment to how Megumi was treated.

But they didn't meet until a year later, when Yuuta moved into town. That day, they were both playing in the water park and Yuuta's family spotted Megumi's mark at the bottom of his foot when he fell.

From then on, as those who bore the same mark, they were always together. They were paired together in school, they played together, they were on the same sports teams, and they were even told to do the same hobbies and activities together. Often times, Yuuta would visit Megumi's house and vice versa, so they could build relationships with each other's family.

Their families arranged for them to be together, to ensure their families' happiness and to show thanks to the goddess for the blessing upon their children.

And from then on, they did everything together. Absolutely everything together.

Almost as if they were one person.

And that was how they were seen.

For their entire lives thus far, Yuuta and Megumi were inseparable.
