My Little Ghost

(Y/n)'s POV:

I yawned and stretched as I made my way through the door of my new apartment. Today was my first day at my new job working for a company. It was filled with lots of files and I already had a small stack of paperwork waiting for me to finish.

I dropped my bag somewhere in the hallway and kicked off both my shoes in random directions. I'll worry about getting my stuff together in the morning, for now, I was exhausted.

I trudged over to where I'd left my stuff earlier. I noticed that some of my clothes and books were spread out on the floor and that a bottle of windex was missing from my cleaning supplies.

"That's strange..." I could've sworn that my things were in the pillow case when I left, and I knew that my windex was definitely with the other supplies. I stared at my stuff a little longer before blinking and shaking my head.

'Don't be silly, (Y/n). You probably went through your stuff before you left for work. That's why it's spread out. You're just too tired to remember.' I reasoned out why things were different in my head and grabbed my nightclothes out of my small clothing pile.

I didn't bother going into the other room to change. The garden on the balcony hides my living room from view and there wasn't anyone else in the apartment with me.

I unbuttoned my shirt and slowly pulled it off. Stretching my tired arms in the process. I tossed my shirt by my stuff on the floor. Next I took off my pants and walked over to dig through my things. I bent over to pick up my night clothes and stopped right when I grabbed their soft (f/c) fabric.

I quickly turned around, holding the fabric to hide myself. I suspiciously looked around the empty apartment. There was nobody there.

'Don't be such a scaredy-cat (Y/n)!' I let out a sigh and scolded myself in my head.

I still couldn't shake the feeling of being watched though, so I quickly got dressed and turned back to my stuff. I grabbed my pillow and blanket, then left the living room. I entered the room that would be my master bedroom once the moving trucks came.

It's soft carpet would have to serve as a mattress for now. I cringed as I saw in the moonlight the tiny puffs of dust that plumed around my feet with every step I took. Clearly the last owner didn't know about vacuums.. or any other cleaning supplies given how this place looked.

With a sigh, I unfurled my blanket and spread it on the floor. I crouched down with my pillow before laying down with it on top of the blanket. As I rested on my back I stared at the ceiling, just... thinking.

The apartment seemed too big for just me. A little... empty. Of course my furniture will add personality to it and it'll be less of a blank canvas, but I still had no clue when the moving van would arrive.

My new job was pretty okay too. Although I'm nervous about making friends with my coworkers, I'm excited to see what the future brings. My future paperwork will be hell though, that much is certain at least.... I'm not sure how much of a bad thing it will be, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. The boss seemed really nice too. A little too nice if you asked me. I felt like he was eyeing my body throughout the entire day and he was all too eager to help me settle into my new little "office". I call it an "office" but that's really just me making it seem better than it actually is. My work space is a small grey cube with a desk, computer, lamp, and a trash bin. It's not much, but it's mine.

*Thump!*

I was jolted from my thoughts when I heard a noise from the living room. I looked over at my open bedroom door, staring into the ominous, pitch black, hallway through which it lead.

*Rustle, thump!*

More noises. My stomach started to tighten a bit as I listened intently. I silently got up from my position on my makeshift "bed", if you could even call it that, and made my way into the hall. The small pile of my stuff was gone! I looked around for it but couldn't find any of my items.

'C'mon! It's an EMPTY apartment! How hard can it be to find a few items?!'

I quickly turned and went into the kitchen, searching around there for my belongings. After about two minutes of searching there, I gave up and went back towards the living room to look in one of the other rooms in that area of the apartment.

There, in a neat pile on the floor, were all the items I'd been searching for. They were sitting beside two big new boxes. I slowly edged my way over and studied the boxes. These were definitely mine from the moving company. But... how'd they get in? I didn't even sign for the packages!

You know what? Nope. Not today Satan. It's too late to be dealing with this shit.

Determined that I was going to get a full night of sleep, I turned away from the boxes and decided not to question anything. I swiftly made my way back into my bedroom. I made sure close the door, and laid my phone on the floor next to me before falling asleep.

-TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY A RAGING EREN JAGER-

Two months later
Late evening, in the garden terrace
Still (Y/n)'s POV:

Work is pretty fun now that I've got the hang of it, even if the men in the office practically lose it every time they see me. Even Jaehee, my new best friend in the workplace, looses her composure from time to time. It's both flattering and annoying at the same time. I mean.. I'm just a normal woman right? I'm not anymore special than anyone else....

Oh yeah! The whole thing with the two boxes is still a mystery to me. One of the movers said that my "boyfriend" signed for it. Thing is, I don't have a boyfriend and I know that I was completely alone in the apartment. But whatever. All my stuff was delivered safely and nothing was lost aside from a Windex bottle so.... it's a win?

Currently I was enjoying the end of my sweet day off by relaxing in the hot tub on my garden terrace. A book in one hand and a (f/d) in the other. This was the life!

*~pling pling plin pli plonk~ *

I could hear the piano in my living room play a few notes. This happens from time to time. It's just one of the many strange instances of the apartment. Sometimes my coffee machine will turn itself on in the middle of the night. Things that I set down absentmindedly or randomly toss just appear where they were supposed to be later on.

At first all the strange happenings scared me a bit, but I was determined that this apartment was my home and I would not give it up for anything! Now I just shrug it off and blame it all on "my little ghost".

My things really did brighten up the apartment a lot! Now every room is decorated and my furniture is all set up, so the place isn't as empty anymore. It's nice to have an actual bed again! I slept on the floor in my makeshift bed for 2 weeks before I got my actual mattress! And after that I slept on the floor on just my mattress for a whole other week because my bed frame got lost!

It wasn't too terribly bad though. The only thing I could complain about would be the fact that I was on the floor!

After a while of reading I gently closed my book and set my (f/d) to the side as I got out of the hot water. The wind hit my skin and I could feel the goosebumps forming as a shiver ran down my back. After drying off with a (f/c) towel I picked up my (f/d) and book and headed inside.

I glanced at the piano for a brief second as I passed by before placing the book back on my bookshelf and heading into the kitchen to clean my (cup/glass). I nearly jumped out of my skin when I finished and my phone started to ring. I groaned when I saw the caller ID, but answered it in a happy tone anyways.

"Hi Mom! What're you up to?"
"Oh... uh-huh... yeah... wow!"

The conversation was going fine and I almost started to feel guilty about groaning. ALMOST. As soon as I regretted the action my mother decided to ask that same stupid question again!

" Now dear, you're absolutely sure you don't want your father and I to help you pay rent? "

And there it was! My mother didn't think I was ready to move so far away. And she especially didn't think I was capable of taking care of myself.

"Yes Mom, I'm absolutely positive!"
" Well what if the elevator stops working?! "
"Then I wait for it to be fixed, or I take the stairs"
" What if there's a fire?! "
"Then I sit back and let the fire department do their jobs."
" What if there's a burglar?! "
"Then I get robbed!"
" But what if-! "
"Mom I'm fine! Really! Nothing's gonna happen! I'm okay! *yawn* Look Mom I'm really tired and I've got to go to work tomorrow. I'll call you back after work ok? Love you! Byeeeee~"

I hung up before she could ask any more silly questions. I loved her, but I wish she had more faith in me. I opened the door to my bathroom and slid off the (f/c) bikini top I was wearing along with its matching bottoms, hanging them on the towel rack before getting into the shower and turning on the water.

I finished my shower and dried off before hanging the towel with my bikini. It was nice living alone because I didn't have to worry about flashing anyone as I went into my bedroom to get dressed for the night.

I put on a pair of (f/c) lace panties as well as the bra that matched them. After that I pulled on my silk night dress. It had a (f/c) lace trim and straps. It also had a (f/c) ribbon around the bust that tied in a bow and made my boobs kind of stick out. The main colour was (s/f/c). It was short, covering about only half of my ass.

I climbed into my bed and got under the covers after turning out the light. I got settled in and let out a sigh before closing my eyes. I whispered a soft good night to my "ghost" even if there was nothing there, and let myself start to drift off.

I was just about to pass out for the night when I felt the area behind me on the bed shift a bit, like a person had just laid down. Normally I would've freaked but I was already so far gone into the world of dreams that I didn't care. I only let out a soft hum and lightly smiled as I felt my hair being played with in a relaxing manner.

Though no one was there, I could've sworn I heard the words "good night" spoken to me before I finally gave in to sleep.
