"What do you mean by 'oh shit' ?"
Marinette was amused by Alya's extraordinary reaction.

"Hey, he's proposing to you, what's that expression on your face? " Adrien laughed.

The guys chimed in, " Marry him, marry him."

"Um... guys... this is really sudden."
"Don't you love him? Don't you want to spend all your life with him? " Marinette quickly asked.

"No, that's not what I meant… now's not the time… after all... Luka... "

"Luka would have been very happy if he could see you guys right now... Alya, there are some things in life you just can't wait for, don't regret it once you let it pass you by... It's rare for those who meet in high school to end up as husband and wife..."

Marinette's words were extremely convincing.

Alya's eyes sparkled with tears as she said, "You idiot, where did you get the ring and the flowers. You surprised the crap out of me... "

Looks like she was extremely touched by Nino's gesture...

"See, Nino is genuinely sincere... " Iven uncharacteristically interjected.

"If you don't say 'yes', I'm going to stand up... my knee hurts. " Nino joked.

"If you stand up, I'm going to break your leg! "

Upon hearing Alya's threatening, everybody burst into rabid laughter...

Max suddenly said, "Although Alya's reaction was not what we expected, there's a 99.99% chance that she'll be engaged today. "

Alya threw a smile at them before she reached out her hand, allowing an ecstatic Nino to put the ring on her finger and hand her the bouquet of red roses.

"Kiss him, kiss him... " Alix was enjoying the show as an onlooker.

Upon hearing this, Alya didn't hesitate and kissed Nino, right on the lips - she was a typical outgoing Parisian woman.

Everybody burst into applause...

Marinette smiled happily as she watched the happy couple. 

"Decide on a date, so that we can celebrate you guys! Just make sure that Mylene's out of postpartum recovery, or else she won't be able to drink. Poor her, she's not being able to drink even today! " Chloé commented.

"Right, right. Me too. " Marinette chimed in.

"You pregnant women are so needy... " Alya joked.

"Hey, if you still want your children to marry mine, you better behave. " The bluenette threatened with a smile on her face.

"What about next month? The weather won't be so cold by then. " Rose smiled.

"Next week is pretty good too, " Marinette added.

"Why next week, when you can marry today?" Adrien interjected.

"Gosh, guys, it's my wedding, not yours! " Alya pouted as she smiled in Nino's embrace...

Marinette could detect the happiness in her expression, it seems like she made the right decision- Luka would have agreed to her plan today.

"So, are we going to eat wedding candy soon? "Juleka smiled.

"Wait, so isn't Mr. Nino Lahiffe supposed to pay the bill tonight? After all, it's a big day for him. " Chloé teased.

"Sounds good, I'm paying tonight, let's drink up." Nino said generously.

Everyone could say that he loved Alya very much; after she agreed to his proposal, his face was filled with nothing but happiness.

If Marinette didn't egg them on, they were probably never going to get married.

They couldn't just live together forever, right?

After the proposal, the gang went back to enjoying the meal.

Marinette excused herself, saying that she needed air. Then she walked out of the private room and up-to the rooftop of the hotel, staring off into the night sky with a blank expression on her face.

After a few minutes, Adrien looked down at his watch and said worriedly, "You guys eat, I'm going to see what's going on."

After he walked out of the room, Chloé suddenly said, " Do you guys think that Adrien is happy right now or in agony? "

The group fell silent on hearing this...

" I think Adrien might sink deeper and deeper…" Iven commented.

" I think that this is Adrien's dream come true, it might be a good thing... You guys are on Luka's side and might hate me for saying it, I still have to analyze the situation objectively. Now that Luka passed away, then it's the best opportunity for Adrien… He's her best choice... At the same time, Adrien loves her very much. " Kim immediately went into speech-mode.

"My girl's not someone to fall in love with someone else this easily. " Alya said, unwilling to settle.

"I know she's not... but it's just a matter of time... Alya suddenly chimed in after taking a sip of water, "That's way down the road, we should let things take its course…"

Alix nodded in agreement, " I feel the same way. But, if Marinette is able to move on from Luka, Adrien is unquestionably the best person to take care of her..."

After hearing what Alix said, the group fell silent; no one said anything else to object, because they all knew how Adrien felt towards Marinette...

Marinette stood atop a low windowsill out on the corridor of the restaurant, looking down from the sixth floor. They weren't high up, but the scenery was picturesque.

From where she stood, she could see the plants and the trees of the garden, it was beautiful.

Marinette reached out to open the window and the cold breeze blew in, immediately clearing up her mind...

She placed hand on her lower abdomen and slowly whispered, "Honey… the spring's almost here... but you're not with me right now... why? Why did you have to leave me? Why can't we be together always? "

The truth was that she felt hopeless, she didn't know what to do now, now that all her dreams are shattered and the man she loved had gone away... never to return again...

Therefore, at that moment, she felt like ending all her pain...

The strong breeze blew through the window and she stepped on the window, her skinny figure swaying as if she might fall over any second...

That was the scene Adrien saw when he found her, standing on the window of the sixth floor corridor with the window wide open…

He immediately felt his heart in his throat and shouted angrily, "MARINETTE DUPAIN CHENG, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING! "

She slowly turned around, coming back to her senses when she saw a fuming Adrien.

"I'm okay. Just wanted to get some fresh air."

"Come down..." Adrien shouted in a loud voice. He was both worried about her and scolding her.

"Okay... I'm going to come down now, you don't have to shout." She complained.

Just when Marinette was about to move, she realized something was off.
She couldn't move her body because her leg was cramping.

When Adrien saw how strange she looked, he started to get anxious. "What's wrong? " he asked.

" My leg is cramping... it hurts. "

Adrien rushed over when he heard Marinette's words. He picked her up and she put her arms around his neck for support.

With her in his arms, Adrien rushed over to the private room
"You guys should eat first. Marinette's leg is cramping so I need to take her to the hospital."

Then, he turned around and ran out without looking back.

The people in the private room were left amused.

George said, " She's just having a leg cramp... look how nervous our Mr. Agreste is. "

Mylene said, " Actually, it's pretty normal for pregnant women to get cramps. It's because we get calcium deficiency. I still have them sometimes."

Iven nodded, "I agree. Adrien is too much nervous around her. "

Alya sipped on her beer as she said, " I'm starting to like Adrien more and more. He's so manly. "

Nino said, " So, does my proposal just now still count? Ms. Cesaire, when do you plan on marrying me? "

Everybody laughed when Nino raised the question oh-so-casually.

Alya blushed, "Wait till my mood gets better."

On there way to the hospital, Adrien drove his Maybach very slowly...

Marinette sensed the slow speed and asked, " Hey, can we get to the hospital before nightfall? "

"I can't drive too fast, you're pregnant."

"I'm only pregnant. I'm not dying... So, you don't have to be that careful... haha. " She couldn't help but laugh.

Adrien brought her to the hospital and immediately got the doctor to do a full physical check on her... He was only relieved when the doctor said that there was nothing wrong with her.

On Adrien's insistence, a nurse took her to a ward so that she could lie down and rest for a while.

"Don't worry. I'm fine now, really. " Marinette smiled at Adrien, hoping to calm him down.

"Tell me the truth. For a moment back there, did you want to jump? "

"Just a little... but really it was only a thought and I didn't do it... After all, I still have two babies and I would never do that to them."

"Marinette, don't do stupid things. I was scared to death. Don't die, please, don't die, okay?"

Adrien was truly scared at that moment…

He was a man who wasn't afraid of anything. Actually, he was afraid of one thing, only one thing in his life, that was losing Marinette.

When he saw her up there, he was so scared that his heart felt like it was going to jump out of his throat.

No one else would ever be able to understand that feeling…

"I won't."

"You have to live on. You have to be strong... All the bad things will pass. "

"Mhm. "

"Are you feeling better? "

"Yeah... I want to go home."

"Okay, let me take care of the bills. I'll come for you after that, mmm? "

"Okay. "

After comforting her, Adrien walked out, looking incredibly lonely. He would rather fight for years on a battlefield than be in that moment again...

He couldn't afford to lose her...

Not at any cost...
