VI. Seduced.
Monday afternoon, me and Edward came back from taking a swim in the ocean, and then we lounged at the pool. As we entered through the backdoor, there was a knock at the front door and Edward went to answer.
He came back with two people following him, an older man and a woman with dark features. They both looked skittish and spooked. "Ana, these are our housekeepers, Gustavo and Kaure." he introduced them. "This is my wife Ana." he introduced me. The woman looked at me with a fearful look before turning to Edward, speaking furiously in her native tongue. The man with her quickly dragged her away. Edward cleared his throat and approached me. "Well, I guess we just leave them to it."
I looked in the direction the man and woman had left in and then turned to Edward, my eyebrows furrowing. "What was that all about?" I asked him.
Edward gave me a tight-lipped smile as he sat down on the couch, and I followed, draping my legs over his lap as I sat facing him. "She's afraid for you," he informed me as he rubbed a hand up and down my leg.
My brows furrowed even more as I looked at him. "Why?" I questioned in confusion.
Edward smiled softly as his free hand came up and gently brushed through my damp hair. "Because I have you here all alone," he explained softly.
My eyes squinted, and my eyebrows furrowed again as realization dawned on me. "You mean she knows about you?" I questioned as I quirked an eyebrow.
Edward nodded his head while shrugging his shoulders. "She suspects," he explained and I gave him a questioning look. "She's native Ticuna. They have legends about blood-drinking demons who prey on beautiful women," he explained further.
I took a moment to take in his words before a small smile tugged at my lips and I rested my head against the back of the couch. "All I'm hearing is, I'm a beautiful woman." I joked as I playfully wiggled my eyebrows.
Edward laughed softly as he shook his head. "Very beautiful actually," he told me before leaning forward, pressing soft kisses to my lips as my smile grew.
Tuesday passed almost the same as Monday, with Edward preparing me food and the two of us spending the day outside. Switching from the pool to the ocean for some swimming. It was a calm and relaxing day.
Wednesday afternoon I was outside after having lunch that Edward made for me. I was wearing a black bikini, lathered in sunscreen from top to bottom as I laid on a plush lounge chair.
"What are you doing?" Edward asked as he came out of the house, wearing black swim shorts and a black t-shirt. He shamelessly let his eyes drift over me, appreciating my half-naked form.
"Tanning," I replied as I turned my head and looked up at him with a lazy smile tugging at my lips.
Edward scoffed in amusement as he stared down at me, slowly shaking his head. "Not with that much sunscreen on." he laughed softly.
"Come sit with me," I told him as I patted my lounge chair. Edward offered me a smile as he sat down on the edge of my lounge chair. Immediately his hand reached out and rested against my thigh. I reached out, taking his hand into mine."I could stay here forever if it wasn't for the sun." I said softly.
Edward's smile grew as he stared down at me. "Why is that?" he asked softly.
"It's peaceful and quiet," I explained as I squeezed his hand before I sat up, scooting closer to him as I pulled my knees up to my chest. "And it's just you and me," I added before leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
Edward smiled against my lips before he kissed back. After a second, he pulled away and smiled fondly at me. "It is perfect, isn't it?" he asked softly as he tilted his head to the side.
I nodded as I let out a soft breath of contentment. "More than perfect," I replied before kissing him again.
Thursday and Friday passed similarly, with me and Edward just lounging around by the pool and and on the beach. We watched a few movies, walked around the beach a little, and played checkers. It was a completely new experience for Edward to be able to play with someone and not know their every move. Yet, he still won each time.
Saturday morning I woke up at ten and came sauntering out of the bedroom, following the aroma of food coming from the kitchen. When I walked in, Edward looked up from the pan of bacon he was busy with on the stove. "You slept late," he commented.
I hummed as I nodded my head, plopping myself down on a chair at the kitchen island. With my chin resting on the palm of my hand, I watched Edward cook. "For as tired as I've been, you'd think I'd sleep better," I mumbled.
Edward frowned, eyebrows furrowing as he looked at me over his shoulder. "You've been sleeping like the dead. Ana," he informed me and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "If it weren't for the snoring, I'd worry you were slipping into a coma." he teased.
I pursed my lips, eyes squinting as I shot him a look that made him grin. "I'm gonna ignore the snoring comment," I told him and he chuckled softly. "I haven't been tossing?" I asked and he shook his head. I frowned. "That's weird. Usually, I'm all over the bed when I'm having nightmares." I mumbled.
Edward turned off the stove and looked at me with a frown as he plated the food. "You've been having nightmares?" he questioned as he put the plate in front of me.
I pursed my lips, pushing my tongue against the inside of my cheek as I looked at him through my lashes. Hesitantly I nodded. "Vivid ones. They make me so tired." I muttered as I ran a hand through my hair.
Edward frowned deeply as he stared down at me. "Why haven't you said anything?" he asked as he shook his head in confusion.
I sighed softly as I stared up at him, nibbling on the inside of my bottom lip for a moment before I spoke. "Because I know how you like to worry," I explained.
"What are they about?" he questioned, and immediately, my eyes diverted down to my plate of food. I remained silent as I poked at the bacon and eggs. "Ana," Edward spoke firmly as he waited for me to respond.
I sighed again before looking up at Edward. "The Volturi," I replied softly.
Edward's eyebrows furrowed as he sat down on a chair next to me. "They're not going to hurt you," he assured me, shaking his head while reaching out to brush his hand through my hair.
A pouty frown tugged at my lips as I looked at him. "What if they decide to come visit?" I asked softly as I raised my eyebrows.
Edward shook his head again as he tugged a strand of hair behind my ear before moving his hand to cup my cheek. "Alice will see it," he replied.
"If it's within the next three years, they're gonna see I'm a newborn vampire." I reasoned as I shook my head. "What if Aro sees in one of your minds that I was hastily changed days before they came?" I questioned with worry.
"He won't care as long as you're a vampire by the time he arrives," he assured and I sighed as I lowered my gaze. He turned my face back to him. "Ana, everything will be okay," he assured firmly.
I silently nodded my head, trusting my husband.
Later that night, while in the bathroom, getting ready for bed, I came upon a lacy black nightgown. It was short with lots of patches of lace and a low neckline. It left very little to the imagination.
I decided to give it a try and put it on. I opened the bathroom door and leaned against it. Edward looked up from the book he was reading, already under the covers in bed. For a brief moment, his eyes swooped over my body and widened.
His gaze shot up, locking onto mine. He was viably unsure if he should look amused or horrified. "Ana...what are you wearing?" he questioned as he put the book on his bedside table.
I looked down at the little dress and snorted softly as I shook my head. "Well with this little material, basically nothing," I replied as I looked back at Edward and flashed him a flirty little grin. "Although, I do prefer nothing." I teased.
Edward shook his head as he choked out a laugh. Quickly, he tried to pull a serious face but failed miserably as he looked at me. "Ana, we've talked about this." he reminded me.
"Yes, I remember," I replied as I nodded my head and shrugged my shoulders. "I told you all about how I'm fine." I reminded him. I crossed my arms over my chest as I shifted my weight onto one foot. "You can't want me to be human and not expect me to have human emotions and feelings and needs," I told him as I shook my head.
Edward's gaze drifted over me once again and he groaned as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You're making it really hard to say no to you," he muttered as he shook his head.
I uncrossed my arms and placed my hand on my hips, flashing him another flirty smile. "Then don't say no to me," I replied as I shook my head.
"Ana..." Edward groaned, throwing his head back against the pillows. He laughed softly before flipping himself over, burying his face into my pillows. "You're going to be the death of a man who can't die," he complained, voice muffled by the pillows.
I approached the bed as Edward turned onto his back and sat up. I climbed onto his lap, straddling him as I smiled softly, pressing a kiss to his lips.
I got my way that night and we had sex again. Again, the most amazing thing I had ever experienced. Nothing could ever compare to Edward making love to me.
Sunday morning I woke up alone in bed. This time, there was slightly less damage to the room. I got up, eyeing my ripped-to-shreds nightgown, as I got dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I followed the path to the kitchen where Edward was finishing some pancakes.
I pursed my lips as I slowly approached, arms crossed over my chest. "How much trouble am I in?" I asked softly, raising my eyebrows.
Edward looked at me over his shoulder, the small smile on his lips indicating he wasn't angry about last night. "A lot." he joked as he gave me a mocking stern look.
I approached him from behind and wrapped my arms around his waist. "I am sorry," I said sincerely. "I didn't mean...well, I don't know exactly what that was last night." I said, feeling bad for seducing him when I knew that he had already told me no after the first time. "Am I forgiven?" I asked softly as I rested my head against his back.
"I'm thinking about it." Edward teased as he flipped one last pancake in the pan.
I sighed softly, staying silent for a moment before I spoke again."The pillows all appear to have survived." I muttered softly.
"Unfortunately, I can't say the same for your, er, night-gown." Edward mused as he turned off the stove and placed the pancake on a plate with the rest he had made. Then he turned around to face me.
"That's too bad," I muttered as I gave him a playful pout. "I liked that one."
Edward smiled softly as his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. "I did, too," he replied as his eyes roamed over my body.
"Were there any other casualties?" I asked as I raised my eyebrows, my head tilting to the side.
"I'll have to buy Esme a new bed frame," he mused as he pursed his lips. He stared down at me, his hands running up and down his side. "How are you feeling?" he asked softly as one of his hands moved up to cup my cheek.
"I'm okay," I assured softly as I pursed my lips, my gaze diverting to the floor. Edward chuckled softly and I looked up at him, raising my eyebrows. "What?" I asked softly.
He smiled down at me with a face filled with amusement. "You look so guilty, like you've committed a crime," he told me as he brushed his hand across my cheek.
"I feel guilty," I admitted softly as I frowned.
Edward let out a soft laugh as he continued to stare down at me, shaking his head. "So you seduced your all-too-willing husband. That's not a capital offense," he told me.
My eyes squinted as I stared up at him, my lips pulling into a tight straight line. "The word seduced implies a certain amount of premeditation," I told him in a light tone of voice.
He laughed softly as he playfully rolled his eyes to the side before looking back down at me again. "Maybe that was the wrong word," he replied as both his hands returned to my waist, giving me a light squeeze.
"You're not angry?" I asked softly as I raised my eyebrows.
"I'm not angry," Edward assured, shaking his before leaning down and peppering soft kisses against my lips.
