•Epilogue•
I stood alone in the cemetery, listening to all the little sounds around me, taking in the different smells. The sun basked down on me, reflecting off my skin. There was a heavy feeling settled in my chest. I felt on the verge of tears I could no longer cry.
With a soft smile, I thought about how far I had come and the things I had faced and gone through to get myself to this very moment. I thought of everything I went through before Forks that led me here.
I thought of that very first day, arriving in Forks. I thought of that girl...the girl I would never be again. She was dead now and part of me missed her. I was thankful for her because without how strong and resilient she was, I wouldn't be here. For now and for as long as I could, I'd carry that innocent and fiery girl in my heart and I'd cherish her forever.
I'd cherish her memories and all the people she had met and grown to love for as long as I could. Even if all those people were gone now. Every single human being Anastasia Moore had known, her friends and family, were gone, and with that, she was a forgotten memory now too.
I knew one day I'd too start to forget, I'd forget her no matter how hard I tried to remember.
Anastasia Moore was dead.
I looked down at my hand, eyes following the two white roses in my hand. With a soft sigh, I diverted my gaze to the two graves standing side by side. I smiled softly as I stepped forward. "I missed you, Mom," I whispered as I crouched down and laid one of the roses carefully on her grave. "You really were right. The move was good for us." I said softly.
I stood up as I caught a familiar scent and turned around. I smiled softly at the familiar figure approaching me. One of my last living memories of my old life, my human life, my innocent life. One of my first memories in Forks. A sight of the good old times, when things were simple and uncertain. I smiled as he approached me. "You got old Jake." I teased and he snorted as he rolled his eyes at me before wrapping me in a bear hug.
"Jakey!" Delia called out as she ran towards us with her father approaching behind her. Delia was still young in many ways, and with how significantly her aging had slowed down after all these years, she only looked fourteen now.
Jacob pulled away from me and caught Delia, her long dark brown hair falling around them as she engulfed Jacob in a big hug. "Lia." He sighed as he smiled softly.
"Jacob." Edward's voice rang out, his tone friendly as he approached. As Jacob pulled away from Delia, he shared a friendly handshake with Edward.
I turned to my daughter, holding out the white rose I still had. "Want to give this one to Charlie?" I asked her softly.
"Yeah." She replied as she took the rose. She stepped up to the two graves, smiling sadly. "Hey, Grandpa." She greeted as she laid the rose down. She turned her head, looking at the grave where I had laid the other rose. "I miss you, Nana Elle." She whispered.
Delia stood back up and wiped at her eyes before turning around and stalking towards the car. Jacob shared a smile of sympathy with me before following Delia. I turned to leave as well but stopped when I noticed Edward wasn't following. "Are you coming?" I asked softly.
"Just a minute." He replied before approaching the graves. "I'll be good to Ana and Lia," he spoke softly, and I turned away to give him some sense of privacy. "I wish you were both here to greet us coming back. But I know it wasn't what you wanted." he went on softly. "Eleanor, Charlie...I love you. We all miss you dearly." he said softly. Then Edward's attention turned to me. "Ready?" he asked softly.
"Yeah," I whispered as I nodded my head, giving him a small smile.
He took my hand and we started walking towards the car. I was silent, thinking of what awaited me. I was ready. Ready to start a new life, a new beginning in Forks, where no one was old enough to remember my existence or that of the Cullen family. Except for the wolves.
Anastasia Moore was dead, but Ana Cullen would be forever young, and she'd live eternity to its fullest, with her eternal family.
