7. Leo
Trying to outrun an angry psycho really isn't my ideal way of starting the day, but hey I'll take it.
It started with a simple prank with my friends, Travis and Connor Stoll. It was supposed to be for the new girl, as a welcome to school gift. It's tradition.
But of course Travis got the wrong locker number and we ended up pranking Sherman Yang. He's got real anger issues.
And that's how Travis, Connor and I ended up running for our lives some an angry Sherman covered in pink paint.
The three of us were swiftly dodging any bystanders in our path, trying to escape. Sherman was running into people, but he didn't care so he was right behind us.
I gained a burst of speed and ran around the left corner.
I accidentally ran into a girl with cinnamon-coloured hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a blindingly white dress that went just above her knee with a pale green belt wrapped around her waist, with tan sandals.
I momentarily paused my epic chase sequence and winked at her. "Hey Sunshine." I winked.
"Go away." She retorted. "Your wish is my command." I bowed before speeding off down the hall.
About five minutes later, after I lost Sherman, I froze. What had the cinnamon haired girl said?
Go away
I checked my arm quickly. The words, Go Away stared at me in the face. I needed to check.
If I was a cinnamon haired girl who told the sexiest man in the world to go away, where would I be?
As I headed to the library, because that's where I thought she'd be, the bell rang. Not needing to be late for English for the fifth day this week, I raced down the second hall and ran into the classroom just as the second bell rang.
I took the only seat left in class, which I realized with a start was next to the same cinnamon haired girl that I ran into.
"You again?" She wrinkled her nose.
"You really a ray of sunshine." I muttered, searching for my pencil.
"Don't tell me you didn't bring any supplies." The girl sighed, tiredly. She's only known me for 10 minutes and she's already tired of me.
"Hehehe, oops?" I chuckled sheepishly. "Any chance I could borrow one? And uh, maybe some paper?"
The girl groaned and handed me her spare pencil, and a single sheet of paper. "Thank you madam." I teased as I wrote my name on sheet.
"I'm Calypso." She said stiffly.
"Leo, bad boy supreme." I winked. She rolled her eyes and shoved her face into her arms on the desk.
I was ready to try to see if we were soulmate's right then and there, but my English teacher was keeping a tight watch on me. School's only been in action for around a week and he already distrusts me?
Smart man.
Normally, I'd make something out of spare paper or small pieces of metal in my pocket, but since I didn't have either of those things I had nothing to fidget with.
Class seemed to go for hours. I was going crazy. When the bell rang, I shot out that door faster than you can say the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Then I remembered I needed to ask Calypso her soulmate words and ran back to the classroom. Thankfully, she was still talking to the teacher, about our essay homework.
I waited at the door for her, impatiently. She turned and saw me, her look flashing disgust for a minute before rolling her eyes and coming over. "What do you want? To give my pencil back?" She sighed, grumpily.
"Oh yeah." I remembered as I handed her the pencil. "By the way, can I see your soulmate words?" I said smoothly.
She looked at me like I'd just caught on fire. Which honestly could've happened if the Stoll's where around. But I was pretty sure I wasn't on fire.
"It's none of your business." She glared at me. Was it my imagination, or was she blushing lightly?
"Stop staring at me." She demanded, turning on her heel.
"It's my business if your my soulmate." The words tumbled out of my mouth. Calypso froze.
"Excuse me?" She said slowly as she turned around.
I was starting to get a little nervous. "uh, you told me to go away earlier and those are my soulmate words so I was thinking-"
I was cut off as I noticed Calypso was sizing me up, as if noticing I was actually a human being for the first time.
Calypso checked her arm and stiffened. "My god..." she trailed. She looked up at me, her eyes wide.
"Well?" I asked, trying to contain my mild excitement.
"Nope." Calypso shook her head, but for just a moment I saw her eyes and somehow just knew she was lying.
But before I could say anything, she sped off down the hall without another word and vanished.
