I was weary but I drove to the restaurant. I saw him sitting at a table. I sat down.
"Hi," I said.
"Hey, you look great,"
"Thanks," I blushed. I felt a little weird. I was wearing a dress and he was in jeans in a t-shirt. There was another plate set at the table. Then a girl walked out of the bathroom and sat down.
She had long brown hair and was skinny.
"Hi I'm Cat,"
(Sorry if you like cat but I don't so....)
"Y/n," I mumbled. The whole time Joey paid attention to Cat and barely said anything to me. She kept flaunting her boobs and laughing at everything. I grumbled and stood up, exiting the restaurant. He never wanted to go on a date with me. I sat on the bench outside. The cold wind whipped around me. How could I be so naive?
I brushed the hair out of my face and sighed. The wind was making my eyes water. Or maybe I was just crying.
The door to the restaurant opened and someone sat down beside me. I looked up. Joey.
"What the hell could you possibly want?" I said icily, scooting away from him.
"Can I explain?" He offered.
I laughed. Not a happy laugh but a cold half-hearted one.
"What is there to explain?" I choked out.
"I'm sorry. I mean- I was at home and Cat came over and she was crying about some guy and I tried to tell her I had to change but she wouldn't listen and started crying harder so that's why I look like shit. Then I dropped her of at her house but when I came to the restaurant I guess she followed me here and was siting at the table and I told her to leave and he said she would but she had to go to the bathroom. When she came out she sat down and I don't know you were there and I didn't want to seem like a ass."
"Yeah well you are an ass," I said not fully meaning it. "But none of that explains why you were ignoring me in there."
"I don't know. I was nervous. I guess it was easier to talk to her but that's not an excuse. I was a dick and I'm sorry,"
I just nodded, I scooted closer towards him and he wrapped his jacket around my shoulders. "The stars look pretty," I mumbled, leaning into Joey.
We sat in silence for a few seconds when Joey said, "Wanna know something?" I looked up at him. "I don't even like coffee."
I smiled, and leaned up and his lips met mine.
