The Ship

Siddharth's POV

It was confirmed that it was a ship. The furniture inside looked royal, very royal. I carefully dusted a wooden piece of the inner wall to reveal the intricate designs carved. Anjali crawled here and here, picking wooden strips, most of which had the same design at the back. What surprised me was the heavy frames, containing age old paintings. Though the years had passed, the material used as the paper was not even ripped. Only the paintings were covered with dust and other mess, keeping its secrecy. I saw that the the wood was unbelievably durable. Or was it even wood? This place had many, many mysteries involved.

Anjali's POV

I collected all the strips lying on the deck. They were same as the ones I collected earlier. Probably, they had more verses, which would lead to something interesting. I glanced at him, a strange feeling started growing inside. Why were we here together? Was there any reason for it?

I saw him dusting a huge trunk. It was shaped like a swan, with its lid resembling the swan's wing. I inched closer, joining him. To our surprise, the lid opened with a little pressure. It neither required a key, nor had a keyhole.

All we stared were the rolls, rolls of thick material. We needed some strong solution to clear the matter inside. If we could make it legible, we would be a step forward.

Observing midnight hour, we both left. Tomorrow was going to be a big day as a major part of our discovery was to be unveiled.

I tried to clear the vision in front. The beautiful cream clouds, the deep blue waters, the pink hue on the green trees, and....the Ship. As elegant as ever, it sailed, just as a huge swan gliding in the waters. The flag which shone as bright as the sun...

And suddenly, the sails of the Ship arched down and a second later, lightly rose, high in sky. Feeling of the fresh air made me smile. And then, out of nowhere came the cloud horses, all grandly decorated with the morning mist.

A warm wrap around my body made me shiver. It was him again! The same scene. I felt his hug so warm that a drop of sweat trickled down my chin.

I got up to experience the cold AC air. I was just dreaming. But something strange was that I could see what others couldn't. I could exactly describe the beauty of the Ship which was in a devastated condition now. Moreover, I felt so belonged to the place. This was definitely more than a dream.

Siddharth's POV

"You're just overthinking Anjali.." I tried convincing her, myself confused with my dreams which resembled a lot to hers. Was it only about dreams? Or maybe we both were overthinking of our project. To distract the tough situation, we decided to have a break, of course after seeking Avi sir's permission. He would return a week later, he said.

This was the time I started rethinking about my love life. It was such a long time since I had a proper look at her! We planned a dinner at a restaurant and then a movie.

She dressed in a cute, simple frock and left her gorgeous locks behind. I chose my all time favorite, grey.

All through the drive, her face reflected tension. She clearly responded to each word I spoke, but her mind wandered elsewhere.

We reached the restaurant. She only played with the food, showing least interest in having it. Placing my palm on hers, I asked, "what is it...?"

Anjali's POV

I came back to the reality when I felt a warm hold. "What is it..?" He asked. I know I was ruining this break, but I couldn't help thinking about the strange verses I just had a look before a few hours. "It's just that... I am not able to come out of all these strange happenings..." I managed to reply. He smiled the world's best smile and comforted me, saying I just had to break the flow of thoughts. And when I did, I realised I had actually agreed to go on a dinner date with this Tom!

As I relished the ice cream, the patter of the rain drops on the window caught my attention. "It's raining!" I exclaimed. "So what!?" He replied calmly, focusing more on his Black Current scoop. "We aren't going to find any taxis to go back!" I said. Hearing no reply from him, I decided to shut up.

After paying the bill, we walked out. The fragrance of the fresh mud soothed my breathing. He casually held my palm, waking me to the rain. I was about to run back to shelter when he wrapped me in a tight hold. "Have you enjoyed the rain before?" He asked, his eyes sinking in mine.

The road was totally empty and the green shrubs had already created a magical atmosphere. Playing a romantic music on his phone, he grabbed my waist and began dancing. The light music, the dominating rhythm of the rain and his eyes that were glued to mine, all made my cheeks heat up.

After moving our legs for quite a lot of minutes, he came close, his hands moving up my cheek. Now I could feel my entire body burning. I closed my eyes as I felt his long nose rub against mine. His dripping hair seemed to drop electric shocks on my face. Just when I felt his warm breath nearing, a loud horn disturb the atmosphere. "Taxi is here!" He chirped as he pushed me in before himself having a seat. This man had a really fantastic control over his heart!
