Back to Town
P.o.V. Sans
I watched Cherry as she buried her face into my jacket and sobbed. It broke my heart to see her so, broken. Chara was back and it was ready to break us down using Cherry, even if it destroyed her.
I pet her hair softly and let her cry on me for a couple minutes. "Chara showed me everything..." She said softly. "He showed me my worst fears, my nightmares, my memories with new enhanced fear..."
"Then let me help you Cherry, let me help you get over Chara and back with us." I sounded like I was pleading.
Cherry pushed me away and attempted to smile. "Watch over them, okay? Don't let anyone die while I'm gone." She said quietly.
I reached out as she vanished, barely missing her as she teleported. Anger laced throughout me and I felt like I needed to break something. I need to get Chara out of Cherry's head. We all knew she wouldn't let us help her, so we'll have to trick her into it. I pulled out my phone and dialed Alphys. "S-Sans? What's up? Didn't you j-just leave?"
"I just saw Cherry. We... spoke, sorta. I don't think we're gonna find her without help."
"We'll try our best Sans, don't worry!"
"Let me explain..."

P.o.V. Cherry
I woke up with my eyes nearly swollen shut and my hair resembling a rat's nest. I grabbed two small things of shampoo and conditioner and walked to one of the bathrooms.
The house was cold due to a few holes in the roof but that was today's goal, fix the house. Geeby followed at my heels until I locked him out of the bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror, I was actually appalled. I looked like a circus freak gone wrong, like a sad clown's rejected cousin.
I turned the knob for hot warm and watched as it started to pour, despite there not being a real water source. Gotta love magic. Steam filled the room and I stripped away my clothes, replacing them with a towel as the shower heated up. I heard whimpers outside the door and I opened it to look at my black-boned friend. He sat by himself at the door, waiting for me to come out. I sighed and copied Geeby's image in my magic. Another Gaster Blaster appeared, looking dazed as if not expecting to be summoned. I grinned at the two and said happily, "Okay Geeby, stop being a bum and play with your brother. I'll name him, Jinkies!"
The blaster looked at me then Geeby, and lunged at Geeby, making the house shake. "Hey! Don't knock the house down while I'm in here!"
Rolling my eyes, I closed the door and stepped into the shower. Layers of dirt and grime fell off of my skin and the scent of cherry blossom shampoo filled the air. I massaged the conditioner into my hair when I heard a door slam.
"Hey! If you're going to roughhouse, do it in dog form!"
The banging continued and I growled. Wrapping a towel around me, I stamped out of the bathroom and looked around the living room. "Can you st-"
My eyes fell on a pair of monsters in black ski masks. Their eyes widened at the sight of me in a towel and they dropped my pack. My temper flared and I got the familiar blindness in my left eye. "You have 3 seconds to drop my stuff and leave." I growled.
The bigger of the two, probably one of the monsters that likes to flex, laughed and sized himself to me. "And what are you gonna do when you're not even dressed properly?"
I snorted. "I can kill you in less than a minute, both of you actually. Have you heard of the fights with Sans?" I asked.
They went rigid and I laughed. After monsters had been freed and Frisk told the world about his adventures, both possessed and peaceful, everyone knew just how powerful Sans was.
"What about Sans?" The smaller one asked.
I laughed. "I can go toe to slipper with Sans and win. 3"
They grabbed my stuff and started for the door. "2"
Just as they reached my door, I raised my hand and black encompassed their bodies. "1"
They screamed as I lifted them and through them out the door. My stuff was dropped and laid, scattered on the ground. They sent me pleading looks as I lifted them again. I wound my arm back like a pitcher, their bodies following my movements, and I threw them towards Snowdin. "AND STAY OUT!" I screamed after them.
I was still in a towel, but I watched as they sailed over the trees, just barely missing the side of the cliff and making it over. Geeby and Jinkies grabbed my things in their large mouths and brought them into my house. I shivered in the cold and walked back inside. Maybe a bath would be nice.

I fell asleep in the bath and was greeted again by the cold smile of Chara. "Another round Cherry? Wow, you're tough."
I scoffed and looked around me. "What's the trick this time? Make me live in a memory where Sans is my lover/worst enemy?"
Chara faked a gasp. "Lover? I had no idea you shared such feelings."
I grimaced as my cheeks portrayed my embarrassment. As Chara keeled over, I felt my anger rise in my stomach. "What the hell is your problem?!" I snapped. "Why do you feel the need to make my life a living hell?"
Chara gave me an innocent look and cocked his head to the side. "Oh what do you mean Cherry? I'm just a kid."
I laughed. "Kid? Wow, and you think I'm an idiot. It's hard to believe you were ever even human."
Chara smiled. "Thank you Cherry! That's such a nice thing to say. Humanity is such a hopeless race. Monsters are so much more agreeable."
I growled at him. "What happened that made you so evil? I know Toriel raised you, and Asgore and Asriel. What happened to the good they taught you?"
Chara's face fell. "Don't say their names. You don't know the half of it."
"Then explain."
"Why should I?"
I refraned from screaming and pulling out my hair. "Dear God why are you so aggravating?!"
"Because you have a short temper." Chara teased me.
"And whose fault is that?" I asked accusingly.
Chara smiled and pointed his two thumbs at himself. "And it's good work too!"
I sighed and looked at Chara with hatred. "Why won't you leave me alone? I'm not technically human. With no soul, I'm kinda useless."
Chara shook his head and looked at me with his chilling red eyes. "Having no soul makes you perfect for me! It's like puzzle pieces! One of us a husk with no material spirit, and the other a spirit with no material body. Together we would be SO powerful."
I rolled my eyes. "You're a freaking megalomaniac."
Chara snickered. "Sans calls me that too."
I grimaced and sat down on the obsidian floor. "So what now? You apparently don't feel like torturing me this time, so what is it?"
Chara shrugged and started twirling his knife around his hand. "I don't know. I'm not always going to torture you ya know. If your mind is completely gone you'll destroy your body, and I need your body."
We sat in quiet until I broke it with a select word. "Explain."
Chara looked at me in confusion before realizing my words. "Why do you wanna know?" He asked.
I shrugged. "I might as well if you're gonna follow me around mentally."
Chara crossed his arms and glared at me. "Yeah, as if I'd share my life story."
I laughed. "Well, I know a few things. I know you're the child of Toriel and Asgore. Your brother was Asriel and he's now a soulless flower."
I looked at Chara as he stiffened at the facts I threw his way. "I know you have an unstable obsession with killing everyone too. And that my knife used to belong to you. But the question is why? Why are you so kill-y if you were raised in such a happy, accepting family?"
In a flash Chara was gone and the blade slid against my throat. The dream drifted away and I woke up in the tub, candles surrounding me, floating in black hazes. At least it wasn't a friend this time.
I sighed and drained the bath, dressing in a new tank top and jeans. Geeby and Jinkies were sound asleep on the floor as I walked in. The clock read 1:23 but I couldn't tell if it was am or pm. Either way, how long was I in the bath?! The crooks were here at around 8am and I'm only now waking up?!
I dug a protein bar from my bag and ate it happily. Deciding it was time to go out and do something, I left the house and started cutting the logs using my shadowy blade from the battle with Flowey. Gently I placed them over the hole in the roof and packed mud into the cracks. Now snow wouldn't be drifting into the living room at least. I looked around the treeless plain in front of me and a smiled crossed my face. I set up some spare timbers at the opposite end of the field from me and put my back against the house.
A momentary blindness filled me with satisfaction. Red lined bones surrounded me and I aimed at the timber. With all my will, I willed the bones forward at the timber. Almost all of them missed, and those that made contact didn't get all the way through.
I growled and repeated the process, starting to do it daily over a week. Soon it was a daily thing, at 1 I would go out and set up my targets and practice my attacks until 3-4, depending on if Geeby or Jinkies wanted to walk that day.
About two weeks later, I was actually hitting the target consistently. A howl pierced the air as I watched a bone clear a clean hole in the timber. "Whoop! Yeah! That's me! I did it!" I cheered as I danced around.
My Blaster buddies pounced on me and licked my face with glowing tongues. "Come on guys, don't be so weird. You act like I've never hit them before." I laughed.
They rolled off me and I sat up. I jumped up and pumped my fist in the air. As I raised my fist, I heard sizzling magic and I looked at my Blasters. They both faced upward and shot beams of red towards the ceiling. Panicking, I grabbed their muzzles and they stopped. "Guys, you're gonna give us away!" I nagged.
A large boom overhead shook the ground and I looked up to see the Underground ceiling racing towards us. Acting quickly, I pushed Geeby and Jinkies back into their pocket dimension and raced towards the house. I watched in dismay as chunks of rock and compacted earth collapsed my home. Two weeks and I ruined my house. I'm an awesome person.
A string of curses to vile for Wattpad spilled from my throat progressively getting loud enough to the point that birds were looking at me like I was crazy. Walking glumly, I searched the rubble for anything I could salvage. Luck had saved half of my room so a majority of my things were safe or just harmed to a point of no importance. Sighing heavily, turning quickly into another roar of rage, I collected my things and stuffed them into bags.
I could hearing a version of sirens from not to far away and I bolted. Apparently hitting the ceiling of the Underground was cause for panic. Who'd have guessed?
It hadn't dawned on me you could walk angrily until that moment. My feet stamped so hard it left imprints in the land under the foot of snow. Bitch mode activated. The artificial night started to set in and I growled. Though my gold was low, I'd have no choice.
I teleported to Snowdin and darted into the inn. "Hello traveler! Welcome-"
I slammed eighty gold on the counter and held out my hand. "I need to get inside before a certain someone sees me. I promise I'm not a fugitive, but this person... I don't want them finding me. Just give me a key."
The bunny woman looked confused by my rashness but handed over the key and I nodded my head. "Thanks..."
I ran upstairs and found my room, throwing my things on to my bed and flopping face down. After screaming into my pillow for a solid three minutes, my phone rang in a chirpy tone and I groaned. Snapping the phone to my ear, I growled into the phone. "What do you want?" I snapped harshly.
There was a moment of silence, then a sniffle. "I'm sorry Cherry... I'm interrupting something aren't I?"
I recognized the child's voice despite how much the words sounded like Napstablook's own. "No! No no no.... Sorry Li'l' Nugget. I'm just in a predicament."
Frisk sniffled again on the phone, but I could sense his spirits rise. "When are you getting back?" He asked.
My face fell and I laughed in a fake confidence. "I'll be back. You won't even notice I'm gone." I reassured him, despite my not knowing myself.
"But I have noticed! How can I not notice my sister disappearing so shortly after she got back?" He whined.
My heart broke in two and I smiled with quivering lips. "Aw, Frisk! You think of me as a sister..."
"Mhm! Just like I'm your little brother!"
I laughed quietly and took a breath, stress seeming to wane as I spoke to Frisk. "I miss ya buddy."
Frisk was quiet a moment before speaking. "Then why don't you come back?" He asked.
An elongated sigh escaped me and I ran a hand through my fire colored hair. "I would if I could Frisk. Believe me, I want to. But this is for the best of all the basket."
Frisk giggled. "Fruit Basket? Stop being a fruit loop!"
I laughed and countered. "Well, I have been a bit loopy lately. Maybe I've gone fruit-bat shit crazy!"
(It's a stretch, I know.)
Frisk giggled despite my terrible puns. "Sans would love those..." He said quietly.
My throat closed up and I stopped laughing as I remembered our last meeting. "Has Sans told you anything yet?" I asked cautiously.
"No, but Papyrus gave us your letters. Mom cried a lot when she read hers, and I cried when I read mine. Undyne almost burned down her new house because she was so mad you were so vague. Everyone was so distraught."
I smiled weakly and tears brimmed my cheeks. "Oh, don't you all cry over me. It'll make it harder."
Frisk was silent again. "Harder for who? Us... Or you?"
My breath hitched and I felt fat tears escape my eyes. "I love you Li'l' nugget."
"I love you too Cherry."
I hung up the phone and turned into my pillow, this time my screaming replaced by shaking sobs.
