Back to Life
Sans and I picked up a phone and a cheap case, leaving the store promptly. Kid bid you goodbye as you left, making you smile. Suddenly wanting that companionship of a small person, I summoned Geeby to my side. Sans chuckled as he trotted around me happily.
"Toriel's gonna kill you for using your magic ya know." He mused.
I shrugged. "Been there, survived that."
I snickered at my joke as Sans rolled his eyes. "So, any new encounters?" He asked.
Briefly I thought about Chara acting so oddly but I decided it wasn't worth worrying Sans. "Nah. Error was the last person- uh, monster I saw that I could touch on the physical plane. Then there was my parents but that's pretty much it."
"Oh yeah, I forgot you saw your parents last night. What was that about?" He asked, a more serious undertone to his voice.
My face flushed as I recalled the panic I put them in. "I'm really sorry about that Sans. After I returned your's and Papyrus's clothing I was about to leave from my room at Toriel's when I saw the figure. It was all misty and cloud-like. It felt like I was supposed to follow it. So I followed the apparition, things lead to things and I saw my parents."
Remembering them smiling down at me one last time made a sad smile appear on my face. "I wish that wasn't the last time I'd see them...."
Sans made a passing motion and put his arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry about seeing your parents. I know for a fact they're watching us right now, probably vexing me for dating you without asking them."
I laughed. "Yeah, my mom's pulling out ALL the curses. You'll be a wart-riddled toad by the time she's done."
Sans grinned and pulled me closer. "I'd rather be a road than never have the chance to be with you."
A blush painted my cheeks as Sans pressed his teeth to my lips. I grinned like a maniac and tried not to giggle like a stereotypical Japanese schoolgirl. "Sans, your awesome. I don't think I could've asked for a better first boyfriend."
He pulled his head away and stuck out his tongue. A small shriek made me jump as I leaped from Sans' arm and looked around for the source. Geeby was as surprised as I was, but reacted more like a confused dog than a pet-form of my Gaster Blaster.
My eyes landed on a pink stiletto-ed, black mini skirt and tiny tube top wearing, highly powdered, brown haired girl. She looked at me with delight, then turned sour when her gaze fell to Sans. She had a posse of girls dressed in slightly less flashy clothes. She shimmied her way over to me.
"OMG! You're Cherry!" She squealed in a shrill voice.
I nodded. "That's my name, don't wear it out."
She laughed obnoxiously. "OMG you are soooo funny! What're you doing here?"
Sans gave me an unsure look and I shrugged. "I was actually just leaving UnderTech. My boyfriend Sans here wanted to replace the phone I lost awhile back."
Sans wrapped an arm around me and looked at the gaggle of girls. "Yo," he said cooly.
I could feel how tense and weird he felt about talking to the strangers. Wanting to spare him, I tried to cut the conversation. "Well, it's nice to have run into someone but Sans and I have some other things to get, so-"
"Cherry girl! You should totally ditch the bf and come with us shopping!"
I grinned, trying to mask my annoyance. "Sorry ladies but I want to spend today with my boyfriend, not some strangers. I haven't been out in public for half a year and I'm more comfortable with Sans."
She pursed her overly pink lips and looked at me over her sunglasses. "You know I could totally set you up with a nice HUMAN guy. Monsters are no good. They should've stayed Underground."
I was stunned into silence. After three years I expected most of the anti-monster people to thin out completely. Sans started to move towards them but I put my hand against his chest to stop him. Squaring up to the girl, I felt my left eye momentarily blind. The air thickened and the expression on the girls face dropped.
"What? What did I say?" She muttered.
I fixed my gaze and she shuddered. "Okay, let's get two things straight. Firstly... Do you see the fire around my eye? Not effects. Do you see the precious Gaster Blaster I keep at my side? Genuine thing. My entire existence is based around what the monsters have done for me, despite the fact I'm human. You could consider me a monster and I would take it as the highest of compliments. Secondly, if you ever try to tell me you can find me any human better than Sans, you're fucking crazy. This monster right here is the most important person in my life and if you ever so much as consider that you could find someone better... you're going to have a very... bad... time..."
The girl fell backwards, trembling. My eye returned to normal and I snapped my fingers. The girl flinched at the simple action but I was merely summoning Geeby to my side once again. Sans looked astonished by it and started to chuckle quietly.
"Cherry, that was awesome. But you kinda stole my line."
I shrugged and wrapped my arm around his boney waist. "I rocked that line and you know it."
Sans rolled his eyes again and planted a kiss on my cheek. "Yeah, ya did. Your like my adorable little demon avenger."
"Aw Sans, you know how to make me blush." I retorted.
"What can I say? I'm as good with romance as I am with puns."
I faked a look of sympathy. "Oh Sans, I don't think your terrible with love!"
Sans was confused a moment but soon got it. He attacked me, tickling my sides aggressively. I laughed to the point I couldn't breath.
"HA HA HA! Stop! HA! Mercy! Mercy!" I begged.
"I will avenge my jokes!" Sans cried.
"Drama king!" I called.
He leaned down to my ear and whispered. "Does that make you my queen?" He flirted.
I blushed a shader more red than my hair. "Sans, people!" I whisper-shouted.
"I don't care. That just means everyone will know you're mine."
I giggled and sat up. "Sorry Blue Bones, but it's about time we got going. Before we know it Mettaton will be-"
"Darlings~!"
I laughed. "As if on cue, Mettaton appeared." I mused.
Sans groaned and rolled off of me. He just got me on my feet when Mettaton was at our side. "Cherry darling, you should have told me your were out and about already!"
"Sorry Metta! This is a new development to me too. I was just gonna lounge around home when Sans noticed my phone-less-ness. He brought me to the mall to replace it."
"Oh how sweet!"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sans-ational." Sans joked.
I rolled my eyes and groaned. "Why Sans?"
"What? Do you not find my jokes humerus?"
"Sans, I can almost hear Papyrus screaming from here."
He laughed. "You love my puns."
"In doses."
