6- prophecy and choices
(Before we start let me just say really quickly. Happy birthday Annabeth Chase. Make sure that Persassy keeps you happy today or he's gonna have to have face me. Ok now on with the actual story!)
Rachel, a.k.a the oracle opened her mouth to speak. Layers of green smoke poured out. It looked like the fumes of spray paint. Then, she started to speak.
"The old seven will return,
With three new who will learn.
And old enemy Rose again,
Who's true enemy is a women.
New Heroes fallen to deaths pits,
And a battle for a soul with wits.
A sacrifice shall be made,
As they make their last raid.
They will leave with ten,
And return with two more than seven."
With that she finishes and Nico and I look at each other. Obviously we were both really nervous about this. We walk back down to see Chiron and I tell him the entire prophecy that Rachel told us.
"I see. Well I'll Iris Message the rest of the seven that are in camp Jupiter, and I suppose you are two of the three new demigods. You can pick one more person to-."
"We're going to take my half sister, Caileigh." I said, cutting him off.
"Oh sorry. I will let you continue." I said nervously
"Well anyways, I suppose you should be leaving by tomorrow then. Where will you be going?" He asks.
"I think we should go to the underworld. It does have to do with death." Nico said.
"Alright then, you leave tomorrow at dawn so get some sleep tonight." He said and walked, well trotted, since he is half horse, away.
We both left and I ran to tell the news. I walked into the Apollo cabin and looked around for Caileigh. I spotted her sitting on her bed.
"Hey, Caileigh!" I called out to her.
"Huh?" She said. Then, she looked up and spotted me.
"Oh hey, (y/n). What's up?" She said.
"The sky." I said bluntly.
She laughed at my bad joke. She is always so bright and happy. Then, she shook her head and rolled her eyes, but still had a smile on her face.
"You sound like Leo."She said.
"What do you mean I sound like Leo?" I asked.
"I will tell you later, but first tell me why you came to see me, and before you ask it was really obvious that you wanted to tell me something cause you have an adventurous look in your eyes." She said.
"Wow." I replied.
"I know." She said, and giggled. "Anyways, spill. Tell me what's going on.
"Well, I got a quest from Rachel." I said and told her the prophecy.
As I told her about the prophecy (besides the fact that she was going), she had this yearning look in her eyes. It was obvious she wanted to go with me and travel. I know she wants to leave this camp for a little while and it was probably because she wanted to do something more with her life. Well we both knew that she was yearning to go anyways.
"So, who is your lucky third person?" She asked, that look still blazing brightly in her eyes.
"Well Caileigh, today is your lucky day. You are the lucky third person!" I said.
She had a wide grin on her face and hugged me tightly. Picking her was definitely a good choice to have made. She has so many valuable trusting skills.
I made her happy and plus Caileigh is tall, strong, confident, positive, and to me; she is a perfect older sister in general. I love her so much(I promise you that this is not incest (how do you spell it?) I am not that crazy and it's just weird to me. I don't like it).
"We leave tomorrow at dawn." I said.
"Oh, I'm so excited!" She said and squealed.
Obviously it was a good thing I chose her to come with the rest of us. She's going to really useful against monsters and she's a good healer. Seriously, I've seen her fight and heal before. She's so good at both of them!
I leave the cabin in search of the ghost King. I finally find him leaning against the hades cabin with a serious face. He looks so cute like that, but nows not the time to fangirl.
"Hey Neeks." I said.
"Don't call me that." He growled, trying to look scary and failing badly. At least to me.
"Aw. But I want to. Anyways, can we go in your cabin so I can talk to you.. Privately." I said.
"Sure." He said and shrugged.
I know he is not one to show emotion in public. We walked into the hades cabin. I saw Nico's bunk. I could tell it was his cause he carved our initials in the wood of the wall with a plus between them and a heart around all of it,
"Is everything alright?" He asked.
"Yeah. Well not exactly. I keep getting these nightmares at night a-and..." I couldn't finish.
I started crying. Great, I bet he thinks I'm weak. But to my surprise he came over to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him.
"It's ok. You can stay here if you'd like." He said.
Did he just ask me to sleep with him? My cheeks turned red and I looked at him. Actually I really wanted to. I knew he was going to protect me.
"Y-yeah. I'd love that actually." I said.
"Ok." He replied and kissed my forehead.
I didn't know how he was so calm when it came to this. I was a blushing mess during all this. He laid me down on his bed and got in next to me. I knew he was glad for me to be here with him.
He pulled the covers over us and pulled my closer to his relaxed body like the protective boyfriend he was. I was blushing a lot, but I didn't mind. This was unsurprisingly really comfortable.
I'm actually glad I chose to stay in hades cabin. I looked up at Nico again. His peaceful sleeping face brought butterflies to my stomach. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
