Tick Tock

Every life starts with a clock the moment you enter this world,
It's cataloged,
And every moment after you live on borrowed time,
Not knowing when times up so we live life to the fullest

Travel our magical journeys,
That we deem as our own,
Live the dreams that we set out for ourselves,
Trying not to think about the ticking of that clock

Yet in the back of our minds we wonder when will it stop,
What if today is my day,
For our life isn't eternal,
We're doomed to have fun and mourn over passings

Think about it who's never known pain,
Who's never laid awake at night crying,
Who's never smiled or laughed,
Yet had a tragic moment shatter their reality

Everyone in this world has at one point,
Been susceptible to at least one harsh virtue,
But you never think about your clock,
Tick tock, tick tock

The choice is yours,
Make the best of the life you live,
And treat everyone fairly,
Or live your life in misery doing wrong to others,

Choices either lengthen or shorten your time,
So if I'm deciding I'm choosing to just be me,
Until my clock runs out,
I'm not perfect and I was never intended to be

I was made with flaws like everyone else,
I just embrace mine and treasure my being here,
Knowing my clock could've stopped years ago,
So my gift to you is my words

This is my virtue to not think about my clock,
Tick tock, tick tock,
I'll leave a piece of me for someone to grab,
Hoping to lengthen the time that they have in their existence

Tick tock, tick tock,
Think about your life and the choices you've made,
Are you happy or can you be better,
Answer that for yourself just know that we aren't here forever

So what legacy will you leave,
For someone to pattern themselves after,
To walk in your footsteps of all the good you did,
I'm just trying to make you aware of the clock,
Tick tock, tick tock.
