Sans' misfortune

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(((Third perspective)))
Sans bursts through the castle doors and marches to the kings office, a crumpled paper in his pocket. Rage overwhelmed the skeleton man, staff members watching in confusion as he stormed along the red carpets, past guards and nearly knocking a maid over. She curses at him, but he ignores, too focused on the task at hand.
Once he reaches the door, he removes his hood, allowing it to rest on the back of his waving coat as he bursts through the door with a roar.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THIS, ASGORE?!!!"
"Why, hello Sans. How are you?"
"Cut the crap. Why did I get THIS in the mail?!" He chucks the crumpled up paper at him. Asgore catches it and unravels the page, reading it wit a smile. He chuckles lighty, looking back up to Sans. "It is only an invitation the party we will be throwing. What is the matter with it?"
"THAT." Sans takes a slender finger and points to the bottom of the description.
Entertainment....
" The fuck does that mean?!" he shouts angrily. "Well... Gaster said that you and Papyrus had decent voices...So he figured he would sign the two of you up song karaoke for the Christmas event being held in the capital. "
Sans face dusted blue, not like it did when Frisk teased him or when he was around her in general, but when he mad. He couldn't believe Gaster would mention that! It was humiliating! He only ever sang with Papyrus because he was his brother and he loved him. Now that is being used against him.
Sans lets out a long sigh "Look. Asgore, I'm sorry but I ain't gonna-"
Just then, Papyrus bursts into the room, Frisk on his shoulders with Asriel following behind, panting for breath. Frisk is dropped to the ground and she and Papyrus both run and hug Sans.
"Sans!" they sang in unison.
"Hey- guys---!" he gasps for breath. Papyrus joyously celebrates "Oh brother! I just got an invitation to the Christmas party next week! I was even asked to perform! And It said you were too!!!" He laughed his "NYHEHEHEHE!" and squealed with joy.
Asgore chimes in, raining hell on Sans from a distance. "Why, that's right Papyrus! He was actually here to say how honored he was to accept the offer himself." he sent Sans a mischievous smile, eyes narrowed. His mind read "Nowhere to run, my boy"
Papyrus let go of Sans and allowed Fisk to take his hands with as much joy as his brother had, Asriel running over with his breath back. She smiled and got on her tippy toes to meet his eyes.
"I didn't know you could sing, Sans!" She laughed, forcing a blush to hint his cheekbones with frustration as he looked away from her, staring at Asgore, pleading for anything to replace his 'sentence'. He'd rather polish and dust the entire castle than sing in front of anyone, not even Frisk. Best friend or not, he would just find himself embarrassed in the long run. He couldn't believe how excited she was to begin with.
Frisk still stood on her toes, holding Sans by his hands. She laughed and flicked his head.
"OW! BabyBones, what the heck?!"
"Haha! You turned away, it was the perfect time to get back at you!"
"For what exactly?!" he growls, frustration drenching his voice.
"For never saying 'thank you' for me sticking my neck out for you the other day, idiot."
Ohhh...The hangover thing. He shrugs while she stands there, laughing at his bewilderment. Frisk continues, smiling "I can't wait to hear you and Paps sing together! I'm so excited! Why didn't you tell me you could sing?" she seemed like a small child, bouncing around with only Sans to keep her in one place.
Asriel places a paw on Frisk's shoulder, grinning and keeping her from bouncing any longer.
 "So you ARE going? I thought you said it would be a drag, Sibs. What changed your mind..?~"
At this point, Frisk has become a good lier, and somehow manages to hide her blush.
"What are you talking a-goat, Azzy? I am not fur I ever said that I wasn't going."
Sans does his best to muffle a laugh while Asriel lowers his brows into a frown, lips tighten as he stares at her.
"Seriously...? Your really doing this?"
" You better believe it, Az."
He facepalms "This can't be real-... Oh god."
Frisk smirks "Oh, but this is..."
" Wait. Wait Frisk, Frisk no, that isn't what I-"
"ASRIEL as it gets~!"
Asgore slams his hands down on the table and stands, briskly stepping out of the room, having had enough of his daughter's puns and his colleagues horrible influence on her. The door is left wide open, the king can be heard groaning from down the hall, even over Sans' booming laughter. Sans picks up Frisk and scruffs up her hair.
"I fucking love this kid!" he wheezes, still laughing his head off. Frisk joins in the laughter but doesn't say anything. She just pretends what she'd just heard was never said.
We're just friends. Just friends.
Once everyone has left the room, Frisk stands in vacant silence. She runs her fingers through her hair, unknotting as much of it as possible. Her heart aches as she thinks. Thinking back to when things seemed simple in the world, even when she was being persecuted, on the run with a strange skeleton monster whom seemed to be the only world she'd had ever. Even if that was the case then, it was different now, somehow, it hurt a hell of a lot more.
(((Flashback)))
"Mr. Skeleton!" Frisk shouts, waving her hands high in the air so they can be seen above the echo flowers. Sans looks around frantically, only able to hear her at the moment. He cursed her short stature.
"K..Kiddo? The hell, where did you run off to now?!" he starts to stand up, his socket burning and covered in a soft, dirty cloth. He places a finger there, shrieking at the touch. Frisk jumps and rushes to him. "Mr.Skeleton!!!"
She grabs his hand and pulls him, tears welling up in her eyes. Her voice trembled " I'm sowwy... You got hurt when the big doggies threw the stick at chew..." She sobbed "It's my fault!!"
Frisk gripped tightly onto Sans' hand, wailing and refusing to let him go anywhere. He sighs with guilt, feeling his heart being ripped out of his ribcage because he made his tiny friend cry.
"C'mon Kid.. It ain't that bad! See?" He kneels down and removes the cloth from his socket, doing his damndest not to scream in agony. He opened it wide and blinked several times.
"See Babybones? Nothin' to be sorry for!"
"Your lying!" She screamed, catching Sans off guard. She quickly grabs Sans by his jacket and pulls him towards her into a hug, bawling into his short and soaking it.
"It's my fault! It's my fault! I'm so sowwy Mr. Skeleton! I'm so so so so sowwy!!!"
"Babybones. Stop that. Right now. I'm fine."
"No your not! I know your not!" there was this surness in the girl's voice... It made Sans question her. "What makes you say that, Babybones?"
She looks up at him, one eye squinted, he notices. She says in a serious tone, as serious as a six year old can sound at least.
"Because I can feel it! And it hurts really bad!"
Sans jaw drops and he swears he is about to puke, a queasy, sick feeling of pity and disbelief building up in him. He grits his teeth and holds onto Frisk tightly. Even if he knows it's just sympathetic pains, he still has a bad feeling in his gut...
Especially when he could feel his socket being healed with a reddish aura, golden flowers growing around he and the human child as if by magic.
What scared him even more was the fact that Frisk had no idea she was even doing it. And if she did know,  he doubted she was even trying.
