Prologue

Lucas stood there, back against the room, eyes dead set on whatever was out there-beyond the window. And as he looked, the thought of him not seeing his future past his 20th year alive made him shiver. The thought of finding the prophecised girl made him want to escape from his father's tight grasp and leave.
He was lost in his thoughts till he heard footsteps, loud, but women like, footsteps that belonged to someone who could lead a country.
"Son?".
And as he turned, he faced his mother. She was a well rounded women, not to curvy and had wide, blue eyes. Something he had not inhereted. She was the type of queen that made everyone have hope. Made him have hope.
"Yes mother?"
She looked him in the eye, a cold stare glaring back at him.
"I understand you are desperate to find the girl. Desperate enough to kill everyone until you find her. But she won't turn up with you thinking about her and glaring at a window" he rolled his eyes at her comment " and I think it is best if you rest. Stop thinking about her. She will show".

That was another secret about the prophecy, she had to come to him. But what if she was in another world, a lifelife for that matter.
He sighed and put his hand on his temples. He should listen to his mother but he couldn't. He kept worrying. His mother would never understand.
As he heard her quietly leaving the room, he turned.
"Mother, is there anyway you could possibly convince father to let me wander into the human land? Serch for my wife and the prophecised girl."
His mother stopped and turned, her face pale.
"I-I could try. But I can't persuade him. You know how he is." She stammered.
Lucas's father might act all kind to the town's people and all his followers. Because, frankly, his job was to impress his kingdom. Make them believe he was fit to be king. But around his family, it was different.
He never physically got rough with Lucas's mother, but yelled and said dirty words to her. She was scared of him.
Kings were supposed to be a model for the heirs. And Lucas took it as his duty to make sure his mother knew he would never be like him. And when it came to Lucas facing his father, it was also a different story. He wouldn't yell, no, because he did far worse. He would threaten to beat him. And if he didn't believe him, his father would whip him.
As he came out of his thoughts, he remembered his mother was still there, waiting for his reply.
"If you don't want to talk to father, I can. I understand his way with women. How he can't talk correctly to them. Makes a show of his arrogant ways".
His mother nodded and left down the right castle hallway. It was now his mission to find this girl. To talk to his father. To make everything right again. This was his journey alone.
