"Hubby ? Sorry . Hubby ? Sorry . Hubby ? Sorry ."

Louis couldn't stop staring at the ring . It's been two days since Harry proposed , and the new jewelry around his finger was still giving him butterflies .

Harry turned to lay on his back next to Louis , as the two were tanning on the beach in their short swimming trunks . "Remember to flip over every short while so you don't get a Ross-tan ."

"I know what I'm doing , Hubby , I've been tanning for years ." Louis smiled into the crook of his elbow , as he laid on the towel on his front .

"When can we tell everyone ?" Harry asked ; the two kept their engagement a secret for the past two days , as they wanted to enjoy each other's new titles for a bit .

"Today , tomorrow . Doesn't matter . I can't wait to tell my nan , to be honest , she's going to be so happy ." Louis lifted his head up , chin leaning on his forearm , "I want to get you a ring too , today if possible , so we can show both our rings together ."

"Sounds like a plan ." Harry smiled , "Want to go shower and head to the city to look for a shop ?"

Harry parked their rented car in the nearest lot , grabbing Louis' hand as they walked down the streets .

"Can we stop at Starbucks ?" Louis nodded his head towards the shop ahead of them , "Want iced tea ."

"Sure ." Harry walked them to the shop , he ordered Louis a sweetened iced tea and iced vanilla coffee for himself , along with two chocolate chip cookies . He paid and went to wait at the counter , turning his head to where Louis was sitting .

Louis was sat at a table , talking to a young kid who came up to him with his mother .

"I had an accident a few years ago , and the doctors had to remove my leg to save my life ." Louis explained to the boy , who earlier asked about his prosthetic .

"Did it hurt ?"

"No , the doctors gave me a special drink and it made me sleep and not feel a thing ." Louis shook his head , "They were very nice , saved my life ."

Harry walked over to them with his and Louis' drinks , and a small paper bag with their cookies . Louis smiled and took his iced tea , "Harry , meet Bentley . Bentley , this is Harry ."

"Hello , nice meeting you ." Harry held his hand out for a high five , the kid , Bentley , gave him a high five .

"Louis is so cool ." Bentley told Harry , making the two of them laugh . Harry nodded , "He is , isn't he ?"

"Smart lad , what can I say ." Louis grinned .

Bentley's mother told Bentley to say goodbye as they had to leave , the couple waved goodbye at the two and left the shop .

"I love kids , they're so great ." Louis wrapped his hand around Harry's bicep , "I think I made up my mind about what to study . Better late than never ."

"So you're going with being a kindergarten teacher ? Had a feeling you'd pick it eventually ." Harry smiled and held the paper bag over to Louis , Louis took one of the cookies out , "Yeah , I love kids and teaching them looks like a really fun job ."

"You'll be the best teacher ." Harry smiled , "You're amazing with kids ."

Louis smiled and held his cookie up in front of Harry's mouth , Harry took a bite and then sipped on his iced coffee .

"What ring were you thinking of getting ?" Harry asked , Louis bit his lower lip , "I - well , I don't have a specific idea , but I guess - when I see one I'll know I want it ." He squeezed his hand around Harry's bicep , "How did you pick mine ?"

Harry smiled , "I bought it about four , five months ago . --"

"What ?? How did I not find it ? Where did you hide it ?" Louis' jaw dropped , Harry grinned at him and moved his arm to wrap around his waist , "Hid it in the laundry drawer in the dresser in our room , where the cleaning products are . You never open that drawer ."

Louis huffed , Harry squeezed him and kissed the side of his head , "I was out in the city running errands , and I've already walked into a few jewelry shops during that month . So I saw this shop I didn't go into yet and walked in there , said I was looking for an engagement ring . The woman behind the desk said she had this sixth sense and asked to see a picture of you , and then she showed me a few rings . Honestly she nailed them all , but only this one caught my eye ." Harry grabbed Louis' hand , kissing his engagement ring .

"I love the ring ." Louis nodded , "Want yours to match mine in a way , but still be unique ."

"Want me to go into the shops with you or you want to pick the ring on your own ?"

Louis bit his lower lip , "I'll go alone . Want to keep it a surprise ."

"Okay . I'll do some gift shopping for our families and friends while you do that ." Harry squeezed his side .

Louis nodded across the street , "Here's a shop , I'll try to see if I like anything there ." He turned to Harry and stretched up to kiss his lips quickly , "Don't miss me too much ."

"Already do ." Harry pecked his cheek , smiling as he watched him walking away to the nearest crossover .

The two met up thirty minutes later , Louis pouted at Harry as they walked closer to each other , "Didn't find my special ring there ."

"It's alright , love , it took me seven stores to find the one ." Harry smiled , one of his hands going to Louis' waist , "Want to keep looking ?"

Louis nodded , then looked down at the two bags in Harry's other hand , "What did you buy ?"

"Found two gardening books for my mum and this shirt that has a front pocket for cats , think she'll like it ." Harry smiled , "This bag is actually for Phoebe and Daisy , matching sets of PJs for them ."

"That's sweet ." Louis smiled , he held Harry's free hand , "Let's keep looking around ."

The two explored the area , parting ways again when they came across another jewelry shop . Harry couldn't help the fond smile on his lips when Louis walked out pouting and empty handed , arms crossed over his chest .

He put his hands on Louis' cheeks and kissed him sweetly , "You don't have to find a ring today , baby , don't stress over this ."

"I know . I'd rather wait than buy something I'm not loving ." Louis nodded , "I just can't wait to see you with a ring too ."

Harry kissed him once more before wrapping an arm around his waist , "How about we take a break to go to lunch ? Drive somewhere else , maybe we'll find different shops for you to look into ."

Louis nodded , "Okay ."

The two returned to their rented car and drove to a different area of the city . They ate their lunch at a restaurant watching over the ocean , after lunch Louis made a stop at a shop he saw down the street .

Harry busied himself by going to the shops around , smiling when he came across a Marvel merchandise shop ; Louis loved the Marvel universe , along with some of their friends . He picked some shirts , hoodies , socks , mugs - everything he could think of , paid and left the shop with three bags .

Harry grinned when he saw Louis walking over to him , both his hands behind his back .

"I see you picked a ring , then ?"

"You can't see it yet , I want to make this proper romantic for us ." Louis smiled , leaning up on his tip-toes to kiss his lips . He looked down at the three more bags and chuckled , "What's that ?"

"There's a Marvel merch shop back there , bought us some stuff , and some for our friends . Well mostly for you , but I also know that Sarah , Zayn , Liam and Nialler love it ."

"Ohh yes I love Marvel ." Louis smiled , "I have a plan for us for tonight ." He changed the subject , hands still behind his back , "I know how to give you the ring ."

"Tell me ." Harry teased as he poked his tummy a few times ; He didn't actually want Louis to tell him , yet still loved being a bit playful .

"N-No , not yet ." Louis giggled and moved away from the poking , bringing one hand to his front to push his hand away , "I want it to be a bit of a surprise ."

"I know baby , was teasing ." Harry put his hand on his hip and leaned in to kiss his cheek , "Let's go back to the beach house , take a nap ."

"Nap sounds perfect ." Louis took some of the gift bags from Harry to help him carry it , they got back to their car and drove to the house .

Harry dumped all of the bags on the floor near their suitcases , chuckling when he saw Louis burying the small jewelry bag in the bedside drawer . "Oh no , where did you hide it ? I'll never find it now ." He mocked playfully , laughing when Louis started throwing pillows from the bed at him .

He threw them back , Louis huffed , "Bastard , can't even let me be the tiniest bit mysterious ." He flopped on the bed and took his shoes off , then threw his shirt over his head to get comfy to nap .

Harry kicked his shoes off and crawled over the bed to Louis's side , he kneeled behind him and wrapped his arms around him , "I'm teasing , baby , you know I love everything you plan for us ." He kissed his bare shoulder .

Louis leaned back against him , "Will you not spy on me after naptime to see what I'm planning ?"

"I won't ." Harry promised , "Was supposed to go grocery shopping anyway , we need some stuff . You'll have the place for yourself for about an hour ."

"Good ." Louis smiled , "Go take your clothes off so we can nap ."

"All of my clothes ?" Harry smirked as he stood up from bed and took his shirt off , Louis smiled , "I wouldn't mind . But it's naptime , no funny business . I woke up early to surf and I need this nap ."

Harry scrunched his nose when Louis said 'no funny business' . "Then it's better if I atleast keep my boxers on ." He said , making Louis giggle .

Louis grinned when he saw Harry's outfit , "Ooh , I love it . My future Hubby is handsome ."

Harry smiled looking down at his clothes ; he was wearing jean shorts and a button up with the buttons half open , and his Vans . Louis himself was wearing white jean shorts and a light blue low-collar shirt , showing off his chest and collarbones , wearing Vans aswell .

"Are we good to go ?" Harry asked as he made sure the house was locked up , Louis patted his pockets for his phone , money and the ring , then nodded , "Good to go ."

They got into the rented car , Harry put the address in and pulled out of the parking spot , "What should I expect ?"

"For it to be pretty there ." Louis said generally , Harry rolled his eyes , "And ?"

"And for me to give you the ring ."

"Loueh ."

"Harreh ." Louis poked his dimple , "Let me keep this a secret , you goober ."

Harry pouted , "Fine ." He kept the pout on his lips for longer , Louis chuckled and squished his cheeks , "Drop that pout off , you big baby , you got to fully surprise me with everything . The least I can do is surprise you with the place ."

It was a thirty minutes drive when they arrived , Louis pointed to where Harry needed to park the car .

They got out , Louis grabbed Harry's hand , "Let's go ."

Harry followed Louis up a pathway on a hill , where he could see a building at the top . As they got closer he saw it was a small Cafe watching over the ocean from ontop of the hill .

They picked a table outside right by the railing , Louis ordered the two of them chocolate milkshakes and pancakes with strawberries .

Once the waitress left Louis moved out of his chair and placed himself on Harry's lap , Harry wrapped his arms around him and kissed his shoulder , "So pretty here ."

"I know ." Louis nodded , "Was looking up places before the flight and came across this one , knew I wanted to come here for either breakfast or one afternoon , for the golden hour ."

"Any other places you saw ?" Harry asked , Louis bit his lower lip , "Well I didn't really plan much , wanted to dedicate much of our time here to surfing . I did find this place and a cruise club that looked fun ."

"Cruise club ?"

"Yeah , there's a cruise ship that's basically like a nightclub , it goes out at nine p.m and returns at one a.m . Need to buy tickets though ." Louis nodded , turning to sit sideways so he could look at Harry .

"That does sound like fun ." Harry smiled , "Want to get tickets ?"

"Celebrate our full engagement tonight ?" Louis asked with a smile , Harry pretended to think , "I don't know ... you haven't given me a ring yet ."

Louis pressed his hands to the sides of Harry's head and kissed him , pulling back when he heard footsteps approaching . He blushed soft pink as the waitress placed their milkshakes on the table , the couple said a quiet 'thank you' as she left .

"One more kiss ." Harry leaned in and pressed his lips to Louis' , Louis smiled and kissed him for a bit , his hand reaching into his pocket to pull out the small box 

Harry pulled back from the kiss , grinning when he saw the box in Louis' hand .

Louis opened the box to show Harry the ring he picked earlier that day , "I know we've established that but I'm still going to ask you , so ... will you marry me ?" Louis grinned .

"Yes , baby , I'll fucking marry you ." Harry nodded with a wide grin , Louis kissed him quickly and pulled the ring out , sliding it on Harry's finger . He put the box down on the table and wrapped his arms around Harry's neck , kissing him again with zero care to who was watching them .

Harry held him tightly and kissed back just as eagerly , "Mm , Lou - baby we need to stop before we get too excited ."

"Ugh , I know ." Louis pouted , Harry pressed one more kiss to his lips before pulling his phone out , let's send pictures of our rings ?"

The waitress returned to their table with their order of pancakes , "Your order is on the house . Congratulations on the engagement ."

The couple smiled and thanked her , they waited for her to walk away before they started taking pictures of their rings , holding each other's hands as Harry took pictures . They took some selfies too , then took more pictures of their food .

"Okay , I'm sending these to your phone ." Harry sent all of the pictures to Louis' phone , "We're sending these on the families' groupchats , then we each send half to our friends' groupchat , and then we go MIA ."

Louis laughed , "Why go MIA ?"

"The suspension ." Harry smiled mischievously , "It's fun watching others go crazy ."

"You're evil ." Louis shook his head , but grabbed his phone from the table . He did as Harry told , they finished sending everything on the groupchats and silenced their phones , placing them away on the table and turning to eat their food .
