Chapter 5

Helloooooooooooooooooooo, It's me. (Absolutely not writing the song down, even though it's tempting. :D) Hey guys! OMG, I am freaking out!!!! This fan fiction has 469 views! :DDDDDD Thanks so much, this makes me so happy. :)

I tried my best to write down a next chapter, and it was super hard. I mean SUPER HARD. I gave up several times 'cause my brain wasn't cooperating, but here it is! Hope you guys enjoy it! :D

Nino stared at his watch: It was 11:59. The dance was about to end. He could see the janitors talking to each other in the corners, glaring at the three boys who were throwing glasses of orange juice at each other.

He stared at Alya. Serious, down to earth, Alya. He had found another side of her today. He now knew she could be sweet and endearing. Nino smiled and nuzzled against her smooth hair, and Alya swatted at his suit covered arm.

"Nino! It's almost time to go, and I should get going." Alya's happy smile turned dark, "I'm worried about Marinette. She hasn't come, and I feel guilty for enjoying when she's probably crying! Oh my gosh, I'm such a bad friend."

Nino put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, It'll be okay. You're a great friend, and Marinette thinks so too. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a dance once in awhile, is there?" Nino said.

"I-I guess so. Okay, I'm going to call her now." Alya reached into her hand bag for her phone.

"And I'll search for my best buddy." Nino looked around the gym, "Hey, Adrien? Where are you dude?" he called.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Marinette ...." Adrien whispered weakly.

Marinette stepped closer to him, hands on hips. Adrien instinctively took a step back. She pouted mockingly.

"Aw, running away from me now? Come here, kitty kitty."

Adrien was surprised. There was no way she could know he was Chat Noir, after all, Marinette was just a normal classmate.

Have to admit, Adrien is very, very stupid here.

"Stop, Marinette. Look, the text message wasn't from-"

"I'm not Marinette! I am Soul Stealer, and I will make you feel the same pain I felt before!" Marinette yelled.

She pulled out a bow and arrows of silver, and aimed directly at Adrien's chest. The string was let go, and Adrien could hear it come towards him. Thanks to his Chat Noir instincts, he immediately ducked.

Surprisingly, Adrien was swift and fast. (Well, we know that. :D *smirks*) The real Marinette deep inside instantly started to swoon, but the akuma's power clung to her thoughts.

"I will get you Adrien!" Marinette shouted, as she sent more arrows at him.

Adrien barely had any time to dodge them. He didn't want to get hit, and who knows what the result of it would be?

Marinette stopped advancing on him, and hung her head. Her hands curled into fists, and she was quiet for a moment.

Was she back? Was Marinette fighting the akuma? Adrien felt hope glinting in his chest, and he reached a shaking hand out to her.

"M-Marinette?"

She suddenly whipped her head back up, eyes wide and sharp with fury.

"Wasn't the text message enough?" She screamed.

Adrien fell to the pavement in surprise. He watched, horrified as a purple outline of a butterfly showed on Marinette's pale face. He knew it. She was akumatized.

Marinette nodded at Hawk Moth's instructions, and her attention instantly refocused on Adrien, who was trying to sneak away.

"Come back here!" Marinette growled, as she ran toward Adrien.

Adrien darted away from Marinette's grasp, all the while shouting,

"Marinette! Stop, this isn't you!"

Marinette smirked, and rolled her eyes. It somehow looked familiar.

"Marinette? Who is she? I don't know her, I'm Soul Stealer!" she shrieked, pouncing on Adrien.

Her iron grip hung onto the back of his suit, and was dragging him closer to her by the second. Adrien quickly shrugged off his jacket, and continued to run. Marinette screamed in fury as Adrien turned into nothing but a shadow in the distance.

She turned to the school, and a brilliant idea sparked up.

A perfect trap for two heroes.

She grinned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adrien quickly slid into a narrow alley. He hit his left trouser pocket hard.

"Ow!" squealed the lump.

"Plagg!" Adrien hissed, "Come out already! We need to transform!"

The little black kwami yawned.

"Seriously Adrien? I was having the time of my life dreaming about-" Plagg whined, but Adrien cut him off.

"I know, you were dreaming about cheese. Now we need to transform, Marinette is akumatized."

Plagg stared up at him quizzically.

"Since when did you care about her?" he asked.

"What? She's my classmate, of course I care about her!" Adrien sighed.

"Then why-" Plagg started,

"No time for this. Plagg, transform me!" Adrien shouted.

(Some of you might prefer Plagg, claws out, or transform: Chat Noir/Black cat ...etc. I just like all of them, so you might see me use many different ones at times. :D)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And while all of this was happening:

"Where is he? It's 12:05 already!" Nino cried.

"Maybe he's in the bathroom?" Alya suggested.

"I don't think he'd be there for over 10 minutes, but okay. I'll go check." Nino shrugged, dashing off to find his friend.

Alya sighed. Marinette wouldn't pick up, and she didn't reply to any text messages. Was she asleep? Mindlessly, Alya looked through her picture gallery, erasing the blurred ones.

Just then, her phone buzzed. Alya squinted: It was Marinette!

Alya quickly swiped across her phone, and pressed it to her phone to her ear in anticipation. She heard some scuffling, then finally, Marinette.

"Hey Alya." Marinette said.

"Girl! Where were you? Why didn't you answer my calls?" Alya demanded.

"Uh.... I was helping my parents at the bakery."

"Oh, okay. Are you .... I mean, about that text message. I found out that it wasn't Adrien who-"

"The text message!" Marinette covered quickly, "It's nothing. I'm fine."

Alya raised and eyebrow. Her friend was not the type to get over her lifelong crush so easily.

"Er.... See you tomorrow then? I'll go over to your house at twelve." she suggested.

"Sure! Okay! And Alya?" Marinette asked.

"Mm?"

"Is everyone still there? At the gym?"

"Mostly everyone's here. People are about to leave though." Alya observed, "Why?"

"Nothing, nothing."

"About Adrien, we can't find him. Just in case you wanted to know."

"He won't be there for you to find." Marinette stated coldly.

"What?!"

The line went dead.

"Marinette? Hey, pick up! Marinette??" Alya shouted.

Bam!

Alya jumped with the whole school as the front doors slammed shut. Students shuddered as they heard the lock click.

The power went out, and students instantly started to scream.

"There's nowhere for you to run." A voice whispered.

Sooooooooooooooooo! Another cliffhanger(?). Sorry! I had to end it there to finish my homework. I have a literal pile on my desk right now. It's getting late so I better get cracking. How was it? It's not my best work, but for some reason, I love all my creations. Is it weird...? :D
